CHAPTER 7: THREE PARKS! TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES!! DISAPPOINTMENT!!! (Part 2)
When we got in line for the Magic Kingdom bus, it looked as if we were the only ones who were going. Nobody else had gotten in line for this park, which I thought was kinda peculiar, since it is probably the most popular park at Disney and all the shows were tonight. We also were the only ones out there waiting. We did run inside real quick to check out some merchandise inside Maestro Mickey's. We were in and out pretty quick, since nobody found anything of interest, so we went back to waiting at the stop.
A few buses went by and finally the bus to Magic Kingdom arrived. It took the people on their awhile to get everyone on the bus, because an old lady in a wheelchair was coming, so we were waiting a bit. Then, we all finally got on and were off.
The bus ride to Magic Kingdom from the All Stars is probably the longest of all of them,, since All Stars is a pretty good distance away. I texted Nate to see if he was still at Magic Kingdom and he said he was, but he was leaving now. Jocelyn told her mom and Taylor asked if her cousin was still there through their phones, when we all arrived.
We got off the bus and headed straight into the park. We all had bags, so that was our first order of business. The park seemed very crowded right when we went to go get our bags checked since all lines were full. The lady who checked my bag was very thorough, so I was pretty sure I was safe. When we got past the turnstiles and the bag checkers, we saw the new sign for "Let the Memories Begin!" and had to take a picture:
After that, we headed in and grabbed a map since MK is probably one of the bigger and more complex parts we have been to, though I know the place pretty well, they just needed it in case they were losing me. When, we entered we noticed people were lining up along the sidewalks. I think it was almost time for the Main Street Electrical Parade. I talked to Taylor, Jocelyn and Tina and we decided we wanted to head to Frontierland for a water ride (Splash Mountain) and then another roller coaster (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad). As we headed town Main Street I saw this gorgeous site, that is so amazing, I needed TWO pictures:
Once we had made it past the crowd and about in front of the castle, I had to begin being the tour guide and directing everyone towards Frontierland. The parade was definitely about to begin because the CMs were already coming out with the ropes. We tried to get behind and go through Fantasyland, but they blocked it, though I was already planning to go through Liberty Square.
We got through the crowd at Liberty Square and came up right in front of the Rivers of America. Tina, Jocelyn and Taylor all saw the Haunted Mansion and said they would like to go on that. I said after we get on the rides we planned and we headed off in the direction of Frontierland.
When we finally got to the Splash Mountain/BTMRR area, we saw that there were no logs going into the laughing place. I was a bit confused. I had the funny feeling it was having some technical difficulties, but pushed it aside and went down to get in the standby line. We were stopped by a CM who said the ride would be up-and-running in just a bit. We made a snap decision to grab some fastpasses so we could just jump right on later.
We got out of the queue area and headed towards Big Thunder Mountain. This was the only ride Taylor really wanted to do so we were doing it. I also love this ride, it was the ride I went on the most my last trip. The line was pretty short because of the parade starting soon so we got right on and were off on the wildest ride in the wild west
My friends were okay with the ride. They said they liked other rides better but they still liked it. Tina definitely liked it since it was the first roller coaster we had yet to go on that she wasn't totally terrified. The parade was going to start up soon and they were getting hungry so we needed to get across to Golden Oak Outpost before it came around. So, we ran as soon as we got off BTMRR and got in line for some food at Golden Oak Outpost.
I got some chicken fingers and fries like I did when I was last there. So did Jocelyn and Tina. Taylor decided to get a veggie burger or just a regular burger. They all seemed to enjoy their meal, actually, they enjoyed it enough to want to go back the next day when we would be spending the entire day there.
We, then decided to head down to Adventureland to go ride POTC. I hadn't finished my fries, so I stuffed them in my back since I loved their fries and headed on down. When we got there, we found no wait and just ran right through the queue and got right on to go where "Dead men tell no tales". Near the end of the ride, before the dog with the key scene, there is an animatronic with his leg hanging over the edge swinging. This was a very... distasteful leg and my friends were afraid it would just fall off and land on them. We called it "The Leg"
lmao
Besides that they definitely enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean.
When we got off, we were in search of a bathroom and found that the closest one in the gift shop following the ride was closed, so we were searching through Adventureland trying to find one. After finally finding it, I heard the music for the Main Street Electrical Parade as it came down our way, so I took a few pictures through the pathway between Adventureland and (I think) the midway point between LS and Frontierland:
After Jocelyn came out we all headed back in the direction of the Golden Oak Outpost and were ready to go running across to get to Splash Mountain. We were blocked off so I took the time to take some more pictures of the parade:
Then, we were allowed to run across just before the parade was ending. Splash Mountain was still closed and it was time for our fastpasses and these were probably the last ones of the day since it was so late. Upset, we walked away back to the parade and the rest of Frontierland. I said this would be a good time to go to the Haunted Mansion since we had time. Then, Jocelyn got a text from her mom to meet them in Fantasyland for the Wishes! fireworks tonight. So now we had a big decision to make and we were clearly indecisive on this matter.
What were we going to do next?
