UPDATE: I received my comfirmation email yesterday with a res #. No itenirary yet since our flights have not been booked. We are going in December and we are trying to afford the cruise as well.

We only go every two or three years so we plan on getting everything we can out of this trip. Should be booking the cruise this week and then they will book our flights and give us a final itenirary on our trip.

Sorry I missed everything the last couple of days. I was at Disneyland yesterday performing with a couple of groups so it was a good day to not be checking the boards anyway.

dbbydk, I took those pictures of the lanyards and also the lanyard/pin combo packs and I will try to post them to a seperate link sometime this weekend. Only three lantards that were girl specific. They had the same three at every shop and at the hotels.

I wiss I could get a feed of this thread on my TV so I could just watch it all. :happytv:

You may not get your flights for a while. A lot of the airlines only have their schedules open until September or October so if you are not going until December, then it may be March or April before they are able to book your flights.

I'm wondering, if besides all the wonderful things we get just for winning this drawing, if they will do anything else for us, like upgrade us to concierge rooms or suites, or even just give us preferred seating at the CA shows.

We will be at WDW for our DD 8th birthday and our 19th anniversary and the 7th anniversary of our placement day(our daughter is adopted) is just a few weeks before we go. So we have a lot to celebrate. I did not add it to my planning stuf because I didn't want to sound pushy but now that we are booked I will ask if we can add some things to our comfirmation.

They sent an email saying once our cruise was booked they would get our air. We have specific flights already picked out and they of course said they would try to accomodate us. Michael really is a fulfillment specialist. I would love to have their job.

There are a lot of companies that have off site parking for half the price. You park your car in their lot close to the airport and then they have a shuttle that takes you to and from the airport for free. We have done that before and it was a lot cheaper than paying to park at the airport.

I'll have to look into those as well. DH is planning on working half the day so we're not going to have a ton of extra time to get to the airport so the rental car might be our best bet.

It is costly to park at airports and we always go 10+ days so the cost is obnoxious. We usually get the earliest flight up and latest back. So we never want to rely on family. We always get a limo, if you shop around you usually can get a good deal. We usually pay 200 including tip (we always ask for the tip to be included in the estimate for cost)

You start the trip off in style, but believe it or not it is the best feeling in the world to get off the plane and have some one who will take care of you, no worries. Love it!

I pay for the trip, DH pays for the flights and Limo. Works for our family:thumbsup2

congrats to the winners, I am playing every day. I just thought I won a contest this week and all I got when I opened the e-mail was 8oz sanitizer:headache: bummer!
I'd love to take a limo but know DH would never go for it. :)

That's awesome J.J.! You definitely need to have them add it to your reservation. I'm actually kind of surprised they haven't asked any of us if we're celebrating anything (other than the sweepstakes win, of course)! I mean, when you make a regular Disney reservation, they ask you.

That's great that you're going on a cruise as well. I'm jealous. We'd love to do one. Maybe in a few years. :)

Huh. All this talk about letting them know it's a special occasion has got me thinking... Do they really do extra stuff for those kinds of things? At the time that we go in December, it will sort of be a birthday/anniversary thing as well. My youngest turns 6 the day after we leave and my husband and I will be celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary soon after. We got married just a few days before Christmas and our first trip to Disneyland together was right after we got engaged, again in December :) (one of my favorite pictures is him carrying me over the Disneyland "threshold:lovestruc). So obviously that time of year holds a dear place in our heart and a big reason why we enjoy going to Disney around then.

Except....I'd feel kinda weird telling them, you know? Like "Hey, we have birthdays and anniversaries here, hook us up!" :guilty: I'm not so good at that kind of thing...

Thank you JJ. Any chance you will be taking the family to DL over Columbus Day? My daughter turns 8 in September, so our girls are close in age.

They sure are. My daugther likes any excuse to go to DL. COlumbus Day, Veterans Day, Monday, Tuesday, etc.......

Check as we get a little closer to the date!

Latina Magazine, the Disney Store one, Hidden Mickeys contest on Facebook (one for WDW and one for DL, go to those FB pages to find the sign up), MyCokeRewards, John Carter Aulani, trips to NYC to see Newsies and Mary Poppins on Broadway, Disney Cruise Adventure game, and Hanes also has a Disney cruise sweep...those are all the ones I'm currently entered into. Oh, and there's a Visit Orlando sweep that includes one or two day park tix, can't remember. And Purell has something similar to that as well.

Am I missing any? Because if there are any more current sweeps out there for Disney I want to enter those too - I WILL win :lmao:.

Cool - thanks! :)

Don't feel weird! I sent an email to my contact saying "we will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary while on this trip, and this trip was a huge blessing to win since we weren't really sure how we were going to afford a big anniversary trip. If there is anything that you can do to make this trip special, I would reeally appreciate it."

You should try it and see what happens. The worst thing that could happen is they don't do anything; but at least you tried.

Who do you perform with? I have a cousin who is in a group that performs at STD occasionally. I well look up the name when I get back into town tomorrow night.

I am a musician and a Pastor. I play for many different area high schools and Disney has a program "Community Arts Showcase". They bring in school groups to perform. I was at the carnation plaza stage with two different groups yesterday. It will probably be one of the last times on that stage since the are redoing that whole area and turning it into a princess meet and greet type thing.

If you watch some of the old Disneyland shows that is the stage where the Osmonds and Louie Armstrong, and many others performed.
