We are looking for a real bargain hotel for 5 nights before our cruise in May, there is just me, my DH and my DD4 and we all want to stay in the same room.....well I have been looking on a travelsupermarket and found some really cheap hotels all 3 star (£27ish per night), look good from the pic's but then I read the reviews and they sound like grotty hovels.

I have never stayed in a hotel in orlando(apart from the florida mall hotel which is in a much better league than I am looking now) can someone give me a guideline of what a 3 star would be like?

We dont care about the facilities as it is just a bed to sleep, but I dont want the bed to be crawling with bugs or a dirty room.

Thanks for helping a confused girl out!

We stayed at Rosen Inn Pointe Orlando Dec 2009 (used to be called quality inn plaza) and it was great for the price - would stay there again no hesitation.

Was renovated in 2009 - beds were comfy, very clean, rooms inc fridge and free internet. Complex has 2 pools and a little playground my DD liked - she was almost 4 when we stayed there for 4 nights. Housekeeping was excellent.

Lots of restaurants nearby and a walgreens opposite.

Have stayed in a lot of cheap motels in Orlando over the years and this was the best.

Thanks! Had a look at the reviews and it reads well.
This has moved on to my shortlist!

Just had a look on hotels.com was £34 a night this May - great hotel for the price imo.

It does back on to the I4 highway but we had a room I drive side and had no problems with traffic noise.

Depends on location you want, if you have a car we have found the Best Western Lakeside a great budget resort(staye dthere 3 or 4 times ourselves) its on Hwy 192 Maingate West, shortcut via Serberth rd into Disney. Monarch have it at £28.28/night less 5% Quidco.

They also have the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando at £33.60 less 5%, might be cheaper with Hotels.com if the above quote is less a code or cashback.

Monarch also have a great price on one of our favourite hotels, Courtyard By Marriott Palm Parkway at £36.60 less 5%, least I have seen it for a couple of years.

last one I will mention(there are many more on there) is the Holiday Inn Express Lake Buena Vista at £38.72 less 5%, we are checking in there tomorrow after reading lots of good reviews about it.

We have never had to pay more than around £35/night for a good value hotel.

Try TravelRepublic.com, I've booked 14 nights at Orlando Metropolitan Express on I-Drive in May for £130 each! It looks like a nice hotel too, good reviews. There are some bargains to be had on Hotel rooms in Orlando

Thanks everyone!
It is fab to get REAL reviews, I know everyones expecatations are different but on some review websites it sounds like the hotels should be condemned, As much as I dont expect much, I do want to come out of the 5 nights with my health in 1 peice

I will have a good search through the recommendations tonight (when the DD has gone to bed so I get 5 min of peace!)

Will let you know how I get on.

Happy hunting!

I tend to scroll through and look at the UK reviews on trip advisor - tend to be more realistic imo.
