Cheapest days to fly

Are there certain days of the week that you can get airline tickets cheaper for? We will fly either Northwest or American Airlines. Thanks!

Last Oct. we flew Fri. to Sat. instead of Sat. to Sun. and saved appr. 40.00 pp. This was with UsAirways.

I've noticed for us (flying either Spokane or Seattle, WA to Orlando) Travelocity shows the cheaper flights on Tuesday, Wed., or Thurs.
