Checking in before we checked out

We are doing a split stay in September, however, the day we switch hotels, is also the night MNSSHP, and we will have BBB reservations as well! So, our plan was to check in to our new resort extremely early (before 9am), but stay in our old resort room until 11am and check out time. But I would like to know if that is actually possible? Can we be checked into the new resort before we have been checked out of the old one? Or do we need to check out first?

Thankfully, we are SSR --> OKW and doing BBB at DTD, so everything is all next door to each other. We also have the benefits of a car. Either way (checking in or out first) is manageable, but it would be better to check in, then out.

Yes there is no problem with checking into the new resort before you check out of the old one, (by the way 9am is not all that “early” I usually am there at 7am sharp). Of course there is certainly no guarantee that your room will be ready, but at least the “paperwork” is done

Okay, maybe we should go 'earlier' then! :rotfl: At least with them being around the corner from each other, we can just roll out of bed and go over. Do you think they'll mind if I check-in in my pyjamas? Save a few minutes getting dressed? :lmao:

Our plan is one of us to go and check-in, go back to the other hotel. If the new room is ready, move in straight away, if it's not, then stay in old room until 10ish before taking everything over to luggage store at new hotel (so it's already there), then go to DTD, do our BBB appointments, eat there, then come back, by which time we should be able to get into our new room! I HOPE!

Dinner is set for 4:30pm at the GF! :scared1:

we never go to check out
bill is usually on the door first thing in the morning and as we have a credit card on to our account it is all taken care of
so no need to go
as for your bags you can get bell services to take them over to the new resort for you , just give them a call before you leave the room and they will take care of everything for you
and when you get into your new room give them another call and they will take them to you
saves alot of carrying bags

I would suggest thinking about pushing back your 4:30 GF ressie time if you're planning to have access to your room beforehand to freshen up, etc. just to give yourself some extra insurance time in case you get room later than anticipated - DVC states check-in time is AFTER 4 pm :scared1:. Although it's never happened to us personally (latest we've ever gotten room was around 3:30; and most probably it will turn out you'll get your room before 4pm, just keep it this in mind that it can & does happen that members sometimes do not get in until 4 or later despite the fact that they've done all the front desk paperwork, etc early in the morning.

If you use Bell Services to transport your luggage from resort to resort you'd just need to be in your room at resort 1 for them to pickup(unless you take it to bell stand yourself) and then when you are in your room at resort 2 you can call them to bring it up. It would save you having to stop over at resort you're switching to for the second time in same morning to drop off luggage ( the resort will give you a number to call so you may check back during the day on when you can get into your room). And if you planned to possibly go to the pool at your new resort you may want to pack a small bag with swimsuits, etc. to keep with you in case you don't get your room until later in afternoon; there's changing facilities at the pool.

Best wishes :goodvibes & have a wonderful trip :thumbsup2

If you can change your dinner reservation, good. If you can't, I wouldn't worry too much. You are traveling non-peak and checking in to OKW, both of which make it more likely that you will get a room by 4:00 PM. Have fun!

That's the way we do it almost every trip and it works great. Have a wonderful vacation. :goodvibes
