Waiting for your update

Seems I always pick the reports to read that drop off into thin air.:rolleyes1

CHAPTER 8: YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE THE B-E-S-T!

I woke up the next morning around the same time as everyone else in my room. I guess my fuel from my long days at the parks was wearing me down so I slept longer. I'm glad this was my last day so I wouldn't sleep in late again, since I don't like to sleep in at all. I got up, as my roommates moped about, brushed my teeth, took a shower and the other things I do to get ready for the long day ahead. I texted Jocelyn and she said she was already ready, so I grabbed my bag and went out to meet her, Tina and Taylor.

They came out at basically the exact same moment as me so we basically went from those boots straight off to get our breakfast. As we walked down, Jocelyn got a few texts and told us Lindsay would be joining us today. She was for awhile hanging out with another group and decided to join us, because she was apparently bored with them Haha We all were okay with that so she was going to join us for the day.

Soon enough we were down at Melody Hall and entering the food court. We all ran into line for our food. Jocelyn and I got in line for the regular Mickey Waffles with Strawberries as usual (Yum!), yeah most liked those. Then, we went over and both got a bottle of lemonade, okay so so far we've gotten the same things. Then when we went to pay, we both bought the 40 cent Mickey curly straws. So, so far today we had gotten the same thing, which meant we could keep track easier of how much we had on our cards. We thought that was pretty awesome :goodvibes

We sat down in our usual spot and began to eat. We all ate pretty quickly as usual. Then, as we were finishing we talked about meeting our chaperones and where to get those bags and pins from performing a day ago. So, after we finished most of our meals, I left with my bottle of lemonade, went to go find our chaperones.

Liz and Dr. Jim are always together, so luckily we found them without having to split off to find both. They asked Liz for the bags and she came out with them. I just waited behind them, when she thought I was waiting for one, but I was still waiting for Dr. Jim who went away for a sec to talk with Pat and Carl, the chorus and band directors. He came back and then gave me my bag and pin. I stuck them both inside my bag and then we got the whole lowdown on what was going on. I ended up being included into Liz's group since I was with her chaperone-ees, if that's what you would call them. She told us to put on sunscreen then and there and just told us everything else that we hear every morning. Our curfew was late again tonight because of night EMH at Magic Kingdom, so that was some good news.

My roommates had yet to arrive and neither had Lindsay. We went inside for a bit and just kinda walked around. Jocelyn texted Lindsay, who said she was on her way. She finally got to the food court and it was getting decently close to busy hours at Magic Kingdom. She said she was going to get something small. She ran to get her food and was out very quickly with yogurt and some oatmeal sprinkled on it and we headed out to the buses.

There was nobody in the Magic Kingdom line so we ran right in. There was... however, a long wait for EPCOT (or Hollywood Studios, I forget). It was a cheerleading group and they seemed to have been waiting forever. All these buses kept on passing by and there was not one for EPCOT. All of the sudden the cheerleaders and the other people in line with them moved into our line. We luckily were at the front and didn't have to worry about them too much. They were all talking and a lot of adults were talking with them. Then, a minute or so before the bus arrived, a guy asked the cheerleaders to perform a cheer and all of the sudden they screamed out "You know that we are the B-E-S-T! Better than all of the R-E-S-T!" The crowd, with an exception of us, clapped and the bus finally arrived.

An elderly lady needed to get on the bus, so we had to wait a bit. The guy was helping her on and didn't seem to take her needed help too kindly. Jerk! Once she was on, we finally were allowed to get on the bus. I screwed on my lemonade bottle cap tightly and stuffed it in my bag before we got on. We all went straight to the back of the bus since most gather at the front so we sat there without any fear of being squished by the "B-E-S-T" cheerleading squad, but they didn't come on. Before they came on, Jocelyn whispered the cheer the cheerleaders just performed. It was pretty funny. Then we all started doing it just before they got on the bus. We had it stuck in our heads.

