I am taking the family to Orlando in November. Looking for some economical dining. We like Cici's any other good places that are cheap for small kids? I am planning on buying those kids eat free cards.

I find Steak and Shake very reasonable. You might want to check out their menu online.

Sign up for the kids birthday club at Bob Evans and they send a postcard for a free kids meal with drink. We save ours and use them all at the same time! We eat at the one on Rte. 192 right off of Rte 4.

Sweet Tomatoes is decent food reasonably priced but the one at Crossroads across from Downtown Disney is the worst one we've ever been in. Still, a lot of WDW visitors love it because they've never been in any other one so they have nothing to compare it to.

Steak and Shake, and other restaurants -- such as IHOP and Olive Garden, routinely have coupons in our local paper. Can any of the FL residents confirm if that is true in Orlando?

Our local Chick-fil-A has "Family Night" on Tuesday. One free kids meal with each adult combo meal. I'm not sure if it's a regional promotion or national promotion, but you could check with the local restaurants.

If you sign up for the loyalty program at Smokey Bones, you'll routinely receive coupons. The last one I got was $10 off.

Golden Corral (off I-Drive opposite the large McD's, and on Highway 192 and in Lake Buena Vista) and Sizzler on I- Drive (also in Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista) offers cheap eats - use coupons from free mags or from coupon booklets found every where- great for breakfasts starting at $3.99 and evening meals.

Denny's has a kids eat free promo but I can't remember what day - maybe every day! Even so, it's cheap and cheerful.

Check this out...if you are that concerned about it, you also need to call each specific location.

Steak n Shake currently has a kids eat free on weekends with every $8 spent. So you have two adults that spend $16 then two kids eat free.

Texas Roadhouse-depending on location, it's either kids eat free on Monday or Tuesday, with purchase of adult meal.

Perkins-M-F kids eat free with adult entree purchase

Shoneys-kids 4 and under eat free with adult purchase

Denny's-depends on locations...most places is Tuesday kids eat free, some also have Saturday kids eat free

Yes, now and again there are coupons for Steak and shake in the Sunday Orlando Sentinal paper.

We just stumbled onto Logans Steakhouse the other day, They have early bird meals for 2/$15 and kids meals were $2.99 inc drink, all sunday through wednesday.

Also, Get a cheap restaurant.com coupon for either Giordianos or House of Blues. We ate well at HOB and left spending $30 whih is awesome considering you're in DTD.

I LOVE Logans and that deal, and the entrees are huge. The one in the Publix plaza there on 192 and international dr south is really good (it's by Gaylord Palms).

I would definitely check out restaurant.com since they have so many different restaurants on there. You could get many meals for less than $10 for the family that way.

Not less than $10, but $10-25 off the bill. There's usually a minimum amount needed to spend, plus there's automatic gratuity.

Golden Corral is alright, but just remember dinner is like $10 per person plus another 2-3 bucks on a drink, and then tax. So it winds up fairly expensive. I only ever ate there once.

Get on the list at Sweet Tomatoes and they email coupons every Thursday morning.

When we were there we got a pizza to-go from Flippers (several locations), not a 'budget' place but it was pretty good!

Oh, no does this mean we need to go to the other one? that's the one (universal side) that we've been to before and we loved it but I was going to go to the one at Crossroads.

If you are staying on or near Disney property you can try it. It's not terribly bad it's just not as good as a normal Sweet Tomatoes you would go into if it weren't so close to a tourist area. We have 2 locations near where we live in Georgia and they are miles above it when it comes to cleanliness, food preparation and selection. Personally we'd go to the one near Universal but we normally stay offsite at a point midway between the 2 restaurants so it's an easier choice. Afterwards you can report back on your opinions of one vs the other.
