++Cheerleaders! Blisters! Oversized Water Bottles! ...It Must Be Disney++ Feb 2011 TR

Hi I just noticed your birthday countdown, I didn't know that you could do that! If I had I would have put mine up ages ago. when's your brithday? Mine is May 8th. I know this is totally unrelated to the TR I just thought that the countdown was cool!

Good update. I can't wait to do the American Idol Experience this year. I tried out last time i went but they had every spot filled but one at that point (because I had came late in the day) and they were looking for a rocker, which Im not:laughing: I love the TOT pin you have; Its one of my dads fav in my collection. Hes a big TOT fan lol. Anyways, excted to hear more!:goofy:

Thanks Colby! :) You did?! I forgot to mention that when we were out indecisive about going into Indiana Jones, we saw the talent scouts out there and they tried to get me to audition. I didn't though, not for me, I'd get nothing out of it, since I don't like where American Idol has gone. (Simon :() Oh, he does! Its this pin right?

Yep. You can choose to have it as a birthday countdown or just change the vacation one to be a birthday one. YOURS IS MAY 8TH, MINE'S MAY 9TH! That's crazy awesome! Oh, its ok. I think your the third person on here I've learned to have a birthday in May. Nobody has a birthday in May... though my sister's birthday is two days after mine and my grandpa a day after mine.

i love tot :goodvibes

and whoa! i will be getting home from vacation on your birthday! :wizard: my birthday is in february:)

Great update!! :thumbsup2 cant wait to read more popcorn::

Thanks for letting me know :) I will have to make one for those last couple of weeks! And that's funny that your birthday is May 9th! my mom's is that day. I love when I meet someone that has a birthday around mine or has some other connection to my life. I have met a few people on here so far with may birthdays, it's so fun! I love having a may birthday, I love how it typically is starting to get warm and how so many activities are happening! It also is convienent that you can get summer stuff for your birthday and winter stuff for christmas/hannukah. I enjoyed your update today btw! Hope your feeling better!

I can't believe I'm subscribing to another TR.... but your signature actually dragged me in. A big fan of the Lion King I assume? It is my absolute favourite all time Disney movie. I watched it so much as a kid that I wore out the VHS (twice) and can recite the entire movie word for word. Yeah, I'm nuts  Anywho, I've read the intro so I'm along for the ride. I'll have to play catch up though!

I agree about the American Idol Experience...it is one of my favorite shows in WDW.

And YEAH, glad you liked Tower of Terror too! I used to be terrified of it but now I love it. The drops are the best part. :thumbsup2

It is such an awesome ride :)

That's cool! My dad's birthday's in February :) Random thought LOL

Thanks! I will try to update soon, Hannah :goodvibes

No problem. Oh, that's cool! I love my birthday, though its probably the reason why I'm a momma's boy (guilty as charged), because I was actually born on Mother's Day. Well, moving on... yeah, its nice to have my birthday at this time since there is just a vacancy of big celebration from March to the beginning of July so its nice to have a birthday in the in-between area, especially right before vacation. Oh, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm actually all better now, I think it was just a quick 24 hour thing so its all good, but the timing was just awful. But its all good now! :goodvibes

Haha, yes! I actually hadn't watched the movie and years and finally decided to watch it a few days back for the first time in awhile. I also watched the second one. They were both very good and I think it just tied up with my other all-time favorite, Princess and the Frog. They both have great music and I just love the storylines. I really want to get it when the Diamond Edition comes out. My goal for the coming year is to gather up as many Disney movies as I can since I'm mostly fresh out of the original animation and some of my favorites. I'll probably continue to digress so moving on... I'm glad you could join up, though I must warn you, my updates are fairly long because I tend to write a lot, but that's just a word of warning, so enjoy! :) Can't wait to hear more of your thoughts! :goodvibes

They do a great job. They've basically gotten the whole layout of the show down to a science even with the judges. They'll have a Randy, a Paula and a Simon, which I think is great to hear a Simon-like character, I just miss him on the real show :( I may have to take pictures when I go see the show again.

It is just one of those rides, very intimidating but once you ride it once you're either hooked or still intimidated LOL The drops are the best part, especially the first one, it is just so scary in the dark, though I think the whole drop sequence being randomized makes it all that better. :goodvibes

I love watching the idol show as well! In August 2009 my mom and I went to see that show, without ever really watching the real show, for the first time and LOVED IT!!!!! I then decided that I really wanted to start watching the real show. Then the season that I started watching (Season 9) there was a person from my hometown on it! It was really fun because our whole town was rooting for him and there were massive voting parties for him where everyone would be voting the whole 2 hour voting time period. We sold t-shirts telling people to vote for him and the whole town was decorated. Pretty much everyone was watching the show even if they weren't voting and the hometown parade was fun 2! It was the kind of thing that everyone was obsessed with making connections to how they knew him even if it was a really remote connection such as he knew my friend's brother's friend or something like that. My connection that I told people was that he knew my brother (which was true). Moving on now, He actually won the show which was pretty cool and my town milked that one for all that it was worth for months after the season finale. I just found it entertaining that the year I start to watch the show is when someone from my town wins. Another fun fact that I can give you about Idol is that another one of the contestants for last year (season 9) was actually a contestant at the Disney Idol experience and made it all the way to the top 5 on the real show. So it was fun this year when we saw that he had a big part in the introduction for the idol experience. This year when we went to the idol experience (One of the times we went I had my hometown visit shirt on) we were trying to find him in the video they played out side as well as the inside videos. I took a picture with the outside screen when he came on. This year we went 3 times (2 of the prelminary shows and one finale) and for both of the preliminary shows the person we voted for ended up being in the finals. I love going to watch that show and even if we aren't in the theater for the finale we always go to the big screen outside and watch it there. sorry I kind of rambled on here. Just wanted to give my input on the idol experience.

To let everyone know, I'm feeling much better. It turned out to be more of a 24 hour thing. My Easter was awesome, it was a quiet day and filled with candy, easter eggs and the whole shebang. I hope everyone else had a great Easter! :) Just wanted to say that, enjoy the update! :goodvibes

CHAPTER 6: A FULFILLED PROMISE, ANOTHER MIRACLE AND CATASTROPHE! (Part 3)

We made it all the way down the Streets of America under the boiling hot son and into the mob going into Lights! Motors! Action! arena. The mob was moving pretty quickly and we weren't even at the back, no matter how late for the show we came. I think the worst part was just powering up those stairs through the sweltering hot sun.

We all survived the long climb and were soon inside for the show. Jocelyn told us her family was sitting somewhere in the back off to where we entered. This area happened to be under a canopy so I was pretty satisfied and happy. We found them and settled in to watch the show, which basically started as we entered. After a few minutes of watching with my head in my hands I took out my camera and snapped a good chunk of pictures:

The show wasn't exactly great. I think it may be I've been to so many stunt shows and stuff like that they don't amaze me so much anymore, but I liked this one. Some of the stunts were pretty cool. I especially liked when Herbie came through. Good thing I saw this show before Lightning McQueen was announced to be added, though that will make it a lot more interesting.

We all got up and left the show, being pushed along with a mob through the once empty streets of America. We got seperated a few times than found a spot where we could avoid the mobs and discuss about our next move, though it didn't exactly turn out that way. Taylor and Jocelyn were fighting for the attention of Jocelyn's baby brother. Jocelyn was arguing with her parents about money and water. And... well lets just stay it didn't really help with the commotion already ensuing around us. After that, we told them we were headed to Downtown Disney as was planned for some shopping. They told us they were headed to Animal Kingdom which we already did so we said we would split off and see them either tomorrow or tonight at Magic Kingdom, since Taylor wanted to see her cousin and that was the only park we had yet to visit (WHY?!?)

Jocelyn and Taylor ran around with Jocelyn's baby brother a bit then we went off back to the entrance. It was very hot at the moment and the sun looked as if it was coming to that point in the day where it was going down and it was very hot. We powered through this and made it to the entrance. We went out front and went to look for where the bus to Downtown Disney was. We looked and saw it was over by where the All Star Resorts were. So, we went over and there was no sign for the bus.

I was a bit confused and so were they, so we went all the way back to the other side of the bus stop loop and checked again, it said over there. We were very confused. We walked around a bit trying to figure this out and almost joined Jocelyn's family to Animal Kingdom, we were so frustrated, but I stepped in and insisted on Magic Kingdom since that was the only park we hadn't been to and we couldn't find a way to DTD, so let's just go there, we agreed and got inline for the Magic Kingdom line which also went to the Trans Ticket Center, I think it was called and the first bus that came went there. We asked if the second bus was going to MK and they said get on and he would get us there.

The bus took us to the Trans Ticket Center, which confused me since he said Magic Kingdom was where he would get us. My friends ushered me off in my confusion and we began walking around, all of us basically lost at this point. We went inside the gift shop looked around, I now beginning to search for the Disney Villains pin set I saw in Animal Kingdom. The trip was coming to a close soon so I wanted to know where it was so I could get it (I'm a big villains fan), but I could not find it and the shop wasn't great so we left and went up to one of the CMs working at one of the ticket areas about how to get to Downtown Disney, since we apparently were going there now. Uggh...

The CM gave us the one vital piece of information we would've needed to understand why we got lost... The buses to DTD only go to and from THE RESORTS! If only we knew this then and we would've gotten on the bus back to our resort and spare all our troubles. She told us we could take a path and walk all the way to the Polynesian Resort, which was the closest or take a monorail there. We thanked her and walked way. Tina, Taylor and Jocelyn didn't want to walk in the heat, though I would've braved it and so the monorail it was.

