filling out my check-in for feb. noticed there no longer is a preference section for room, elevator, high floor, etc. is this new or just a glitch. just curious because i rarely use that section

If you are a DVC member checking into a DVC room, chat with Member Services to give your requests.

And then skip the section of online check-in for requests without asking for/checking any options. If you do it will erase what Member Services put in for you. Requests can be more detailed with Member Services.

As noted, you should not use the page of requests provided with on-line check-in if you have a DVC reservation but instead should contact MS by phone, chat, or email.

You do not mention for which resort you saw a change but Disney has done changes in the past, although not necessarily all DVC resorts at once. Over the years, the online room requests have gone from being many specific requests to a smaller number that are less specific, and a number of the requests that can now be done with online check-in have become ridiculous, e.g., you can request high floor at Jambo but that is a waste since all DVC rooms are on the fifth floor (6th for the 5 club level 2BR lock-offs), and you can request "near elevator" at Kidani, but that request, which does not provide the name of the elevator (e.g., Timon, Rafiki ) can be met by putting you in any room in the Kidani building because each of the two wings has three separate elevator locations.

I just did online check in for Poly. I had choice of ground floor, Tokelau, or Moorea. (Staying in a standard view DVC studio.) No mention of elevator or high floor. (Both request sections were identical, with option to request a room that was ready earlier regardless of requests.)

I also did check in a few days ago for Beach Club, a DVC studio. That did offer the option of near elevator.

I don’t often do requests so I’m not sure if this is normal or not.
