check my dates, please?

OK, ready to reserve!! Please, help a 'newbie' out.

We're planning on reserving a preferred site for 6 nites.

Looking at the following 3 possible choices, all Sunday arrival/Saturday departure. I'm hoping the crowds will be low to moderate as opposed to 'OMG!'. I'm hoping that spring breaks will be over by 4/19 and that Cinco de Mayo doesn't draw a huge crowd.

Our choices in order are;
Apr 19 - 25
Apr 26 - May 2
May 3 - May 9

If there's anything that screams 'NO!' about any of these dates, like conventions or major gatherings, please let me know. I'm so excited but nervous about the trip since I realize WDW is nothing like DLR and this will probably be my only trip.

I really never thought I'd be going to WDW, it's been such a dream but never thought it might come true. I should have known better. After all, 'a dream is a wish your heart makes', right?

Yes a dream is a wish your heart makes! Don't know about those dates as we always go to Fort Wilderness in October, and in fact, will be there a month from now!!! So excited!!!

Any of those dates should be great. Far enough away from Easter and the horrid spring break crowds (done that twice. Never again). School will still be in so none of the summer crowds yet.

Weather should be perfect.

I'd pick any of them, but sooner the better. So, I'd go with the April 19-25.

April 19 - 25 is school Spring break for much of New England (Patriots Day). We go over this time when it doesn't line up with Easter. There are crowds but it is not unmanageable.

My two cents is that last week. The more in May you get, the further away from various school spring breaks and the weather is just THAT much warmer.

There are always lines pretty much year round kind of hard to get around that. April is busy here in Florida I would choose later in the month and book it now. Be sure to do fast passes for the more popular rides. Also sign up for my disney experience and download the app onto your cell phone as well. Weather will be nice in April. Worth repeating...... Book now

Stormy, I think any of the dates you picked will be good, most of Florida schools spring breaks end the first week of April.
If you are reserving a full hook up site I suggest you reserve now could be filling up by now. You can always cancel 6 days before arrival.

Thanks everyone! We've made our reservation for 4/26-5/2 & we'll be in the preferred pet friendly loop. We've also made the reservation for 'doggy day care' for our little Dachsie.

Is it silly that I'm actually typing this with (a few) tears in my eyes?


I know we have so much to learn about 'the way things are' at WDW vs 'the way things are' at DL. I'm an inveterate 'list maker' so I'd better get busy!
