Check in Procedure at SSR

Can someone tell me the check in procedures for SSR? What kind of documentation do you need? I rented points for my reservation and really just have a reservation Number since I am not myself a Disney Resort Owner.

Also can I check-in the whole family while my husband is either occupying the kids or getting groceries nearby? I've read that the process can be long.

• Walk in to the Carriage House lobby.
• Admire the carousel horse.
• Wait in a line. The lineups have never been long while I've been there.
• Wait for the next smiling CM to invite you to the counter -- enjoy hearing them say "Welcome Home."
• Tell them you're checking in.
• Give them your name.
• Tell them your husband is somewhere else -- they won't care.
• Give them the names and ages of all the members of your party.
• Give them your credit card if you want charging privileges on your key cards.
• Smile when they give you your key cards and tell you where your room is or tell you that your room will be ready soon. If it is the latter, they will give you a card with a phone number to call at some point in the day to find out your room number.
• Either go to your room and relax or go to a park and wait for your room to be ready or do something while your room is being made ready for you.
• Enjoy the fact that your husband and children don't have to be anywhere nearby.

I had a check in there in November. I had a sheet with the printed confirmation number from the DVC owner. My DVC owner was a coworker. I just handed that to the CM. She offered me a choice of locations, which I was not expecting. I must admit that I did not familiarize myself with the locations, but I did end up picking a room closest to DTD.

SSp was a beautiful resort. I really enjoyed my stay there. I hope you do, as well. BTW - it took me all of 10 minutes to check in.

If you want to confirm your confirmation # ahead of time, just call. I also added the dining plan. I did call in advance to do this. However, I did not have to pay for it until I arrived.
