cheap beer on WDW property?

We are using www.beerrun.biz for our upcoming trip.

Just e-mail them with what you are looking for...wine or beer...and they will get back to you. DH is a bit of a beer snob and they were able to get his favorite micro brew from Long Island.

They will deliver your order right to bell services.

Seems like the easiest way to go, imo.

We were also considering our options for cheap(er) beer to keep in the fridge in our room. We were planning on stopping at a Wal-Mart somewhere before getting to WDW, but I like this idea. We will be staying at POFQ; what is the easiest way to get to SOG from there? Do you happen to know what times the AAFES store closes?

Sorry it took so long for you to get an answer...

According to the Exchange website, the store on Shades of Green is open daily from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m.

It should be noted that in addition to beer/wine, the Exchange store at SoG does sell some of the hard stuff (which, in the state of Florida, cannot be normally purchased at grocery/convenience chains, such as Hess Express).

As for getting there, the easiest way is by car (as SoG is located beyond the MK car entrance, and across the road from the Polyneisan, adjacent to the golf courses).

Walking to Hess is a great tip.

I noticed last week when we were at Pop that they have some cheap wine (cant remember the brand name, but it was under $10 for a bottle - the bottles of wine were more expensive on the Boardwalk Mercantile! I have found a good bottle of wine in France but it was closer to $15 - but much better quality! As a PP said, we buy the bottle, and drink it in our room -

I also find it worthwhile to pay wegoshop to shop for me - I looked at the weekly ad at Publix, make my selections - then update it right before we leave with the new ad, letting Amy know I want the sale wine or beer - Last week I got a bottle of Rosa Regale Champagne (think that red stuff in Italy that they sell for more than $10 a glass!) Publix price for the whole bottle - $16!! (sale price normally $19) We got a 12 pak of Sam Adams for $12.

I posted this question on the hotels thread and received the following response:

The gift shops [at swalphin] do not sell beer or wine ..... You can get beer in the personal pantry in Picabu for $6-$8 for 6 cans of Bud lite, Miller Lite, or Corona.

If we are staying at the Yacht Club, do you think we will be able to walk over to Picabu to purchase the 6 packs of beer? I'm guessing that would be faster than taking a bus to DT Disney?

If you are staying at YC, you could walk through the BW and go to the Hess station that is over there, instead of taking a bus to the DTD Hess.

I think Hess is your best bet, we stayed at the Boardwalk which was a short walk away and brought much happiness to my boyfriend:woohoo: I don't remember liquor but malt beverages maybe, like Smirnoff Ice. It's basically a gas station with food items, donuts, coffee, milk, juice, etc.

Or at the Beach Club, it's a nice little walk and faster than taking the bus.

awesome, thanks for the advice! I'm considering that beer run service too, seems like they have a good selection :)
