Anyone have suggestions on the best place to buy poncho's. I want to buy them before we get to disney, and figured this was the best place of ask.:thumbsup2 Thanks in advanced

I have found them in the camping/sport section of Walmart. They are about $1, but are really only for one wear, but they are so small and cheap I always planned to just throw them away instead of trying to fold them back up.
Most of them are clear not a color.

I usually get them at Targer or Walmart for $1.00 in the camping section but have heard of people finding 2 for $1.00 at Dollar Tree.

The advice above is on the mark, but I also would like to add that if you or anyone with you are Pooh sized, the ones from Dollar Tree are SMALL compared to the ones from Walmart, learned that the hard way as I bought WDW ponchos in January for a price that would make you shake your head and almost chose to just get wet!

I too get the ones from Walmart in the camping section, first they are so cheap that I do not care that I am not going to get more than one wear out of them. They are a bit roomier than the DT ones so being Pooh sized that is a plus for me, but I went to DT for ones for the kids when they were smaller.

If you want something to reuse, try a local camping/outdoor store, we have Gander Mtn in our area.

I usually buy the ones from Walmart. Personally, I prefer buying the cheap ones and throwing them out after they've been used. I have one here (South Korea) that I reuse during monsoon season (well...I had one last year and got a new one this year) and they're no fun to deal with. I have to find a place to hang it inside, so it can dry out between uses.

When I went to Disney in July a few years ago, I was the only one who used a poncho on a regular basis, and went through probably about 4 in the week we were there.

We buy the cheapy one's from walmart and use them for parents and for the strollers. But, I buy the kids ponchos at Disney. They really like that they have mickey on them and they have resued them quite a few times since then, which made it worth the high price.

Any of the dollar type stores have these, as well as sporting goods stores if you want something more durable.

I couldn't find any at our Target that weren't over 15.00. However I found actual rain jackets with hoods (plastic of course, but resembled more of a jacket than a poncho, same material) for 1.00. I'm starting to stock up on Dis supplies now, so when august comes i'm not rushing around like a maniac trying to find everything :)

I have a rubbermaid type box that I put all these type things in that I only use for Disney, that way we can find it easily from one trip to the next, since we drive we take box and all and I do not have to buy it over again from one trip to the next. Lovingly referred to as the "Disney Box" then all I have to do is check it to be sure it was restocked, pack it in the car and go.

I purchased ponchos at The Dollar Tree for $1 per package of 2. They worked perfect for the wet rides and were thin and easy to wad up and shove back in a pocket or backpack. Yes, they are thin and do not cover your entire body but they work well for wet rides. They will keep your torso dry (and head), and you can sit on another one if you want your bottom dry although I was able to sit on mine enough without having to use a 2nd one.

Our Target had some hanging on the end racks that hold kid's underwear. They had 4 or 5 different Disney designs.

We bought cheap rain coats one year and they lasted for one rain storm. We have some Disney ponchos that we have had for over 10 years - we bring them back year after year -- I highly recommend official Disney ponchos.

Yes, they are great and we have some, but for the unexpected rain shower and you don't want to spend a fortune, the others can be carried and used without breaking the bank, and yes used for the wet rides.

We use our Disney ponchos for rainy days that we know it will be rainy. Then we have a backpack to put then in if the rain stops for ease of carry.

Because I rarely wear the $1 more than once and it tends to rain every day starting in late May, I usually buy the Disney ponchos. I reuse them throughout the entire trip, and unlike the $1 ones, I don't feel as if I'm suffocating in them.

I stock up on the 2 for $1 at the Dollar Store. Like others have said they are really just a one day poncho bc they are pretty cheap but when they rip I don't feel bad tossing them in the trash. We carry them in a ziploc bag in our backpack. If it is a quick rainshower, we take them off and put them back in the bag in case we need them later.

We were in WDW on a very rainy day last year (rained from 8am to 9 pm nonstop) and our Dollar Store ponchos lasted the day and kept us all dry!

I also buy them at the local Dollar Tree. Found the 2 per pack for $1 there today.

We also buy the glow sticks for the children at Dollar Tree rather than buy them when we get there.

There are two styles that can be found at Dollar Tree. The first style is the traditional pull over shapeless with a hood. Those are usually in a package of 2 for a dollar.
The second style was a pleasant surprise. It's a snap up the front coat with a hood. I'm a size 22 (mostly tummy) and the XL fits me fine. Probably one of the best bargains at Dollar Tree IMHO. LOL

I don't have advise on poncho's because when we were there in 2008 during Tropical Storm Fay (?) it rained nonstop for 1 week so we bought the Disney ponchos and still have them.

But I did want to say I love your screen name (is that what it's called?)
I have triplets too, but they are no longer tots. I should change my name to tripleteens, but I can't because I have 5 of them.

Have fun in Disney!
