Chef Mickey breakfast 11:20, bad time?

I did have all of my ADRs booked well in advance, but then changed my dates by one day and had to rearrange a few. I was unable to get Chef Mickey (which my girls really wanted) for dinner the entire time we're there, unless we want to eat after 8:00 PM (we don't). I took an 11:20 breakfast (kind of like the BF idea anyway, as we don't have any BFs booked). But, will the time really mess up our plans for the day?
Some info: We will have already done a full MK day earlier in our trip. Our plan prior to making this ADR was to get to Mk for rope drop, repeat some of our favorites, have lunch around 11:45-12:00, and head out of the park for a long resort break. We planned to return to MK in the evening for dinner, Spectro and Wishes. So now that we have booked BF rather than dinner, what time would we have to head out of the park to make our ADR? Someone said that it is only a 10 minute walk from MK to the Contemporary, or would the monorail be faster? If we don't get to do everything we want in the AM, we could always return earlier in the afternnon/ evening (Spectro is at 9:00), but I think it will probably be pretty crowded with 2 Spectros scheduled. What do you think?

We're doing Chef Mickeys at the same time as you. We plan on hitting the MK at opening doing our favorites then heading to CM for a nice Breakfast. Then heading back to the BC until that night. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I think I did 11am last time and it was great. Not too crowded and the no waiting in line for the buffet. We love breakfast so it was great to fill up on breakfast foods for "lunch."

We did the 11:20 BF and it was perfect for us! :thumbsup2

We hit the parks early, then left to go to Chef Mickeys about the time it was starting to get busy and heat up. We used the late BF as a brunch/lunch and went back to the resort to hit the pool for awhile before heading back to MK in the evening. :wizard:

An 11:20 timeslot is the ideal time for a character meal for us. We like lunch or late b-fast which we use as lunch. When we did CM at about that time, the place was no longer busy, and we got a nice break from the parks. Then we had the rest of the day to walk off that big meal. Have fun!

We just did CM yesterday morning at 10:20 and left around 11:30ish and people were still waiting to sit. I'm a "breakfast" person and could easily eat breakfast food for lunch and I thought what a great idea...go to MK at opening and just as it's getting crowded, hop the monorail over the CM's for a fun lunch, what an idea for a future trip!! This trip we actually are doing a non-DIS park trip so we just kinda bopped around yesterday (even with earlier PS).

SO, I don't think 11:20 is a bad time at all! I had asked the CM's what time they stopped serving and she said the last ADR/PS was 11:20 and they keep serving until everyone leaves (and the characters hang around as well). You'll probably get to spend more time with the characters too!

Thanks, I feel good about my ADR now!!!
Can anyone tell me what time we need to leave MK to make the ADR? And which is faster, monorail or walking? Thanks!

It would probably take about the same amount of time (taking into consideration wait time for monorail). I say go ahead and take the Resort Monorail - Contemporary is the very first stop and it's on the same floor as Chef Mickey's. To make your ADR, I would personally be walking to the monorail from the front entrance of MK by 11am. I like to get to my ADRs a few minutes early (I hate being late!).

You chose a great time to go. As the earlier breakfast crowd thins out, the characters get to spend a LOT more time with you (Minnie even had time to sit with my 2 daughters and look through their autograph book together).

Have a great time!

Take the monorail. You get a neat view into Chef Mickey's as you pull in.

I would leave MK at 10:45 and catch the RESORT monorail (be sure you get the right one). CR is first stop, so it will be quick and you exit the monorail right "above" CM - just an escalator (or elevator if you have stroller) ride down one level. If you are returning to the MK after BF, you may want to walk. Since CR is the first stop after MK, when you get back on the monorail, you have to ride the entire circle, stopping at GF, Poly, TTC before you get back to MK. The walkway is easy to find and it's an easy walk. Depends on what your plans are for the rest of the day. If you are catching a bus back to your resort, walk back to MK, too, as you will walk right past all the bus shelters as you make your way to the front.

That would be good make your brunch with mickey then on to MK. Be of the walk it is short but you have to cross traffic. Much quicker than the monrail.  party: party: party:

This is the best time since the restaurant tends to slow down and you get much more character interaction. I made our first reservation for this timing based on the disboards recommendation. This is when we make our ADRs for CHef Mickey's all the time now.