I must mention that today they were having one of Disney's marathons. This meant some little detours when going to parks EPCOT and Magic Kingdom since those were the beginning and the end of the race. Probably the reason why EPCOT's bus was late and our already long bus ride to Magic Kingdom was longer. So, we had a bit more time to talk. I got to talk with Lindsay a bit. She was one of the newer girls this year, well... she had left to go to a different school in middle school and now was back. She was a lot nicer than I remembered so it was fun talking to her. We also began talking with one of the cheerleaders. We soon found out it was a middle school cheerleading squad and they just won their competition down in Disney. She was a nice girl, but I don't think any of us could get over that cheer :rotfl:

As the bus ride went on, I started feeling that my seat was getting cold and so was my bag. I ignored it for most of the ride not thinking anything of it. Then it felt like it was moving. I took off my bag and found a huge puddle of lemonade in my seat! I was freaking out, because now it was all over me and probably most of the stuff in my bag. I checked and my tickets and the stuff that could get severely damaged by this were all safe. My pin lanyard did smell awful. Lindsay turned to me and went wide-eyed. Yeah, this wasn't good at all. I did get the lemonade out, but the whole thing spilled. So much for that!

The bus was finally arriving at Magic Kingdom, we were just going under the sign after I got this situated. Yet, the puddle was still in my seat. I then got an idea. I found the Mickey bag I got from performing and decided I would move everything into there while my blue bag dried off when we got off the bus. I asked them if they would wait after I got off the bus to switch everything over and they were okay with that. The bus arrived at Magic Kingdom and we were off. I transferred everything over to my new bag and put all the wet items into the plastic that was once covering the new bag and it only took a few seconds and we headed on in.

We went through the turnstiles fairly quickly, well Lindsay was having some trouble with her ticket, but it was all situated and we got through. Bag check was also very quick, nothing uneventful or funny that happened and we were on our way. We all picked up a guide map as we entered and the headed into Main Street USA, going straight towards the awe-inspiring Cinderella Castle (sorry no pictures this time around). Then, turned to the right to Tomorrowland, where our plan of attack was the intimidating Space Mountain. Tina was a bit nervous about this, but we said she had to try it and coaxed her with how I liked it, so she agreed.

We ran right up to Space Mountain. There was little line and no CM blocking us from going on, so we went straight in. We zoomed up through the cool queue, hearing the screams of space travellers who had gone before us and playing games along the way. Then, we finally got to the point where they split you up to go on Alpha or Omega. I went on Omega for my first trip, almost went on Alpha, but I wasn't feeling good when I got to the loading zone and never got to ride that side. Luck was on my side this time and we were sent to Alpha, though nobody was on Omega... probably for people with Fast Passes. There was really no wait and we filled up a whole rocket with five people, so it was all good, except there was a lot of adjusting with our bags, but we fit :) Then, we were off to "Traverse the Galaxy Moonshoes..." Oh wrong place, wrong time Haha

I'll just skip what happened on the ride since I know a lot have been on and say it was AWESOME! I remembered how terrified I was my first ride, this time it wasn't so bad and just fun. It was scary not being able to see the track, but I really enjoyed it. Our on-ride picture was funny. Everyone had some whacked up face, except Lindsay who managed to keep her face perfectly happy as if she were taking a school picture. We looked at her like "What the heck?" but disregarded ourselves and just went on up the elevator thing, bouncing along and making faces in the cameras.

As we exited the ride, everyone was unanimous about riding again, except Tina. She had been leery of the ride and after. She definitely wasn't a fan. It kinda shocked me since I didn't think it was as bad as Everest, but she felt that way, so we left our stuff with Tina and the rest of us rode it again. Again, we were sent to Alpha, except the order this time was, Taylor, me, Lindsay in the front rocket and Jocelyn alone in the back. Again, Lindsay managed to give the school picture smile when they took the on-ride photo and the ride was just awesome as before.

After we exited, found Tina and got our bags, everyone was a bit winded. It was a bit hotter than usual today, so we decided to looking for waters. We went to this cart right near Space Mountain and looked around that. I wasn't exactly thirsty so I looked around the whole thing and found a pin of Mickey riding Space Mountain and just had to have it. So I bought that. Here is a picture:

We were all joking around about the price of the blow up balls they had since they looked like tons of fun, but nobody bought one, well Taylor bought a smaller one, but nobody ever bought the hundred dollar monumental ones. The big ticket item was this:

248.jpg

You say... "It's just an ordinary water bottle" but it isn't! It is an underpriced oversized water bottle. It was perfect for a days worth of sun, sweat, aches, pains and other stuff you gain from running around a Disney park for a whole day. Taylor bought hers first, then Lindsay, then Tina, then Jocelyn and I ended up being the last one to get this... MASTERPIECE. The guy running the vending machine after seeing everyone buy one said to me, "I'm guessing your getting one too." I laughed and replied "Yes". He got me one and I was set with water for the day.

