Is there any way to get these items if one can't get ressies to LeCelliar? It's been 2 years since we went and that is all DS talks about (he is 16 and happens to have Down Syndrome). I called yesterday at my 90 day mark and can't get into LeCelliar for any day and any time. I'll keep checking back, but he is going to be crushed if he can't have the soup and pretzel bread.

No, unfortunately you can't get them anywhere else, but don't give up. Cancellations happen and I'd bet you'll get something. Also, think about going for lunch. It's often easier to get a lunch reservation and they serve the soup and pretzel bread then as well.

Good luck!

Since LeCellier is soooo booked all the time and they know how popular these items are you would think they would do a little kiosk type thing like the place where you can buy Grey Goose slushies and stuff and sell those items. Wouldn't hurt their business any and they are items that are easily made in a commercial kitchen.

I've tried lunch and dinner - litterally ANY time, ANY day that we are there. DS is going to be crushed if we can't get in. It's the only TS I was even going to mess with. We ended up with free QSDP, so I was going to make this a more relaxing trip with not having to have a schedule, other than this one meal. I'd really like to do CP reserved seating, but there is no way I'm paying 51.99 for what they sell for 28.99 otherwise!

Several weeks ago someone posted about take out from Le Cellier and posted a photo of the cheese soup in a "to go" cup. I'll see if I can dig it up for you! I have no idea if they do this all of the time and/or what you could order, but I thought I'd let you know that it has apparently been done before! :)

ETA: Here's the thread that with the pics!

WDW table service restaurants are not set up for carryout orders. We've had posts in the past that Le Cellier MIGHT allow soup carryout if they're not busy; however, according to all recent posts, anyone asking for carryout has been turned down. There's no busier restaurant anywhere at WDW right now. Note that the pictures linked above are not recent. They are from August 2008.

Lisa,

It might be a longshot, but in view of your son's condition, I would encourage you to contact Guest Relations and explain your situation. Disney is excellent in working with guests with special needs, and MIGHT be willing to make accommodations for your son. Worst case scenario is they would say "sorry", but then again they might come through for you in some way. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Good luck!

We were there for dinner on sunday 8/30/2009 for a 6:20 ressie. 2 ladies came to the podium begging and pleading for soup and pretzel bread. they did hook them up that night. Saw them bring out soup in 2 to go cups and a piece of pretzel bread each. I overherard they charged them $7.00 each. I wouldn't count on this happening all the time though, I think they just got a sympathetic hostess. :confused3 Plus nothing like a ton of Dis'rs running there every night to ruin a good thing LOL! ;) :cool2:

During the Food and Wine Festival you can can the cheddar cheese soup, not sure about the pretzel bread.

This is from all-ears for the food and wine fest. I wonder if this is the same cheese soup? I don't see the pretzel breadstick on the list. We were lucky we got Le Cellier on Oct,. 26 for 1:30, lucky we thought because we got this at 75 days out. We may try the cheese soup for a snack credit.

:hippie::cool2:

Lisa, I just sent you a private message. (Check the top right of your screen.) Good luck!

I think you can...back in March we had dinner at LC and one the way in there were 4 ladies sitting on a bench all with a take out cup of soup and a foil wrapper of pretzel bread just dunking away...they were so happy!

I think you should be prepared to be turned down. I think you should also keep trying to get a reservation. The suggestion that you call WDW and ask to make arrangements for your special needs son is a very good one and I think may be more likely to get results for you than just walking up to the podium and asking for takeout.

I had a tiny little paper cup of it at Food and Wine Festival a couple of years ago -- no pretzel bread, though. But don't they have pretzel bread at the German restaurant?

If this year's F&W is like those in the past, the Canadian kiosk will have their cheese soup, maple glazed salmon and creme brulee with maple syrup. (Their creme brulee is hard to beat.)
Keep in mind the portions sizes are not that large. I think the creme brulee was three small bites worth.
The German kiosk offers sausage on a pretzel bread with sauerkraut.

OP now has a lunch ressie at Le Cellier for late in their stay. :cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay:

I just did some checking and PM'd her what date to try. It worked for her.
