Cheap Trader Pins on Ebay

Marcy,

Congrats on the adoption. That must be exciting beyond belief.

As for the pins that were rejected at Epcot, they were the Sedesma (sp?) ones. As others have stated, some CMs in other parks traded for them, but after the bad experience at Epcot, my son was understandably timid to ask.

One CM explained to my older son that the fact that these were not cloissaine (sp?) and had black backs indicated they were fakes. They are cute pins. In fact, my sons traded for a couple of these from CMs and also one or two others that were in no way official Disney pins. I grumbled, but if they were happy, I guess that's what counts.

I have had no dealings with the eBay seller mentioned. I did look at her auctions and the pins in the bulk lots at least resembled some of the ones we had, but of course, our fakes would obviously resemble better pins. Maybe asking the color of the back of the pins would help.

Our trip for Christmas will be our last Disney trip for at least a couple of years so there may be a whole new fad by then. We've had a lot of fun with pin trading until this last little bump in the road.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Some people have PM'd me to say that they have purchased pins from her in the past and everything is fine. I think the other poster was just assuming they were fake because they were cheap.

I bought hundreds of pins from an e-bay seller from Spain. They cost less than twenty cents each but did say "Disney" on the back. My kids traded them easily with every castmember except for one who was very rude about it. My kids don't take trading too seriously and like almost every pin they get in return - no matter how common it may be. The fun is in the interaction with the castmembers.

Since castmembers get the pins handed to them by Disney, I don't know why any of them would ever have such a stick up their butt when trading them with little kids.

IMHO, pins are fun for kids to trade - once you get to collecting them for any reason other than you like how they look or to preserve a memory of a Disney place, character, event or ride, you ain't a kid anymore. Go get some of those valuable beanie babies or cabbage patch dolls and play with yourself.

Hello FLutterNutter-

CONGRATS on your first Munchkin! If you visit Disney because you like to go on thrill rides, you'll never have to go again. Parenthood is the wildest ride out there! :)

By the by, I too am interested in purchasing some of your pins. So, if there are any left, please email me as I would love to get a few for my DD before her first trip!

TIA!
Mel
