When it comes to that sad last day at Disney and its time to leave how does it work? Do you just pack up and leave or do you have to stop at the gate and offically check out. What time are you allowed to start leaving?

You are allowed to leave anytime, we are usually on the road before 6:00 AM. Disney normally puts a receipt under your windshield wiper, or someplace easily seen. DW checks it to insure it is correct and, assuming it is, we just leave. If you do not have a receipt, or you need to correct it, you can stop it at the Outpost office.

KPSmithSr is on it.

To expand, if you have a credit card on file during your stay and just drive off to head home, it will be charged if any balance remains.

No credit card on file means nothing was charged and you paid any balance due when you checked in.

We left on Saturday morning. We had paid cash for our site for the balance due when we checked in and left no credit card on file for charges during our stay. On Saturday morning there was no sheet under my windshield but no one has called, nothing has hit the card (deposit was made on card). I just hit the road.

So basically, you can take off. If you have money due they will hit your card or otherwise come find you.

You can leave early whenever you want but the official latest checkout time is 11:00 a.m. so they can clean the site/cabin (they do clean the sites) because chances are someone else is checking in.

Sounds good...My DH said when it is the check out day we have to leave bright and early. I was worried we would have to wait till the CM came in in the morning. Thanks!