We sat down for a bit and drank our water since I think everyone was officially pooped and I figured I needed water. To show you how really big this water is, my good friend Lindsay has graciously modeled the size for you, comparing the bottle to the human head:

Once we had gotten our fill, we decided to start walking towards some other rides. We were about to go straight for the PeopleMover when Tina came over saying she had bird poo on her arm. For sure, there was a splotch of white on her arm. I said it possibly was an ice cream or other white fluid, but she uttered the words "It's warm..." This was decidedly a perfect time for bathroom breaks (: I looked at my map for the nearest bathrooms and saw it was at the Noodle Station, so we headed over there. While everyone was taking their break, Lindsay, one of the first to buy the water bottle managed to finish the thing, along with Taylor. We even had a chugging contest to see who could finish it and they ended up doing just that. It was crazy how thirsty we'd become. Once Jocelyn got out of the bathroom, we went back into the center of Tomorrowland awaiting whatever the Disney fates meant for us to do.

CHAPTER 9: THE SEARCH FOR TOM MORROW AND SOME FRIENDLY FACES coming soon!

That stinks that your lemonade spilled ): I kinda figured it would, because you mentioned that you screwed on the lid tight, making me think somethin' was gonna happen! Haha.

Hahaaha, the cheerleaders. I'm guessing they were there for Nationals. I used to do Pop Warner cheer, but the farthest we ever made it was Regionals- one step away from going to Disney. We were so close, but oh well! Haha.

I enjoyed your Magic Kingdom update. Space Mountain is one of my favorites. I love the the thrill of it, but not so much the bumpy parts of it. Like you already know, my Space Mountain picture turned out looking like crap. That is normal for me, though. That sucks about your lemonade. Something like that would happen to me. At least you had another bag to switch into. Can't wait for another update! (:

It wasn't fun and my pin lanyard smelled citrusy for days and my Dopey pin was practically ruined. And Haha, yeah I kinda tried to put focus so you guys would be all "Oh no" then it would happen and be all "OH NO!"

:confused3 I don't know but there was a lot of cheerleading squads, some the same age as us (rather not talk about my experience with them ) and the girl we talked to said they won so if it was Nationals than... yeah we were with some awesome cheerleaders. I'm sorry you didn't make it there :( But you go to Disney all the time... still one more doesn't hurt ;)

It is wicked fun. :mickeyjum I don't remember it being really bumpy, it was very smooth, but it was so dark so a lot of times you didn't expect something coming and it just did. Haha, I wouldn't despair all my ride photos make me look crazy or insane. The one Space Mountain photo I have, I look wild like a loose asylum inmate. *shivers* The lemonade wasn't a fun thing, I think because of this I lost my curly straw for 49 cents (LOL) I luckily had everything situated so it was all good and I'll update as soon as I can :)

Lemonade? Sticky stuff.

Those water bottles were huge. Now I see where your title originated.
But your park partners trusted you with liquids, especially one that large after the lemonade debacle?:lmao:

If I might ask exactly where did you get the Space Mountain pin?

My grandson has quite a few pins, although he likes the Nightmare Before Christmas ones, he does have a couple of Mickeys.

Great update, I have a feeling your trip is coming to a close, I'm reading a couple of others just starting but yours has certainly been one of the most entertaining.

Catching up again. Looks like a great night at the MK. Glad you enjoyed the fireworks. It is an awesome show and I love the music! :goodvibes

Very sticky!

They are. Yeah, they did because we had another problem I forgot to mention. I'll have to edit this in... when we were walking around near the cart, Tina stepped under a tree and all of the sudden something white dropped on her arm. She thought it was bird poop, though I said it may have been just ice cream, but she said it was warm... so yeah, that's the reason why we went to the bathroom. I can't believe I forgot to put that in. I'll definitely add it.

The Mickey Space Mountain pin I found at the cart like I said in the TR, but I think it may be in the gift shop you enter after getting off the ride. They usually have all Space Mountain pins in there so I'm betting you can find one :)

Yeah. This was my last full day. I'll probably do a few updates of the last day since there was still stuff that happened though we weren't in the parks. :) I'm glad you are enjoying it, that's always good to hear :goodvibes

Am I going too fast? Haha Yeah, it was a very fun night. Nights at Magic Kingdom are the best, so much happens then. Wishes! is such a great show, the heartfelt music, the in-sync fireworks just weave together to create a great show. I hope they make it the official fireworks of MK and it never leaves (like various other Disney shows and fireworks)! ;)

Finally caught up again on your TR. That sucks about your lemonade spilling in your bag, but at least nothing was ruined! When I was at WWoHP last summer we were walking around and my bag felt funny. I went to check it and realized a giant hole had torn in the bottom and my wallet was about to fall right out!:scared1: Luckily I caught it in time. And wow that water bottle is big but definitely a good deal. I can't imagine chugging that entire thing though lol.

:thumbsup2 to catching up (: It wasn't the highlight of my day that's for sure. I've luckily used to fixing these situations along with being a very intuitive person, all was well. (; Oh gosh, that doesn't sound good. Luckily you noticed before your wallet fell out. I somehow managed to keep mine safe the whole trip, I don't know how I did it but I did. :goodvibes It was an awesome deal. Going from $1.50 to something around $2.50, it was just a great deal. And yeah... I couldn't even try to chug it without laughing because the thing was so big. LOL That may be my reason, but either way probably wouldn't be able to drink it in one chug. ::yes::

CHAPTER 9: THE SEARCH FOR TOM MORROW AND SOME FRIENDLY FACES (Part 1)

When we enter Tomorrowland, we are once again conflicted with a choice to either ride the Tomorrowland Speedway or the PeopleMover. We kinda wandered a bit to get more looks around. I also was kinda forcing the group towards where you could still see the Toontown sign, so I could take some pictures of it, but it was to no avail. The Tomorrowland Speedway was very long and there was no wait for the PeopleMover, so we went up to that.

We all thought it looked pretty cool since it seemed to go right into some rides we saw like Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and a few others. We also were tired and this looked like a ride you could definitely relax on (for those wanting to relax). Also, you had to go on an escalator to get to it! Haha I don't know why that was cool to us, but it was. We did have to wait since there was a decent sized group ahead of us, but we got on... the camera came out... and the ride began:

As you may have noticed in the title for this chapter, I said "Search for Tom Morrow". Well... since I have only been to Disney twice withing 6 months of each other and in that time, I missed the original TTA recording. I heard about it on here and about how it was gone when I was there and the brought it back right before I went back. So, while on this ride, my goal was to hear that phrase, though I never did hear it after I got off BUT I did get some pictures of Toontown. (: So, that was pretty awesome and everyone actually enjoyed a slow-moving ride for once. There was hope! :goodvibes

Once we got off the ride and noticed it was around lunchtime, we felt it was time to give a return visit to none other than... THE GOLDEN OAK OUTPOST! Also, to see if Splash Mountain was working today, so we could ride. That was a must-do for this trip ::yes::

We headed up through Fantasyland to the pathway that leads to Liberty Square, so we could get to Frontierland. Golden Oak Outpost was at the other end of Frontierland so we had a bit of walking, but we soon got there and there was... as usual... nobody there. So, we got right in line and ordered, basically the same as last night, except most got drinks and Lindsay was with us. Since, nobody popped into line behind us, we got to talk with the girl running the cashier. She was probably one of the nicest CMs we had met this week. She was blonde, bubbly and that southern accent. She asked us about how our day was going and we told her what we did and what we were planning to do. She began talking to us about the TTA when we brought it up, it was very cool to find a CM like her. I wish I had remembered her name. ):

We soon got all our food and sat down to eat (Once again Jocelyn and I had the same exact orders). We all enjoyed our meals just as much as last time... well food-wise. After Tina's incident earlier, we had gotten a bit paranoid about birds and their scat (nicer word), so when they were flying over us, we were all trying to hide under the table. It was pretty funny, most of us figured we were fine after awhile and finished our meals in peace.

Once we had finished our meals, we headed over to Splash Mountain. The ride looked like it was working fine until people stopped going down the drop. They seemed to be fixing, since you could see some CMs up there, so we went to get some FPs, which were around 2 a little bit later, so maybe we could ride it after another ride on Thunder Mountain, since we all enjoyed that.

Just as we walked away from the Fastpass kiosks, Jocelyn got a call from her mom. They said they were looking for us and had entered Frontierland (I forgot to mention, she told her parents where we were, since they had been texting her for most of the day). She told her they were near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with Fastpasses for Splash. Her mom really wanted to ride that, so she said wait for them, so they could get the Fastpasses. I told Jocelyn to tell them to hurry since FPs go quick and we want them to at least coincide so we could all ride together.

