Yeah even as someone who has one at home… oh boy it’s annoying.

Echo Dot. I have 3 plus an Echo Show and they get constant use.

Stand alone? None. There are two built into the TV we bought a few months ago, Alexa and Bixby. They don't seem very smart. The clock in the TV did not auto reset for daylight savings time. I asked both Alexa and Bixby to change the time, nothing. Went into the setup and manually reset the time, but every time I turn the TV off, it goes back to the wrong time.
I have a Google phone, so that accepts voice commands, and I have a Dish remote that takes voice commands, and my tablet has Alexa. Rarely use any of them.

About 10 years ago we bought a normal looking lightbulb with a tiny speaker inside for the bathroom. It was awesome!

We had other smart speakers before that, I think Bose might’ve been our first?

Bose is a smart speaker underdog… it’s not as widely recognized as Alexa or Google

Don't have any kind and won't ever have one. We even avoided smart TVs until last year when we had to replace a small one in my workout room. We looked and looked and looked locally to try to find a non-smart one and couldn't. I don't use the voice commands on my phone or in my car either. In the car the darn thing seems to have issues with southern accents so if I need to make a phone call, I wait until I can stop somewhere and press buttons on my phone, I do let the call go through the car speakers but dial it myself.

Never. I don't have one. My first experience with one is at a Friends house in August 2024. A year and half later I am just getting comfortable telling Alexa to turn on or off lights.
