Shirley and I (or is it me) have our computer back. I posted before about the $9.95/day internet charge at DIS----That charge really bugged me.

We ate out a couple of times at DIS. They give you a suggested gratuity (tip) of 18% or 20%. I have always thrown a couple of bucks more on a 20% tip. My wife did work at DIS and did not make a ton of money.

We had a meal at DIS that came to $88. Actually the meal was only fair. The service was good. You throw the tip of 20% plus a couple of bucks, but there is a State Tax of 7%. Roughly $30 in total. A 1/3 of the cost of the meal.

What did I get for 7% that I did not get in the seven $3 tolls we paid going by Miami southbond (about 30 miles) to Key Largo on Rt 95 & Rt 1.

7% is cheap for sales tax. We have 8% sales tax, sometimes 8.5% or 9% depending on the county or city you are shopping in. Everything has sales tax including food.

We also have a State Income Tax.

However, our property taxes are dirt cheap.

yes, especially the 4 different type of taxes we pay for fire services, or how about the tripling of fees for trash removal and wanting us to pay $300 for each of the new trash cans we will be required to purchase?

We have a 8.75% tax...we have to find and hire a waste disposal company, our property tax has gone up about 600% since we moved here, I pay a $3/day toll to go to work, and I have heartburn!!!

We will be home after a super adventure in the next 7 or 8 days.

We have not seen our mail since March 7th. I am looking forward to a couple of things.

A) Did our real estate taxes go up ??? They (who are they ????) were voting to up our millage. This was not in their (who is their, they) jurisdiction, but behind closed doors anything can happen.
I can just hear it now ! ! ! If we don't get this increase, my ex-wife's sister's 3rd cousin will be let go. It doesn't matter what he does in this township, he is a solid vote for us. He is on the payroll, but nobody has seen him since last year. That is not the issue. Millage is the issue.

B) I can fill out our Census.