We kinda moved off to the side outside of BTMRR, trying to stay together within the huge masses surrounding us. Jocelyn said they were pretty close and she would go looking, after waiting a bit. Then... just as she left, her brother and dad came over. We tried calling her over and she finally came back. She was a bit irritated and it was pretty funny. Jocelyn then showed them where the FP kiosks were so they could get FPs for Splash to go on with us. Once they got them and came back, Jocelyn's mom and her baby brother came over. Jocelyn and Taylor were all over Jocelyn's baby brother. He was a cute little guy, but they went ballistic. We luckily were able to get things straight about our plans to go on Splash, which Jocelyn's mom ended up jumping in on, taking her husband's FP.

After setting the record straight, Jocelyn, Taylor, Tina, Lindsay, Jocelyn's dad, Jocelyn's brother and I all got in line for BTMRR. While in line, since the wait was a bit long, we got into talking about Pin trading. Jocelyn was showing off her new pin and I took out my lemony fresh lanyard to show them. Jocelyn's little brother was immediately pulled into the power of the ToT pin on my lanyard, the twenty-billionth person to be hypnotized by it. He really wanted to trade something on his lanyard, but I never did, he didn't have any amazing pins on his lanyard, though there was a Sorcerer Mickey pin I liked, but I only had one pin that I wanted to trade and he didn't take it. Since I don't think I posted a picture of the pin, here it is:

0519011909.jpg

After our little pin talk, we began deciding who was going to sit with who. Nobody, including my nice self, wanted to sit with Jocelyn's brother, so it was hard trying to get someone to compromise and sit with him. He really wanted to sit with one of us to annoy us. He is one of those kids who enjoys doing that, which is why nobody really likes him. I usually disagree with statements by my friends about not hanging out with their siblings or things along those lines (we all have said things like that, I'm sure), but he is just another case, even I could hang around with another one of my best friend's sister more than Jocelyn's brother, though I'm still nice to him. In the end, Taylor ended up with him, though I almost did, but she was being a whiner for most of the week, so she sorta had it coming to her.

Soon enough, we got to the loading area and were off on the wildest ride in the Wild, Wild West. It was just as awesome as the first time we went on it and Lindsay, the only one in the group who had yet to ride it, enjoyed it. That roller coaster is a classic for a reason, even though it may not go so fast, it is one of the most popular rides in all of Disney World. :thumbsup2

When we got off, it was basically time for Splash Mountain, which meant we only had ample time before our FPs expired (not really, but I just say that since some CMs are just too thorough). We were now running against the clock to find Jocelyn's mom so we could ride. Would we make it?

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST...

Not to pry but my two grandsons were reading your trip report and since they are close in age, they were curious and wanted me to ask
What songs did your group sing in WDW?
They are both musicians and one sings in church and so on. They just were curious.:)

I got to think for a minute since I have a whole new selection I'm singing for chorus... We sang at Disney:

L.O.V.E.
The Look of Love
Come On, Get Happy (Three Harold Arlen Songs)
Let's Face The Music and Dance

And then our Acappella group sang:

The Longest Time

I think that was it from what I remember.

Great update! Ahh....the TTA and BTM-two things I love. I would rather do Big Thunder Mtn, though. Love that ride! Except the beginning, its pretty loud with the bats and that cracking sound. The TTA isn't my favorite, but if fun every once in a while. My brother used to think that when you went through Space mountain, you actually went on the ride. It used to scare him to death. I always thought it was funny, though. Hope you update soon! (:

Those two are awesome rides. :thumbsup2 The beginning for BTMRR IS WICKED LOUD! I don't get the point of it, I think that's the only part of the ride I actually cringe in fear. Well... not in fear, but because its so loud it bugs me, though I like how they have the scent machines there, it adds a whole no element. And LOL @ your brother thinking the TTA became the Space Mountain ride (If only ) I'll update ASAIC (As soon as I can) (:

I finished catching up last night, but figured I'd post now. Lol

I know, isn't TOT awesome! You so should have gone on RNRC though, it is amazing and the fact that Aerosmith is blared throughout the ride makes it heaven.<3
Haha (:
I love your trip report though! It's awesome!

Awesome! At least you aren't lurking...

TOT is the best! (How far behind are you?) I may... the next time I go (whenever that may be) on RNRC, but I just don't want to experience all those inversions and stuff, not my thing.

Awww... nice to see you are enjoying it (:
