Is there a big difference in these 2 restaurants for breakfast. We have plans for Chef Mickey's on Wed 2/1, however DW is a huge Donald Duck fan and we will be at Animal Kingdom on Tuesday 1/31 so I was thinking of adding another character breakfast. We have never been to either and I think both would be great ways to start each day. I welcome any thoughts or comments. Thanks.

we absolutely love chef mickeys...we did the donalds gig the last time we were there..and we werent impressed at all....they shuffled us in in groups..and well lets just say it was crowded and closed in ..and the characters didnt stop by for long...and as far as the food goes...chef mickeys is better.....donalds has the basis breakfast staple foods..nothing special though..

We love Chef Mickeys. We have been quite a few times now and always have a great experience. We went to Donalds once and had a bad experience. IMO, Chef Mickeys is much much better.

With that said, many people here have had great experiences at Donalds and some have had bad experiences at Chef Mickeys. So, I would say try both if you want to do 2 character breakfasts. But if you are only doing 1 my personal vote would be for Chef Mickeys.

hmmm...this has me wondreing if I should cancel the Breakfastosaurous and try something else instead.

Thanks for the comments, I think we will stay with Chef Mickey's.

We visited the parks May 2005 and had breakfast at both Chef Mickey's and Donald's Breakfastorous. I liked Donald's better. I loved the theming of the archaelogical dig site. They also had good food, including some sort of really good baked apple dessert thing. I appreciate the fact that they let you know when the characters are coming. In addition, the waiter was very funny, and did a few magic tricks.

The food at Chef Mickey's was just OK IMO. I didn't find Mickey and the gang less friendly than Donald & company.

Both are fun for the kids.

We've never eaten breakfast at Chef Mickey's (only dinner, which we love!), but we did eat at Donalds in May 2004. We didn't care for it at all. I thought the food was lousy (a p.poster mentioned a baked apple dessert...I had that and it was all doughy and undercooked..YUCK!!) and they didn't keep things filled. Our server was rushed and never re-filled our coffee or anything. The characters breezed by us, once they finally made it to our table (it took a long time) I found the restaurant dark and crowded. We won't be back!

The food (breakfast) was better at Chef Mickey's. We have been 3 times there, and only once to Donald's. We did have a horrible table last time at CM's, it was out the back under the monorail. I guess there was an MK view, but the windows were sort of weirdly plasticy, I felt really claustrophobic and shut in.

Anyway my strange foibles aside, what I wanted to say about Donald's Breakfastasaurus was that we had an awesome waiter, who kept stopping by to do little magic tricks, which my DS5 loved. He was great, the servers at Chef Mickey's always seem a little rushed and hard to track down. I think that is what I dislike about buffets generally, the servers seem stretched a little thin. They always seem to disappear when you need the check or a refil!
