CHAPTER 7: THREE PARKS! TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!! DISAPPOINTMENT!!! (Part 2)

When we got in line for the Magic Kingdom bus, it looked as if we were the only ones who were going. Nobody else had gotten in line for this park, which I thought was kinda peculiar, since it is probably the most popular park at Disney and all the shows were tonight. We also were the only ones out there waiting. We did run inside real quick to check out some merchandise inside Maestro Mickey's. We were in and out pretty quick, since nobody found anything of interest, so we went back to waiting at the stop.

A few buses went by and finally the bus to Magic Kingdom arrived. It took the people on their awhile to get everyone on the bus, because an old lady in a wheelchair was coming, so we were waiting a bit. Then, we all finally got on and were off.

The bus ride to Magic Kingdom from the All Stars is probably the longest of all of them,, since All Stars is a pretty good distance away. I texted Nate to see if he was still at Magic Kingdom and he said he was, but he was leaving now. Jocelyn told her mom and Taylor asked if her cousin was still there through their phones, when we all arrived.

We got off the bus and headed straight into the park. We all had bags, so that was our first order of business. The park seemed very crowded right when we went to go get our bags checked since all lines were full. The lady who checked my bag was very thorough, so I was pretty sure I was safe. When we got past the turnstiles and the bag checkers, we saw the new sign for "Let the Memories Begin!" and had to take a picture:

191.jpg

After that, we headed in and grabbed a map since MK is probably one of the bigger and more complex parts we have been to, though I know the place pretty well, they just needed it in case they were losing me. When, we entered we noticed people were lining up along the sidewalks. I think it was almost time for the Main Street Electrical Parade. I talked to Taylor, Jocelyn and Tina and we decided we wanted to head to Frontierland for a water ride (Splash Mountain) and then another roller coaster (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad). As we headed town Main Street I saw this gorgeous site, that is so amazing, I needed TWO pictures:

192.jpg

193.jpg

Once we had made it past the crowd and about in front of the castle, I had to begin being the tour guide and directing everyone towards Frontierland. The parade was definitely about to begin because the CMs were already coming out with the ropes. We tried to get behind and go through Fantasyland, but they blocked it, though I was already planning to go through Liberty Square.

We got through the crowd at Liberty Square and came up right in front of the Rivers of America. Tina, Jocelyn and Taylor all saw the Haunted Mansion and said they would like to go on that. I said after we get on the rides we planned and we headed off in the direction of Frontierland.

When we finally got to the Splash Mountain/BTMRR area, we saw that there were no logs going into the laughing place. I was a bit confused. I had the funny feeling it was having some technical difficulties, but pushed it aside and went down to get in the standby line. We were stopped by a CM who said the ride would be up-and-running in just a bit. We made a snap decision to grab some fastpasses so we could just jump right on later.

We got out of the queue area and headed towards Big Thunder Mountain. This was the only ride Taylor really wanted to do so we were doing it. I also love this ride, it was the ride I went on the most my last trip. The line was pretty short because of the parade starting soon so we got right on and were off on the wildest ride in the wild west :)

My friends were okay with the ride. They said they liked other rides better but they still liked it. Tina definitely liked it since it was the first roller coaster we had yet to go on that she wasn't totally terrified. The parade was going to start up soon and they were getting hungry so we needed to get across to Golden Oak Outpost before it came around. So, we ran as soon as we got off BTMRR and got in line for some food at Golden Oak Outpost.

I got some chicken fingers and fries like I did when I was last there. So did Jocelyn and Tina. Taylor decided to get a veggie burger or just a regular burger. They all seemed to enjoy their meal, actually, they enjoyed it enough to want to go back the next day when we would be spending the entire day there. :thumbsup2

We, then decided to head down to Adventureland to go ride POTC. I hadn't finished my fries, so I stuffed them in my back since I loved their fries and headed on down. When we got there, we found no wait and just ran right through the queue and got right on to go where "Dead men tell no tales". Near the end of the ride, before the dog with the key scene, there is an animatronic with his leg hanging over the edge swinging. This was a very... distasteful leg and my friends were afraid it would just fall off and land on them. We called it "The Leg" (:lmao:) Besides that they definitely enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean.

