I am looking for a good cheap travel site. Which have you had success with?
We are wanting to travel March 15-22 or 14-21 2009

hi

Although you don't know which resort/hotel you have until you commit to book I have had good luck with HOTWIRE.COM

I punched in your dates and they had 1 bdrm condos starting at $77/night I think that one would be the Westgate DTD area Bluetree resort as we booked it for August for 2 nights but it was alittle cheaper($60/night)

They also had Hotel rooms From $28/night at a basic 3 star hotel in the Disney Maingate Celebration area.

I have stayed at - through Hotwire - 2 diferent Radisson Hotels one near US/IOA and one on Rt192 near Disneys wide world of sports complex both nice

also an Embassy suites near US/IOA and the Sheraton Safari in a family suite (separte living rm and bedroom with a microwave toaster small fridge and coffee maker)

Its always a chance but so far I have had gd luck.

Two real good ones...priceline.com and easyclicktravel.com

Easyclick is excellent in the Orlando area. Now, you won't know what you get until you book it, sort of. Here's how you defeat this, you look through the selections of hotels for your dates and it will come up with a list, star rating and prices. It will also state that (for the best deals) hotel name withheld until booked, but it does give a description of the property. Take that description and cut/paste it into google and you'll find out what hotel it actaully is. It works everytime. Easyclick must get the descritions off the hotels websites or something. I booked the Holiday Inn Resort for $51 for March 27th and on their Holiday Inn's webiste, it's listed as 140ish.

Priceline works in the same way but there's no way to know what you'll get for a star level. You can get close though if you use biddingfortravel.com and see what people are getting on priceline and you'll have an idea of what you should bid.

I used easyclick travel and got a 2 room condo unit for about $58 a night in late april. I used betterbidding's reverse search tool to find out what hotel it was ahead of time ( google "betterbidding easyclick travel tool") The hotel/condo complex is Parc Corniche and most reviews were good. It's an older property but it has the space we wanted, a simple free breakfast, and was close to the parks. No daily maid service (this place is more like renting a townhouse) for stays under 7 days but I actually prefer to not have maids in my room "cleaning up" after me, kind of creeps me out knowing someone has been in my room while i was out and could be digging through my stuff :scared:

Hotwire is good, and if you book a package you can see which hotel you are getting. I booked a trip for next month for Spring break and got the hotel, airfare AND a car for under $900. The cheapest I found on any other site was 1300 and that didn't include the car.

There is no one single "best" travel site.

My wife and I have really developed a love for travelling over the last year or so. During this time, I have spent a lot of time researching travel websites and how to find the best deal.

Two good articles to get you started.
http://www.kiplinger.com/features/archives/2004/06/travelsites.html
and...
http://www.tripandtraveltips.com/finding-hotel-deals.htm

Create a Favorite Places of your best travel sites and tools. Check daily (www.airfarewatchdog.com is an example of a site I check daily) and weekly.

Our strategy is simple: I check my sites every day looking for a great deal. When I find one, we go. Earlier this year we flew to Vegas from New Jersey four four nights, five days. Airfare and hotel for two cost me a total of $579 which is an incredible bargain from this area.

Whenever I begin a new travel search, I always do a refresher read of the articles listed above, and then I'm off.

Goodl luck, and finding the amazing deal is just as much fun as the trip itself. (Well, almost)

I highly recommend http://kayak.comfor both hotels and airfare. It allows you to easily compare several travel websites at a time. NOTE: When you do find a great airfare you should always book with the airline directly to avoid booking fees.

Good luck!

Yeah like some said here there is no one best site. The prices constantly change so you should always check out all the sites to see where the best deal happens to be at at the time. Sometimes hotels or the sites themselves will run specials. I'm subscribed to all the sites' email lists for that reason.

we constantly use priceline.....great deals...my mom and brother just got their rooms at $55 for royal plaza in downtown disney!:thumbsup2

I have to throw my support behind hotwire.com, it is an amazing tool. I use it nearly every time I travel to Orlando. You get the best rates by far, of course the little trick with Hotwire is that you don't know where you're staying. I won't usually stay anywhere under their 3.5 star rating. I book 3+ trips a year on hotwire and have never been disappointed with the accomodations considering I didn't actually pick the place.