We got on the monorail and the first stop was the Polynesian. We got off, but after some walking around on the top floor, couldn't find our way downstairs, but then found the elevator. We took it downstairs and got off, running outside just as the DTD bus came. So, we hopped on the bus and were on our way.

The Polynesian was a good distance from Downtown Disney so we talked a lot and texted during the bus ride. We talked about how beautiful the Polynesian was and how we wished our school could stay there. Seriously, that resort is beautiful! I would so stay there someday. I wish I got some pictures when I was there. Taylor was also texting her best friend's brother and then more drama came with that. Jocelyn and I were planning to really check out the Pin Trading store and do some pin trading so we talked about that, when Taylor was getting all emotional. The bus soon came up to Downtown Disney, where we were on our way to probably what was the longest day in Disney we had.

CHAPTER 7: THREE PARKS! TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!! DISAPPOINTMENT!!! coming soon...

I am so jealous you got to see the stunt show!!!! The day we went to DHS it rained the entire day so all the shows were cancelled:sad2: I had really wanted to see it after I found out Herbie was in it! I'm a VW girl, I drive a new beetle and my Dad has a 74 super beetle, so needless to say I wanted to see Herbie badly! Oh well maybe next time. And that confusion over how to get to DTD from the park sounds familiar, we had that same problem on our trip. It seems kinda silly that only buses from the resorts go there...

That sucks about the buses! I hate when stuff like that happens! I liked seeing all the pictures from the Lights/Motors/Action Stunt Show! I kind of want to see that show. We never seem to have time to do that though :(

Awww... It is a nice show. Not amazing like some other Disney shows, but they do a really nice job :) Though I think that's a once over show since it hasn't been updated very often. I'll probably see it again with Lightning McQueen, but yeah if that hadn't happen, wouldn't've seen it again. Yeah... I never went to DTD on my first trip so we didn't know how that worked. Thank goodness we learned that and now I know for future trips (and depending on where I stay may not need that piece of info :))

Yeah... If only I had learned this earlier. That would've been a great tip for my Chorus teacher to make... Glad you liked the pictures! You have to see it at least once and try for a day where it isn't as warm out, because it isn't worth sitting out there in the heat just for that show. I would say try to do it early in the morning and head straight over for the show. It isn't exactly a must-do, but something you should try at least once and odds may be in your favor and you'll be picked from the crowd to help control one of the cars and get a free pin that you can't get anywhere else :goodvibes

CHAPTER 7: THREE PARKS! TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!! DISAPPOINTMENT!!! (Part 1)

After a lot of talking and talking and talking and more talking on the bus ride to Downtown Disney, passing many resorts and everything else, we finally arrived there. I think that may have been the longest bus ride we took, good thing there weren't too many people at the Polynesian, so we got seats. We did still discover how amazingly far Downtown Disney is from everything. We got to the bus stop, got off in the midst of unprecedented commotion and then made our way to the Marketplace.

Jocelyn saw the Christmas store and were pulled in there. We all looked around a bit and I went directly for this little section that had some holiday pins on display. Nobody really wanted to get any Christmas decor, so we left and continued on down. Soon, we found ourselves near Earl of Sandwich, which Taylor began raving about, though we were all full, and headed right across the way to the Pin Trading store.

We went inside and looked around a bit. Jocelyn was eying some pins to buy to trade for newer ones, but never ended up buying anything. I searched the place a few times for the villains collection, but it was nowhere to be found. I was about to buy the limited edition ones but decided against it and left. Outside, we ran right into Ghirardelli, which we went into for another (a few...) free samples (SO GOOD!), then went on our way.

We saw a performance was beginning on the stage we performed on and it was getting hot so we decided to watch. There was also a little stand by the stage selling Italian Ice, so we all bought some and I got another water because it was getting really humid out. After that we sat down on the steps to enjoy the show and our delicious treat! (:goodvibes) The performance was a dance group from Pennsylvania. They were all mostly young and if I do say... not that good, like I know they aren't professionals but I've seen better from that level (a la DSs), though there was this one boy who did pretty well, which is rare in various cases I've seen. We left after the third dance and I brought them inside the World of Disney store.

We walked around a bit in there, Taylor and Jocelyn spending awhile in the jewelry making area, while I went to see if I could something to buy, another pin possibly, but there wasn't really anything. I did end up showing Jocelyn where the 2011 pin was and she bought it, so now Nate, her and I all had one. After that and Taylor being indecisive about buying something, we left.