When we got off, we were in search of a bathroom and found that the closest one in the gift shop following the ride was closed, so we were searching through Adventureland trying to find one. After finally finding it, I heard the music for the Main Street Electrical Parade as it came down our way, so I took a few pictures through the pathway between Adventureland and (I think) the midway point between LS and Frontierland:

After Jocelyn came out we all headed back in the direction of the Golden Oak Outpost and were ready to go running across to get to Splash Mountain. We were blocked off so I took the time to take some more pictures of the parade:

Then, we were allowed to run across just before the parade was ending. Splash Mountain was still closed and it was time for our fastpasses and these were probably the last ones of the day since it was so late. Upset, we walked away back to the parade and the rest of Frontierland. I said this would be a good time to go to the Haunted Mansion since we had time. Then, Jocelyn got a text from her mom to meet them in Fantasyland for the Wishes! fireworks tonight. So now we had a big decision to make and we were clearly indecisive on this matter.

What were we going to do next?

Ugh, I can't stand those buses at DTD. It's like suddenly they lose total organization and everything turns to chaos. More so for the values - it's like since there's more demand the system can't handle it :confused3 You'll look over at the Beach club line, and everyone gets on, no fuss. You look over at your line for Pop or All Stars and people are pushing and shoving. There used to be added drunk people in the mix too before they closed the clubs. THAT was fun....

Great TR so far! Will you ever get to MK???

Yes, so true. Its as if they don't think people will go shopping down there... uhh... yeah they will go to DTD! And the line will be like 5 people per stop. Uhhh... no they won't! It was just awful being in that line. I couldn't imagine what it would be like with Pleasure Island opened :rollseyes2

Thanks! Welllll... look at the next update! :)

Fabulous update! The MK is def my favorite park, and it sounds like y'all were doing my favorite things. I have that BTM spill about keeping your hands, arms, feet, and legs, inside....blah blah memorized. (in Spanish, too!) It is my favorite, after all. The Main street electrical is great, too! That music is so catchy. (: Can't wait for the next update, Timmy!

Thanks Hannah!

MK is awesome, nuff said. I actually have the Space Mountain spiel about keeping your hands, arms, feet and legs inside yadahyadahyadah memorized as well. I have basically the whole audio on that ride memorized LOL I don't have the Spanish though :) Yeah, MSEP is very catchy, I want it on my iPod! :mickeyjum I'll update as soon as I can. :goodvibes

Really good so far! Sounds like lots of fun...
I hope your finish your other trip report too... i want to know how your 1st trip went! :)

Thanks! Yeah, it was tons of fun, but seriously when is WDW not fun. :confused3

I've just started going back to that one. I uploaded a ton of photos from that trip and found some ones that I had of our first day. I'm going to be updating that soon. :)

AN UPDATE OF MANY THINGS

So I'm going out of the TR and just stopping for some announcements:

1st Announcement is I've just re-opened, restarted, renewed and all the other "re's" for my first TR. The link is in my sig for anyone who is interested. I assure you it is just as awesome as this TR, no doubt about it :)

2nd Announcement is my birthday is coming up in just a few days. I'm wicked excited! This may possibly mean my laptop will finally be FIXED! This is pretty miraculous since its been "broken" for basically over six months. It also may mean a whole splurge of Disney movies and iTunes gift cards. Then, more fun times with friends! Yeah its pretty awesome :) So I just wanted to be excited about that.

And I think that's just about it. I'll be updating soon enough for everyone :)

Love your trip report!
You remind me so much of my oldest grand! You have a way with words, can't wait for the next installment.

Oh, and Happy Almost Birthday!party:

Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying it! :goodvibes

Oh, that's a good thing to have a way with words, right? Haha I'll update ASAP

Awwww... thanks! After this birthday, one year until I can get my license :)

Happy early birthday! Great update. That stinks Splash Mountain was closed! I would totally be upset too, that's one of my absolute favorites. Love your castle pics though. I always love seeing the shots of the peaceful castle just sitting there with all the crowds busily walking by:goodvibes

Yes a nice turn of phrase. A bit quirky to me but I'm old:lmao: and I hear Will (my grand) say those same type of things.
(I'm a retired teacher so I do know a bit about it. Spelling errors on Trip reports don't count. LOL)
Hmm, my grand can get his provisional license at 15y 6 mo here so we have a little while. The roads will be safe for a bit:scared1:

