check on AP rates

We have had doxies since my daughter who is now 28, was a little girl! We are waiting on AP rates for December also!

Just a silly question......why should we get so worked up about a trip that is scheduled in December for rates....even if they post them in November, you still get the discount.

Or am I missing the idea...?

Because there are a limited number of rooms at each resort where ap rates are available, and these are often subdivided by the views available at that resort. What may happen if you call in November is that there may still be availability at the resort for non-discounted rates, but that some or all of the availability of discounted rates might have been exhausted. It would not be too unusual to look in the AP rate thread several days after they have been released to have someone post "Called about resort X, ' a' & 'b' type rooms at ap rate sold out, only 'c' available at $XXX."

If you want a specific type or view room at a particular resort, call early. I know I'm shooting for AKL .

No, no October AP rates. Code good starting 10/31. I just got an AP email. Rates same as email discounts that were sent out earlier to a select few. Values $49. mods $79.

Rates are avail. for Oct. I just booked 4 nights, Columbus Day Weekend. Was on hold for ONE HOUR!

I think availability is somewhat limited in Oct. I'm afraid it's going to be crowded! Oct. used to be slow, but now with the F&W festival and MNSSHP it must be a busier time.

I can absolutely confirm that there are AP rates out for Oct.

Now get on the phone and settle in for a bit, because you are going to be on hold for a good long while.

The CM said the code for the Std. room at POR for Oct. 16-18 (MNSSHP) was sold out... so she checked and found a water view for us and the total w/ tax was $110.39 for each ngts. (Orig. I was paying $144 per ngt for stand).

Does anyone know how much for WL std? (I remember last year, it was VERY reasonable...should I change it from POR -waterview to WL std?!!)

lenshanem, look at the bottom of your email. It mentioned 9-30 to 10-30 there, says there are discounts available for this timeframe too at selected resorts. I got 2 email messages and it says it on both.

Also remember, October will have higher rates than November, since October's discounts are based on regular rate season, and November's is value season.

Could not get any rooms at WL for our stay in late October. That resort must be filled. I've seen many who are unable to book AP rates there. I ended up at the Poly--not too shabby.
