Still afraid to book but I appreciate the input!!

After what we just went through with Delta CS...I don't blame you one bit!

could NOT pass up this morning's fare of $69 for flight 1221 on Delta!!! Even with the $15 baggage charge (only need 1 bag for the 2 of us) this is a great deal. That gives me a total, with taxes & fees, of $355 R/T for the 2 of us and I was willing to go for $400 so I am VERY happy.

Now I have to watch the flight every day!!! Thanks for all the help & support here.

We just booked Delta 1229 from BDL and 1238 from MCO in Oct for 218. These are both nonstop - lets hope that Delta doesn't mess with these flights again.

UPDATE - so we bought our tickets Wednesday night for 218 each - then we saw today that they dropped to 138 ! Thats 160 dollar difference.

BUT - we were able to change our tickets to the lower price !!

We saved ourselves 160 bucks...that will pay for the car rental !!!!

The 6:50 is standard for Delta EVERY day.

I hope you're right! I just booked Flight 1221 at 650am out of BDL on Aug 22nd!

UPDATE - so we bought our tickets Wednesday night for 218 each - then we saw today that they dropped to 138 ! Thats 160 dollar difference.

BUT - we were able to change our tickets to the lower price !!

We saved ourselves 160 bucks...that will pay for the car rental !!!!

How were you able to get Delta to refund the difference to you? We booked at what we thought was a good price and the next day they dropped as well. I didn't think Delta did refunds/credits and with any change you make, including rebooking at a lower price, they charged $50 per ticket. I figured I was OK with the price when we booked so forget about it. Just curious on how you were able to score a refund.

You can get the lower price if it happens within 24 hours of your original booking - I think its called Delta price guarantee.

about Delta changing our flight (1221 on 9/26). Am I checking for changes correctly? Several times per day (ok I'm OCD about this!) I pull up our itinerary using our Conf # and it still lists the correct flight, time and seating as confirmed. Is there anywhere else I should be checking?

If Delta makes any change to the itinerary from your original booking, you will see it there on your itinerary. Under your flight, there will be a red "Schedule has changed" and then next to it a Blue "View Original" you can click through to see what you originally booked.

Check as often as you like.
Wanted to mention something, though. I currently have three round trip flights booked on Delta, will soon add two more. Out of the three booked, I have one trip where the flight times changed...it's five minutes difference each way. No big deal.

I check my flights about once a week.

ITA - I fly Delta all the time and have never had a flight shifted more than a few minutes. I think it must be specific airports rather than Delta per se... we didn't have a big NWA presence here so maybe that's why? I'm always amazed by these Delta threads because I've never experienced any of these problems! Not to say that anyone that is posting hasn't... **knock wood**

Since "the great NWA rerouting software debacle", I've checked our flights a few times. No movement, whatsoever.

I'm now SOOO confident that they're going to fly, as listed, that I've now updated our flight numbers with Magical Express.

I'm glad I found this thread!! I have flights booked from BDL to MCO on 4/17/2010 returning on 4/24/2010. I just checked my information and it looks like the plane has changed from the airbus to a md-80 and also instead of flying on northwest (where I originally booked online) it's now appears to be a delta flight!! Looks like I'll need to keep an eye on this once things get closer. I just hope they dont do away with the nonstop flight!!

Looks like Dela is shifting the 6:50 non-stop from BDL to MCO to an 8:30 non-stop.

I can't confirm, because Delta's site seems to be unable to retrieve itineraries...but it's looking that way. Flight numbers appear to be changing, too.

Hopefully Delta's rebooking software does a better job than NWA's did.

Looks like Dela is shifting the 6:50 non-stop from BDL to MCO to an 8:30 non-stop.

I can't confirm, because Delta's site seems to be unable to retrieve itineraries...but it's looking that way. Flight numbers appear to be changing, too.

Hopefully Delta's rebooking software does a better job than NWA's did.

I just checked my itinerary again. My 650 nonstop from bdl to mco still shows the same times, but my return flight changed from a 1025 departure to a noon departure. Wonder if and when the 650 flight will change.

Delta' site won't even let me CHECK my itinerary.....says the service in unavailable.

I CAN check my skymiles account, and it shows my departure time to be 6:50, too....but my arrival time is 11:17 (which, FYI, is the arrival time of the listed 8:30 flight). I suspect one just hasnt' caught up with the other, yet.

We'll see.

Edit: Confirmed...the 6:50 flight is no more (after many, many years of operation) and is now a 8:30 flight. We've been switched. Annoying, but we can deal. It's been renumbered, too.

The flight back has changed a bit...about 10 mn earlier. Also renumbered.

For those booked out of BDL...check those flights again!! Times have been adjusted for non-stop. Instead of leaving at 6:50 am...changed to 7:15 am(not a biggie) and the return flight we had booked at 10:25 is now leaving at 12:10

So far my 650am is still the same!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! But about a week ago my return flight changed from 1030am to noon. I was actually ok with that because it gives us a little time to sleep in!!

We leave in three weeks and we are on the 6:50 to MCO and the 5:30 back to BDL. So far no changes. Hoping that we are close enought that there won't be. It looks like Delta did away with the 6:50 on the weekends starting in Sept. Guess the consolidation with NWA is going to cut out the early flights on the weekend. I checked dates for during the week in Sept. and they 6:50 is still there - hope that continues.

Looks like everything up to Labor day looks like it's unchanged. It looks like the 6:50 out of BDL becomes an 8:30 after that.