Thanks Clarice! :) It was awful since Splash Mountain rarely breaks down so I was worried it would continue into the next day with these problems... Moving on... I think any pic of Cinderella Castle with or without people is amazing. It just symbolizes that Disney magic so well :goodvibes

Haha. Ok then! :)

Oh, well I think the spelling errors are usually more so typos. My strength is more spelling than grammar :goodvibes

That's when I am allowed to drive on the highway and practice and such at 15 and a half. I can't get my real license until I'm 16. So its very similar here. :goodvibes

CHAPTER 7: THREE PARKS! TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!! DISAPPOINTMENT!!! (Part 3)

Trying to sway my friends to go on the Haunted Mansion instead of seeing the fireworks, I told them we would talk about as we walked towards HM. We walked, weaving our way through the crowd towards the Haunted Mansion. They all seemed to want to see the fireworks more than the Haunted Mansion, even when we saw the short wait for HM, they still wanted to see it. In the end, I was disregarded and we headed off to the hub as Wishes was about to begin.

As we edged closer to the hub we heard the sounds of Wishes about to begin. Jocelyn then said her family was in Fantasyland so we couldn't go to the hub, though we already weren't going to make it there anyways, so we raced into Fantasyland just as the show started. People were gathered in one area behind the carousel and there was a huge gap in front of the carousel. Jocelyn was trying to find her family, while I pulled myself near the carousel. The show was about to begin so we stayed where we were.

Tina and I pulled out our cameras for pictures of probably the most iconic show in Disney, the fireworks at Magic Kingdom:

I also took a video of one part of Wishes. I moved the camera a bit during one part where Jiminy is talking so you can see where we were:

I have to say... I'm so glad that my friends pulled me to the show over HM. The fireworks was amazing and with all the music and dialogue behind it, it was just a great show. The whole meaning behind it was very heart-warming. I understand now why some get misty-eyed during this show, it really is that powerful. I really want to see it from the front next time since I heard Tinkerbell comes flying out. That must be cool! :goodvibes

After the show, we went to look for Jocelyn's family again. They were right next to Dumbo when we found them and they told us they were heading towards Tomorrowland right now. I really wanted to ride Space Mountain so I said let's go for it and we were pretty close to there.

We headed on down to Tomorrowland and went to the back where Space Mountain was. It didn't really seem like there was much of a line from our stand-point so we ran up to find a CM blocking the lines. He told us the ride was experiencing some technical problems. :headache: We, then just decided to go to Haunted Mansion instead. Jocelyn's family was going to do some other stuff around MK, so we split off and went on our way.

I decided to go back the way we came instead of just going across the hub, which would've been the quicker way. I just went my own way, though Taylor kept on yelling at me for going in this direction. We would get there, no matter what!

Finally we arrived at the creepy little mansion next to the colonial charm of Libery Square. The wait didn't seem to long, so we got right in line for the ride. As we travelled down the queue, I noticed there were refurb walls all along it, blocking view of the headstones. I was kinda upset since I love seeing the Leota stone that opens its eyes and looks at you. :( I tried to ignore that fact and turned towards the other side, where you could see the "entrance" to the mansion and took some pictures:

245.jpg

246.jpg

Soon enough, we were ushered inside the mansion and joining the 999 happy haunts that live within...

The ride was great as always. My friends were totally freaked out at the beginning. They thought this would be a very startling ride, which it is in the pre-show. Then, throughout the ride, Taylor and Jocelyn kept on shouting to me from their doom buggy, "Timmy, when does it get scary?" and all these other questions that shouldn't be asked while others are trying to enjoy a ride. GRRR... In the end, they said they didn't like it and thought it was super boring. I wanted to face-palm myself then. I think they were the first people EVER to say they hated that ride. Ugghh... well they didn't get to experience the fun ending, since there was a scrim over the hitchhiking ghosts part and projects were put in front of the scrims. GRRR... Oh, it was definitely not a good week for the HM.

We checked the time and noticed it was starting to get late, so we headed back to the hub. Jocelyn also got another text from her mom saying they were outside Casey's getting hot dogs, waiting for the second MSEP that night. So, we ran along knowing it would be hard to get out with the parade going.

