DS16 and I are planning our "Around the :smickey:World in One Day" challenge for our June trip. We have a whole plan for what rides, attractions, and experiences we have to get done in all 4 parks to complete the challenge. We are staying offsite at a condo, but plan to reserve an onsite room for the night before our challenge, so we can use the morning and evening EMHs to maximize the time we have for the challenge. So, what is the cheapest place to "stay" in order to get the EMH perk? We don't plan on sleeping there, just checking in so we have the room card to use for the EMH.

Get a campground site at Fort Wilderness. Up to 10 can stay at one - go by, check in, get your KTTW and enjoy your 2 days of EMH entitlements.

Would I have to stay there? We are not into camping, especially in the summer, LOL. I hate to take a campsite from someone who would need it. I wish I knew someone staying there and I would pay them to add me to their reservation, just for the EMH perk for the one day. Do you get two days of EMH entry with one night's stay? Hmmm....gotta figure this out. Rates at the values have really gone up!

Well a value room would be the cheapest and the reserving a campsite and not using it turns into a hot topic usually here. Maybe there is someone who would add you to their reservation and you could work out some kind of compensation as a thank you. That way you don't feel you are taking a campsite that someone would use and you would get the EMH. The room would give you a home base, a place to shower and change. It can be pretty hot in June and you may want that option.

Yeah, I wouldn't feel right taking a campsite during that time of year. I imagine June is pretty busy. Would it be allowed for me to ask who would be there for my dates and try to work out someone adding us to their ressie, or not?

A value room is like $140 that time of year:scared1: Since we are doing a challenge, we won't be taking a break at all. We will have a condo, and we will be sleeping in the next day for sure.

I guess part of the challenge could be getting everything done without EMHs, but I don't know. Looks like the earliest park opens at 9am and the latest closes at 11pm for regular hours. I don't know if we could do that, but it would definitely save us some money!

That value room price should go down.

And definitely plan to stay in it, too. It will give you a little vacation within a vacation and you won't have to fool with a car, parking, etc. You also should be able to park there on both your check in and check out days, which will save you a few dollars.

We have a trip planned from 14-21 June to AKV. We already have 7, but our place should sleep 9 so as not to alert any CMs. The only set-back is that we're all getting the DDP and we're not sure if everyone in the party has to have it. Anybody know?

Nice of you to offer;) I think everyone in the party has to have the DDP though. We will likely not be getting there until the 18th or later. We will figure something out.

As far as a PP saying room rates will go down, aren't the rates set unless I get a discount code? I didn't think about the free parking. So, I'd be able to stay parked there or park at the parks for free for the whole day of our check out? I guess that would save us $28.

Can you take a bus from one park to another? I'm trying to figure out the best way to get from park to park.

We did this once and had a blast! It was tiring, but fun. I would stay in the room the night before. This way you're already on-site for first thing in the morning. You can park at the hotel for free and take the buses. While there is a bus that goes between DHS and AK, for the rest you have to go to a resort. We just picked the closest one to the park. When we went to MK we took the bus from AK to the Contemporary and just walked over.

Right now, we're planning on starting at DHS, then to Epcot, then to AK, then to MK, then we actually hop a few more times. I'm trying to plan it out where we ride a few rides and then get FP's for one and then do the same at a second park. With rides like TSM and Soarin, I don't know if we can get everything we're trying to do in one park done and still have a short enough wait or FP availability for the busy rides.

We were there one year on my teen son's birthday and he insisted on hitting all four parks to get their birthday buttons (they were different at each park back then). It was exhausting and we didn't do a lot at any park.

We DID visit three parks in October with our Give a Day Certificates, just hitting the high points at each. That was pretty fun. We skipped the Animal Kingdom.

There is a bus from Epcot to AK, I've taken it. Also from DHS to Epcot, and AK to Epcot. You might want to look into Swan & Dolphin - they've been posting $159 rates for summer, and you get a discount if you're a nurse, teacher, gov't employee or military. They do particiapte in EMH - and are right there within walking distance to Epcot & DHS if that's where you want to start your day after check-in! They do charge for parking though, so that might drive the cost up.

Good luck with the challange...as locals, we do it all the time...we start in the morning, and hit the highlights(for us) at each park...

We usually do AK, DHS, Epcot, then MK.

As for hotels...again, a value resort....prices will probably drop or you can get a code somewhere for it.

Honestly, I see no harm in renting a campsite and not using it if its just for one night. It is your money and your choice of what you do with your rental. I doubt that you will be affecting anyone's vacation plans for a one nighter. And besides, you planned early so you should have priority (regardless of how you choose to utilize your rental) over someone who decides last minute and gets turned down for a reservation. Also, if you are are a AAA member, check to see if there are any AAA discounts by calling WDW.

I tend to agree with this...technically, you are doing the same thing if you rent a room...so why not...

Not exactly accurate. There's park-to-park transportation for all parks, if you count the TTC - and you can substitute a walk between the Contemporary and the MK (and bus between that resort and any other park) for MK transport :)

OP: also look into the Hilton at Downtown Disney, and the Dolphin and Swan. Any of the three would give you EMH access. Check in the night before your 'Extreme Adventure' starts so you'll have your proof of eligibility, and either stay at the hotel that night for proximity, or go back to the condo and get up for an EARLY start in the morning.

FYI from an experienced 4-park-a-day hopper:

monday can be a good day to try this - extra magic hours for AK start at 8am and the MK also has late extra magic hours (usually 3 hrs after normal close).

start at AK, then take a bus to DHS, then take a boat to epcot (or walk/jog over if you're feeling boisterous...but it's tough to beat the boat) and then take the monorail and finish with the MK.

i wouldn't hop more than that as you eat up a ton of time in transfers...(but it's your game... :) )