I had already been through most of the Marketplace, so I decided to head down towards the other end of Downtown Disney, which was my next mission to explore. We went past the walls that concealed construction of the new Legos store and Hyperion Wharf (Why couldn't Disney have waited ten years?) At the end of the refurb walls was the Resident Lake (Lego) Monster. I, of course, had to get a few pictures:

186.jpg

187.jpg

188-1.jpg

189.jpg

After everyone got their pictures in front of this guy, we moved on further past. We saw Pollo Campero and then were face-to-face with T-Rex. We all really wanted to go in and check it out, because it looked so cool, but there seemed to be a line for reservations and I think that was the only possible way to get in. We did though move a bit closer to peek inside because it sounded and looked so cool. After all that we looked further down the road and saw there was only Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba, DisneyQuest and the balloon ride left, which we probably didn't have time or money to do, so we turned back and started going back to the entrance. On our way, I snapped a picture of the top of the entrance to World of Disney near the Lego Store:

190.jpg

We passed by everything, taking another quick stop at Ghirardelli and peeking inside a few other places, as well as playing around in the water-play area. Hey, everyone's a kid in Disney! :)

Then, we arrived at the chaos called the bus-stops. I mean seriously, they really need to expand over here, it is way too small. We got in line for our bus, which contained people staying at all three All Stars. We had to wait awhile, watching as buses with words like Rapunzel and In Training pass by. Seriously what is with those buses? I'm not entirely sure I understand. Even, the Polynesian and monorail resorts bus came by, if only we decided to go there since our plan of attack now was Magic Kingdom for some nightly fun. Then, the bus for ASMu came and we got on and very few from that line were going to that resort, so it was all good.

The bus was off, well... not for too long, since it had to make a stop at the Typhoon Lagoon, which didn't have a large group of people, then we were on our way back. the bus ride was much longer on the way back to our resort than from the Polynesian to Downtown Disney. I wish I had a map of all the parks so I could figure out which resort was closer. Our resort was boring, why not check out more?! I decided to text Nate to see if they were still in Magic Kingdom since that was their plan of attack, he told me in a text I got on our way to Downtown Disney. He didn't answer back throughout the whole bus ride.

After a long bus ride back to the resort, we finally arrived. We all ran off the bus, happy to walk on our legs again and got right into line for Magic Kingdom.

Great report Timmy!

I've always loved the Christmas Store and buy an ornament or two. The dance group was from Pennsylvania, really!? Wow! Love the pictures of you with the lego lake monster! I believe he has a name but in 2006 I named him Greenie xD.

Timmy!!!!! Fantastic updates. Yes, I said updateS. I always get so into it. (: for your DHS day-my first time on ToT was pretty similar to yours. I was sooo scared, but ended up liking it a lot. I have never seen the stunt show, but it seems ok. I am more of a Toy Story Mania or Beauty and the Beast person.
You can't get enough of Mickey Waffles!:thumbsup2

Thanks Val! :)

If my parents would allow me to turn our tree into Disney themed, yeah probably I'd buy something from there or I need a new stocking, since mine is Mickey and getting old :) Yep, they were from Pennsylvania. Oh, thanks! Yeah, he has a name, I think someone said it was... Brickly? I'm not sure...

Thanks, Hannah! And yes, yes you do, but I like that :) I was so terrified about going on it then... WOOHOO! I must go on again! LOL Yeah, it isn't that great, but I think I've seen enough stunt shows now, so I'm not generally pleased with them unless there is an extra element that no other stunt show I've seen has. Also, this one was slow moving and not too engaging. I definitely prefer the BatB show and TSM more than LMA any day!

Nope, you can't (with strawberries! DELISH!)

Geeez, I got behind from being away for Spring Break! I'm all caught up now (: Great updates Timmy!

Awesome, Sara(h)! I hope you didn't get too far behind because some of my updates are... well... LONG! But at least you are all caught up now! Thanks for reading :goodvibes

Great pictures from Lights Motors Action! I've only seen it a couple times and I usually find it pretty entertaining, but maybe because I'm not into those kinds of movies so it doesn't bore me. haha I'll definitely have to see it again when they add Lightning McQueen (kachow!). Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

Yeah, seriously, what is up with the Rapunzel buses? We must've seen a half dozen of those when we were there. I don't get it either. :confused3

Thanks! I think it is a nice show and though the stunts are different, stunt shows I can find mostly anywhere. It will be interesting with Lightning and I'll probably see it again then (Awesome, Cars reference :thumbsup2)

I still don't know, though I wish I did. We could see them swarming around EPCOT, then at Downtown Disney. :confused3 It was so strange...

Ugh, I can't stand those buses at DTD. It's like suddenly they lose total organization and everything turns to chaos. More so for the values - it's like since there's more demand the system can't handle it :confused3 You'll look over at the Beach club line, and everyone gets on, no fuss. You look over at your line for Pop or All Stars and people are pushing and shoving. There used to be added drunk people in the mix too before they closed the clubs. THAT was fun....

Great TR so far! Will you ever get to MK???
