Good Morning Chicks and Rooster.

Our trip next year is February 2 - 8 (Mardi Gras in Disney).

GD I'm sure you'll be able to start adding to your fund again real soon.

Susan it sounds like your employeer doesn't have that Disney magic. :wizard: Some people just don't get it. :sad2:

Have a wonderful day.

I will survive.

I don't know the exact dates of our 2008 trip. I think it's July 6-10. We'll probably bookend the cruise with a few days at The World before and after. KAMommy is the numbers person - she just tells me what to pack and what day we're leaving...

Anyway, I probably won't be around much today. Too much work and only today to get it all done. I'll have my laptop with me in DC so maybe I'll get a chance to chat in the evenings - I'll have to play that by ear.

GD if I don't see you later today have a great time in DC. I went there once and our trip was way too short. So much to see and do, but so little time to do it all in. I hope to get back there someday.

Have fun!

:guilty: :sad1: Heavy sigh...:sad1: :guilty:

:grouphug:
I would like to request a moment of silence to something that has been a part of my life for such a short, yet meaningful, time. As you know, I set up a "Falcon Fund" so that I could purchase the huge Lego Millennium Falcon when it comes out in October. I had saved up about $115 from my basic weekly budget over the last bunch of weeks.

This evening, right before bedtime, my son tells us that he needs $30 and another $25 for a couple of school functions - both due tomorrow morning. Naturally, the only place for that much cash to be in the house was my "Falcon Fund".

So now my "Falcon Fund" is mere shell of its former robust self - almost half of it gone in the blink of an eye. It is times like these that I reflect on how fleeting a time we have here on this earth, and...

I can't go on, I'm too broken up...:sad2:

GD--Go find your copy of Disney Addictions and How They Affect the Ones You Love . You should have received one upon check-in at your 5th resort stay.
You'll remember it's the big yellow hardback with this photo on the cover--

Find chapter 82 titled "Household Budgeting: Orthodontia vs. Concierge Level".

This, of course, is the chapter that takes on serious matters such as when to allow room in your household budget for things like toilet paper, garbage pick-up, solid food and emergency medical care and when to forego on basic comforts in favor of saving for more important things like park hoppers, snow globes, Falcon funds and tickets to HDDR.

Basic tenets suggest that when a fund of any sort is looted, the looter or the benefactor of said lootage must restore funds within 72 hours or incur substantial penalties.

Penalties differ slightly depending on whether the pilfering activity is critical to family health and harmony or inconsequential personal gain such as emergency lattes or postage. Please note that repeat offendors may be sentenced to Disney deprivaton including but not limited to loss of DIS priveleges and will be required to watch Drake & Josh on a 24 hour loop.

In regards to school functions, this chapter clearly indicates that special attention should be given to the type of function and the relative importance to the student's overall well-being.
Example:
...Field trip to the local university for a musical production of Camelot--not lootable.
...Field trip to the local university for a musical production of Peter Pan--lootable.
...Fees for participating in a schoolwide celebration of the student body surpassing performance goals on standardized testing--not lootable
...Fees for participating in a schoolwide celebration of the re-release of Mary Poppins--lootation debatable
...Lab fees imposed on students registering for advanced biology--not lootable
...Library fines incurred by student refusing to return copy of Swiss Family Robinson--lootable

You'll have to analyze your son's specific requests to determine how to categorize them and therefore how to go about replacing the funds. You may find that his requests fall under the "I just gotta have ten bucks quick, and I'll pay you back by washing all the windows this weekend" category.

Your stash will be feeling like its old self in no time. Or at least your windows will be clean.

:lmao: I'm coming to you for any legal advice I may have. :lmao: Is there a "Statute of Limitations" on any of this? :rotfl2:

:wave2: Just popping in for a few. Took a couple of Advil PM, so I don't know how much longer I'll function as a coherent adult :upsidedow If I start babbling, just tell me to shut up and go to bed. My teeth are already feeling the effects.

I'm beginning to think about going the first part of May 2008 with Ethan. How's that sound? Better than the beginning of April?

Morning all! It's going to be another beautiful day here. That means after school, the kids can run themselves wild outside:cool1: . Got alot to do today, but I'll pop in later.
