I don't doubt the validity of our DIS winner and am sooooo excited for her! But I am shocked that Disney did not verify the shipping address before sending a package. Many people don't update their online accounts when they move (myself included, I just updated my address on my Disney account :rolleyes1).

Good luck to everyone!

From experience- Disney lets you pick the resort. YOu get a travel questionnaire with all the Deluxe resorts listed and you list your top 3.

picking the resort is what is getting me all excited about going...

no way I could afford to stay at a Deluxe resort, but you know I will choose 3 of them on my questionnaire if I win...preferably the boardwalk!!!

Thanks! I'm sure making such a post is the kiss of death for have the chance of winning a sweepstakes like this.

I second this. What's interesting is that I go to my profile on my Disney account, my address was correct, but when I clicked on the link from the previous poster that was included in the rules, they still had my old address. I would think that since there are so many places your address could be contained, they'd definitely want to verify that FedEx was going to the correct location.

Whew long thread to read - but thanks for the info on checking/updating account info. Best of luck to all!

The winners said that a FedEx truck delivered a package saying they won. I live on an island where residents have PO Box addresses. When I plan my WDW vacations I use my PO Box, so that is listed on my WDW account. Does that mean that I stand no chance of winning because FedEx does not deliver to PO Boxes.:sad2:

I list my street address as well as my PO Box on everything. According to the 911 laws, every home has a street number even if it is not a valid number for mail. We don't have home mail delivery but with the street number on everything, UPS and FedEx always manage to find me. Go back into your Disney account and add a secondary address or just update your current address showing both street number and PO Box. Also, I think if there is any concern about the address, Disney will call the cell phone number that was used for a text entry or email the addy that was used for an online entry.

Thanks for the information pwdebbie! I just went back and added my street address also. :goodvibes

Also, thank you torinsmom! I recently changed my information on Disney.com and I thought that was all that I needed to change. When I clicked on the website that you posted, it had a previous address of the home that we sold over two years ago. I am glad that I saw your post.:thumbsup2

I previously didn't check to see if my address was there. I thought for sure I had included it when I registered with ABC / Disney. Additionally, in 2006 when we became DVC Members, I was told I had to use my same ID and password. DVC for sure has my address. Well, guess what? Our address wasn't on either of the sites listed in this thread. The DIS always keeps me informed!

I do have some questions about all the contest websites. OLS (if I remember correctly), what is that? I would love to win something, somewhere, so what are the best, and legitimate, websites to use. I don't want to end up with a virus, my personal info stolen, etc.

And, as others have mentioned, I have also been checking my email hourly....and watching for the FedEx truck.

Hope we hear of more DIS winners!

Hi all. I'm new to these boards and found them only after the OMDD Sweepstakes started. In fact, this is my first post :). With all the speculation on the contest, I thought I'd pop on here and let you know another experience with it. I'll try to give you as much info as I can/feel comfortable with - if not for any other reason than worrying about jinxing us!

As of Tuesday the 10th (which coincides with the "on or about" date), my husband was notified he was a "potential winner." He's been entering daily through the website (not text) and was notified via email from Ventura Associates. They asked him to reply with his full name, address and phone number within 24 hours. He did and on Thursday, we received a FedEx package with the letter from VA stating what sweepstakes it was for, an affidavit that needed to be notarized and a return overnight FedEx label.

Of course we happily obliged and sent it back the same day (yesterday) so it should get to them sometime today. So that's where things currently stand. I hope that this info will help and that yes (at least in our situation), they ARE notifying some people via email before sending out the FedEx package.

Continued Best of Luck to You ALL! :yay:

CONGRATS!!! :cool1:

Why can't you understand the RULES?

They will contact you via email or cell as appropriate to GET YOUR MAILING ADDRESS. If they already HAVE your address (like perhaps in Watkinsme case) they sent her the FedEx package straight off.

Well-in my case, altho i did book a trip thru Disney 3 years ago, i might have moved, For WDW to just ASSUME my address on their website is still valid from years ago is silly-thus the need toverify it, as the rules state.

Why cant YOU see that?

That's actually extremely helpful to know the email won't be coming from a standard Disney address. Thanks for the info and congrats to your family! Have you given any thought to where you'll be going/which resort you want to stay in?

at the bottom left of your letter what date does it say?

Everything was the same for me except the email - I even went back through my junk mail and searched for disney and I searched again for Ventura and nothing. SO my only guess is since I have recently booked a vacation online that they used that as my mailing address.

:cool1:

I only have a few business days left t till I get my next package from them :woohoo::woohoo:

Congrats to the 2 winners on this thread (watkinsme & ColeyOley)! :cool1:

I just noticed that the website has posted the names/residence of the current sweepstakes winners. My name is not there - yet. :)

It says it's your responsibility to make sure they have your correct info. If there is info on your account (be it email or home address) they are of course going to assume it's correct. What if someone USED to have a yahoo mail but now has gmail but didn't update their account info with Disney? Disney would be sending info to the yahoo and have no idea that you now use gmail or what have you. It's YOUR responsibility to make sure your info is right.
