I’ve been stalking flight prices for a while four our Feb 23 flight from Houston to HNL. Last week it hit bottom and I booked immediately. The cheapest flights I could find were anywhere from $700-1000 per person. I booked two flights round trip last week for $688 total! The flight times work perfectly for us too. I know that my flight prices will not be any lower than that. Our flights were back at regular price the very next day but I’ve seen a lot of fluctuations over the last few days.

That's great!

Don't get too attached to that flight time, though. I haven't had a single flight in the last two years that wasn't changed at least once, always for the worse.
IKR?!? Maybe we should start picking the worst times and hope that once it changes 6 times, it’ll be the perfect time!! 😂😂😂

We fly out of Houston too so I am curious which airline you scored such good prices on as we are going to both Kauai and Oahu next summer!

In early January of this year, we found April Kauai flights for $588/each on AA. One stop in Phoenix. That was a SCORE!

Is there any particular airline that consistently has better prices to/from Hawaii ?

Nope! Nothing is certain with airline prices changing by the millisecond!

The only thing that is certain is the price submitted with your credit card number.

It’s actually two separate flights. We will leave Friday night IAH-LAX ($162) spend the night and fly LAX-HNL ($172) Saturday morning.

our return flight was pushed 3 hours later and I'm still torn on whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, since it also means we get home 3 hours later.

For another flight (we're also going to Europe), through Delta, the flight prices dropped DRAMATICALLY and I was able to modify the flight to ... the exact same flights/seats and get a very large per person credit. Those flight times haven't changed, at least, but our seats got moved for the worse.

That such a good idea to spend the night and break of the flight. Does LAX have a hotel in the airport or where do you stay?
