For those still looking...

I just checked the airfares this morning (I do almost every mornnig) and snagged 4 tickets LGA-MCO round trip for $145.40 per person for 2/18/06 -2/25/06 on SpiritAir.

I had noticed that airfare had been creaping down and was considering flying out of EWR on Continental for around $220.00 but I was still waiting to see if the NYC airports would come down.

Well, my patience paid off and we won't have to drive or cancel the trip! Woo Hoo!

SpiritAir wouldn't be my first choice but the fare was awesome and I didn't want to miss the boat. I was willing to pay up to $225/pp on the major airlines so $145.40/pp was too good to pass up. The other airlines might start matching but I wasn't willing to take the chance that they wouldn't.

JetBlue never seems to go down on the weekends esp. holiday weekends. And who knows what's going on with Delta/Song? With their troubles they might start having a fire sale for $126/pp! But that's o'kay because I'm more than happy with the fare we got after staring at $300-$400 fares for so long and contemplating having to cancel our trip!

The 7pm flight out on 2/18/06 is still showing as $64/ow (not incl taxes). There are 2 Sunday flights including a morning flight on 2/19/06 for $64/ow. 2 flights available on the return on 2/25/06 for $64/ow.

If you are interested the total including taxes would be 145.40

Thanks for the heads up. Checking different days that week, got a flight for $140.
