Checking in at BWV?

Which is the best check-in time for BWV (std view 2 br NS, Sunday)?

  • Early as possible -- get 'er done and out of the way to enjoy the day!

  • Noon-ish. CMs will know what's available by then, and can give you your options.

  • 4 p.m. THat's check-in time, after all!

  • It doesn't matter -- it's all one crazy crap shoot anyway.

Wondering if there's a better window of opportunity for check-in, if you're already on-site and could pick any particular time.

We will be at BCV on Sat and moving to BWV on Sunday. We don't intend to hit the parks that day -- in fact, we will probably be over at SAB since BCV CMs told me that even though we check out that day, we can still use that pool for remainder of day. Our plans ofr day include bfast at Cape May at 9, pool time, ESPN or B&C for lunch, buying groceries, and of course -- checking in and moving over to BWV. Just not sure when the best time is to do the check in, or does it even matter?

At BWV, we're staying in a std view 2 br, and only requests were NS med reasons and upper floor. Not like we're vying for a BW view or anything -- we're flexible in that dept. -- but we MUST have that NS room! Does it serve one best to go at the first available time (i.e. 8 am?) Or do you get a better choice if you go a bit later (say 11 am?) Or should we just wait until the rooms are clean and ready (4 pm?) I suppose if I checked in at 8 am they would give me a pager thingy, which I could just keep with me at the pool 'til it rang? We don't reallly want to get the groceries until we know our room is ready -- just don't feel like having it hauled twice (once to storage, then to room). And it might be nice to have the room as soon as possible in case my nephew (8 mos) wants to nap after lunch. What IS the earliest check in time, by the way -- is it 8 am?

We're getting excited -- only a few weeks to go -- and my mind is in hyper drive! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/359.gif' alt='Zany' border=0></a>

THANKS!

Didn't do us a bit of good to check in at 845am. But I think all the rooms were preassigned and they were at capacity.

Checking in early may help if there are vacancies for that night or the night before.

I voted crap shoot.

I'm surprised the censor didn't kick out "crap." I was almost kicked off the forum for less than that.

..... so we just naturally check-in when we arrive. It really has nothing to do with hoping to get into the room early or trying to get our requests filled, it's just the first to check off on our imaginary "to do" list. We were pleasantly surprised once when the room was ready at 10:30.

I've stayed in standard view rooms several times when the resort is at capacity. Always requested N/S and always received it. Once or twice, the room was ready early, the rest not until nearly 4.

Since you are in the "neighborhood" and Sunday is a very busy check in day, my advice is to walk over before breakfast and check in. The line is less likely to be long early in the day and you can just call later in the day to get your room number. Also, you can make sure you have your N/S room - once you've got the keys, your room asignment is set even though you may not be told the number until later. Check out of the BCV whenever it's convenient.

P.S. Don't know when you are going - we have traveled in early December, mid- January and February (President's Week). Room was always pre-assigned. No "choices" to be had - but we always received a very nice room.

Best wishes -

I agree with Carol, I would get there early. They usually pre-assign rooms but if someone else who gets there earlier is not happy, they may "swap" your room if you have not checked in yet.

The one time we got our room early, the CM sorta said our room wasn't ready, but if we didn't mind being in another building, we could move in right away.

Are you referring to OKW? There's only one "building" at BWV.

Best wishes-

Thanks, folks!

The trip is in August (just a scant few weeks away! WooHoo!) Not sure how busy it will be -- although my sis was able to get a 1BR ressie no sweat for sun-Fri at about 3-4 mos out, so if THAT's any indication.... probably more crowded than January, less crowded than New Years, Nuf said!

As for language kicking one off the Boards -- hmmm... I wasn't referring to excrement, but rather, the game. Guess they could sub out my words and say "roll of the dice"... ahh the joys of censorship.

Yeah, I think I will do the b'fast run to check in. Maybe something will be open, even, since it will be a Sunday and folks don't always like those wkend pts. TIme will very soon tell!

I am curious though -- so not many folks have ever been even offered a choice of rooms available? And they truly are pre-assigned?
