Thanks! I just tried the code and it didn't change the rate either. Was that for Alamo or National?

I think my Alamo code isn't changing anything because I'm getting the special rate that they are running right now anyway. The base for the SUV is $148.

That one was for National. You should try to get a quote from National as well, and compare the two. You may have a great deal already. That sounds pretty reasonable for an SUV.

Thank you! I did check National yesterday and there wasn't anything cheaper.

The SUV was $148 and then the economy was $160 base. Wasn't a tough choice. We probably won't be doing a lot of driving, but I know my husband wants to be able to head over to Dunkin Donuts for his morning coffee. And we plan on making a grocery store run at least once so we can have some snacks and water in the room.

I'm glad you got such a great rate!
Having a car is the best. Saves you so much time & money.
Stopping at a grocery store is a must! We stop and buy snacks, bottled water & sports drinks, deli meats/cheeses/breads & candy.
Saves you a ton of money in buying from the snack bars & fast food places in the hotels.
And if you ask the housekeeping to bring you an additional fridge, they should bring one at no extra charge to you!
Make sure to buy the refillable mugs too! Saves you a bundle as well

Getting around from park to park is so much quicker with a car. Don't have to wait in line for an over crowded bus.

I reserved the SUV (which was the lowest price of all their available cars) for our 7-day trip and it was just under $200. Everytime I tried to put in any of the codes on Mousesavers...still the same price. Which code did you use? I'm thinking of buying the 2006 Entertainment Book because there is a $25 coupon in it.

Thank you! That's my plan...to use the entertainment coupon on top of the great SUV rate. Not a bad deal at all. Definitely better than the $700 I had to pay in Europe for a week on a tiny little car.

I don't have the new book yet...so I'm not sure. I'm planning on ordering it soon. I looked at the website which is where I found that there is a discount at Alamo.

The entertainment book has a coupon which includes the code.
I think I have only alamo only once before and forgot whether we need to present to coupon, however, for my hertz and national rental, I also gave them the coupon
Initially I only used the $20 code as most of the other companies only has $20 discount, but then I read this board and someone mentioned a $25 coupon, hence I checked the entertainment and rebooked the SUV.