We got out of Liberty Square fairly quickly and were soon at the hub, where everyone was gathered along the streets. We found Jocelyn's mom and Jocelyn's littlest brother in his stroller, enjoying some ice cream. Jocelyn asked again for more money and her mom didn't give her any. She continued to whine (It was getting really late now) and her mom got her off the subject and asked us what we did. Immediately, Jocelyn and Taylor went in on how they HATED the Haunted Mansion that it totally wasn't worth it. I stepped in to say I still like it. It was to no avail and they continued to talk about it. Then, they mentioned how the only scary part was when we went down a hill backwards. Apparently, only where there was a thrill, not spook or creep was involved, was called scary. *shrugs*

We, then told them, we had to head out since we were going to be late getting back. They agreed and asked where we were going to be tomorrow. We told them here for the whole day since we hadn't done all of Magic Kingdom yet and there was SOOO much to do. They said they would join us later in the day, since we said there was a supposed morning EMH there. So, we agreed and continued on our way, hoping not to meet up with the lovely MSEP.

We made it out and were soon running off to the bus-stop. We made it with only a few people on the bus with us (or we were on our own, I forget...) We, then headed off on our way back to the All Stars. We arrived at the All Stars, stopping at Sports first then letting us lucky ones at Music off to go run back to our rooms (or pool). A few of our upper-classmen friends called out to us at the Guitar Pool to come swim. We agreed and continued on our way, though I had to take picture of the Three Caballeros in the middle:

247.jpg

Before I split off from Jocelyn, Taylor and Tina, I told them we would get up early again for EMH at MK. They agreed and we went off to our rooms to get changed to go to the pool.

I got in my room to find Nate and Rishi already bustling inside. They looked like they had just gotten back from the pool and ready to go to bed. I asked them if they were going back out, but they were obviously pooped. They told me they didn't have a very magical day today with their group. I didn't want to hear about it in too much detail, but it involved Trysten and Ian. They said they were only going to travel through the parks, Rishi and Nate since they were done with the big group. Even when I asked them to join us at MK, they didn't want to, so it must've been pretty awful today.

They said they weren't going back out to the pools, so I stayed in the room and texted Jocelyn to tell her and left her a reminder that we would be getting up early for EMH. I got a text from her back then and she said they couldn't get up early, as her chaperone told her and they were already asleep in her room. So I guess that meant a change of plans... Oh well... I let it slide by and once Big Nate was out of the shower, I got changed, brushed my teeth, took a shower and began napping, almost going to sleep.

Soon, our chaperone Dr. Jim came by with our dining cards and I got up. He told us we had night EMH instead of morning EMH at MK. I was pretty happy then since I wasn't to worry about missing morning EMH at MK, but we still had night-time. I checked the times schedule I got at the front and saw there was Fantasmic also tomorrow night. I probably would fit that in, in case I got all I wanted to get done at Magic Kingdom. After that, I got my bag altogether, prepared some other things for the next day and went to sleep.

CHAPTER 8: YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE THE B-E-S-T! coming soon!

Thanks, I'm glad you like them both! :) I can't believe you caught up on both LOL I'll update as soon as I can :goodvibes

ikr,i usually never catch up on TRs but i actually like this 1!!

It seems you did a few good things while you were at the MK! I love Wishes, and I have the soundtrack on my iPod. I normally have a room at the Grand flo with a MK view, so I watch it from the balcony. It's special wherever you watch it. Oh, and the HM is one of my favorites! But, my mom hates it! Normally, she refuses to even ride it. I don't have a clue why, though. So, your friends are not alone in the Hate HM club, unfortunately. I can't wait to hear about your MK adventures next! (:

Did as much as I could with the time I had :) I have a video of Wishes from Bay Lake Tower on my iPod, you don't get a good view, but I love the music. :goodvibes That Grand Floridian keeps on getting more and more intriguing. I really want to go there now. Darn you, other TRs! LOL Oh... well that will just help me get over the fact they hate it since I'm still in shock. I've only heard people who hate it, are scared of it. They hate it because its boring. :sad2: Well, the nice thing is, when I go back to Disney I won't have to endure the interruptions while I ride rides like HM again.
