I don't know how many other of you were experiencing difficulty entering...yesterday I tried to enter and it told me there was a communications error (I tried multiple times through out the day and was not successful). Today I twice tried to enter and got the same error which was really starting to annoy me.

Anyway I got the email from Disney.com reminding me to enter. I clicked on the link in that email and I was able to enter with no problems! I'm not sure why, since the link takes you to the exact same site, but I'm saving that email and I'll just click on that link every day to enter.

Is this confirmed? All this person said was that they got a certified letter and it was still at the post office. Was there an update I missed?

They do a weeks worth of drawings at a time. So while it is one per day they are all drawn at once.

Congrats to the winners! I'm glad a few DISers have one! Fingers crossed some more of us win!

I think you may have that wrong. I think they draw each day, send out the paperwork immediately, and then announce the winners four days after the end of a week's worth of drawings (in order to allow the overnighted paperwork to be returned before announcing names). That would explain why some people already received paperwork from entering the first week even though the first announcement isn't until today. I'm keeping an eagle eye out for the FedEx man!

The official rules state that they do a drawing once a week.

but they don't appear to be following their own rules...

Gee, I just read through a day's worth of posts and I have to say that I'm a little disappointed at the tone of some posters. As for me, I am going to rejoice with those who rejoice! I am excited for those who have received documents already and looking forward to following their planning and trip reports in the future.

I think the majority, including me aren't upset about someone winning. I think that is awesome. For me it's why have a big announcement, post guidelines and rules including procedures...then do something totally different???

It makes the whole thing dissapointing and not "credible".

And for someone to act unsure about the poster, is because what the poster says isn't what Disney said. So wondering who to believe and expressing that, is kind of a normal thing imo.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been opening up internet explorer once a day to enter (instead of mozilla)

it also says something like "within a day or two" Meh - if they're giving away free vaca's I'll try not to complain lol

As for the certified mail, I am glad to know about that but wonder how they get that info if you text. I texted my first entry on Jan 2nd and then lost my phone. You can bet I keep envisioning WDW calling and then giving up and picking a new winner. I will be entering via website the rest of the time!

I had to take a form to a notary (which needed my id), fill it out and swear it was all correct = name/ address/ ssn or tax id for my tax form/ contact information, my immediate family members names, who we all worked for etc - that was it - it said I will receive my next package in 7 days...I'll keep everyone updated...

I don't know. I'm the one who saw her post/thread and mentioned it here, so I'll back and ask her to update. Maybe she already has.

If you are entering a contest by text, they have your phone number which is assigned to a carrier, who sends you a bill, because they have your ADDRESS.

(I believe by using your cell to enter a contest you give consent to the carrier to give out your address to an interested party whom you have contacted first)

If that's the case then I should have DH enter online instead of by text because his phone is through his work. I could then do his entry for him everyday since I'm not sure he remembers everyday anyway.
