We have a car but really don't feel comfortable driving in LA. What would be our cheapest/best option to get to a Dodgers game?

You can take buses for about $10 per person.

You get to the anahiem train station on ART $4 per person. Take a Metrorail train to LA, about $16 person. Transfer onto a Metrolink light rail, free, and go up a station. Then a cab to the stadium which is probably around $10 or $12 each way.

It will depend on how many people if it's cheaper and truly easier than a car the whole way.

Buses $10 for Both Ways? You have a link for the bus service? (I apologize I seem to be having you answer a lot of questions.)

I think it's about $5 to ride OCTA to Union Station in LA. And then another $1.50 to ride the metro buses to the stadium.

Thinking about this some more, for Angels games I think you can take the train to the Angels Stadium for $7.

I was thinking about that train and found this. Free bus transfer to the game when you take the train.
I read it some more, the transfer to the stadium is on your dodger ticket. So you could take OCTA to union station or a train, it doesn't matter.http://www.metro.net/around/dodger-stadium-express/

Busses will take 2 to 3.5 hours each way. That's a ridiculous alternative when you have a car. The drive is insanely easy, involves one freeway, and won't even take 45 minutes outside of rush hour.

If you really don't want to drive, then take Amtrak to Union Station, there are free shuttles to the stadium from there.

I second the notion of just driving. I live 5 minutes from Disneyland and go to about 20 Dodger games a year. It's really easy. Get on the 5 north and get off on Stadium way.

Easy for you guys lol. We come from a town of 800 people and we're not used to the big city traffic.

And there won't be any. You are going against traffic flow, so smooth ride to LA. You will hit congestion in the downtown interchange, possibly, but that's it.

I was wondering the same thing. We won't have a car and the Angels aren't in town. Is public transportation just too big a hassle to make it worth it?

It has improved recently, but there is a reason everyone drives in LA. It's tough to create an efficient system because everything is so spread out.

As Ski mentioned earlier in the thread, get to Union Station in LA by either train or bus and the Dodger Stadium Express will take you the rest of the way for free if you show them your ticket.

One problem with the train is that the last southbound Amtrak train leaves about 10pm, so that makes it difficult to see an entire night game. You don't want to miss the last train back to Anaheim. Works great for day games though. I've done it - I live here and hate LA traffic. :drive:
