Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

We did find the shoes but they didn't fit her (she has big feet :rotfl:). She did buy some patches and is going to make her own and then just order the Crocs insoles to put in them.

I bought a Tink pin book to put some of my pins in. I have a bullitin (sp) board but it is way to crowded. :rotfl:

I saw a Dooney purse that I have to have. :rotfl: I think I'm going to get it next month after my race.

It's bigger than my white one so I can use it as an everyday purse. It's $210 but with my AP discount I can get it for around $190 OTD.

Awww...that sucks that the shoes didn't fit your mom. :( Did they only have small sizes? I hope that she "pimps" her shoes all cool, that is fun to do :) I used those patches on canvas shoes I got before. I like that purse pattern too. I think the 20% discount really helps. I was looking at the barrel bag version of this one on Saturday. It's cute :)

I also purchased this pin:

I had heard they were sold out so I was very happy when I spotted them behind the counter in the gift shop in the CA Grand hotel. :)

That's a cute pin. I'm glad you were able to find it :) I like looking in the gift shop at the GCH. It's also relaxing to sit and chill in their lobby and read :) I really like the funny LE pins that came out of Chip N' Dale on rides and such. They were freakin expensive though :faint: They were $14.95~$16.95. Yeesh!! I was going to buy some for my little sister and for myself but decided not to. Even with the AP discount it's too much. :(

They had up to a size 10 but that was still to snug. I think she'll have fun decorating her own anyways.

I liked the style of the barrel purse but I want one a bit bigger. I like the messenger style but it's only in the 55th Anniversary print and I didn't care for that one too much.

I did good this time and only bought one pin. :rotfl: I think I traded 5 or 6.

I tend to go for big purses now. :rotfl: I used to like small ones but I prefer ones with a shoulder strap that isn't short and one with lots of room. My favorite ones to use are the Juicy canvas beach bags. They have a lot of room and they are durable. I noticed they actually last longer and are more durable than the velour or terry cloth purses they make. :confused3

I'm not a fan of the 55th Anniversary print either. I did see the colored Dooney and Bourke ones that you mentioned (the same print that you have). I saw that they only had it small messenger bag styles. I was hoping they had it in the larger sizes too but they don't. :( I only saw them in the GCH gift shop.

Vault 28 in DTD had all the prints and purse styles. I like the blue on with white Mickey's but it is cloth and I think it would get dirty quick. I think the colored sketch only comes in the letter carrier and wristlett style.

I liked the blue on white too and actually bought it. I ended up returning it because the straps were too tall and kept falling off of my shoulders. Other than that, it is a cute print but didn't work out for me. Also, I was concerned about it getting dirty too. :rotfl:

My MIL is SOOOO COOOOOL!!! I kid you not, we went to the park the other day.. She CLIMBED to the top of the apple trees to pick apples for the kids!:scared1::lmao: It was freaking awesome. We are having a great time, and she is helping me sew, and teaching me all kinds of German recipes.. Yum, and CHEAP! We have made Kaylee a new dress, its a Feliz... Seriously hard, and with her help, we busted through it in a day! Seriously, google the Feliz pattern. It ridiculous. AND we made Jazzy a dress out of the scraps, and a pattern SHE made. AND we fixed two of Kaylee pants, added fabric to make them longer and VIOLA! Last years pants brand spanking new, and long enough to fit! Not that it would work on Alex's pants, he tears his up, but she sewed those right up.

I love this woman, and I am going to stick her in the closet so she cant go home!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Dang Staley! Your MIL rocks! I am glad that you got to sew stuff for your kids and it sounds like an awesome visit. Glad you are having a good time :goodvibes. I can imagine you hiding her passport and luggage so she can't escape :rotfl: ;)

I am exhausted :faint: I hung out with one of my close friend tonight down in Hollywood. She was working down there and asked if I wanted to meet with her after I got off of work. We went to The Grove which is a fancy looking shopping and dining area. We hung out and tried various foods at the Farmers Market there. I had BBQ bugogi, half of a New Orleans style beinget (it was soft like a fresh donut and had cinnamon inside and powdered sugar on top), and a strawberry crepe. I couldn't finish the crepe but it was real tasty. I bought some fresh seedless red grapes from one of the stands. I have pics to share and some were posted to my FB so you can see :)

That's so cool! I think you should kidnap her :thumbsup2

I looked up the Feliz pattern, wandered through a pdf picture tutorial... holy mackeral! That's a lot of little pieces to put together plus interfacing and all the ruffles.. Yowza! But ohhhh so pretty! :lovestruc

I never took to sewing or crafting.

My mom can re-size patterns. She remade a woman's dress pattern into one for a plus sized little girl, changed the collar to make it more "girlie", added a bow.. etc. I told her she should go into business, there is a market for larger sized clothes for kids that are still age appropriate and be made the right length.
She still uses a very old Singer sewing machine from the 40's - 50's?, it looks like the old treadle style but it has an electric motor.

My sis can make gorgeous quilts but now she doesn't have the time or space to commit to a big project. I miss her quilts. :guilty:

aww, I miss The Grove! We went twice, had a blast wandering among the stores one time and the other devoted to the farmer's market.. truly an awesome fun place to hang and was worth the long drive and the crappy traffic.

My co-worker got fired yesterday...:sad2:

Now the stinky girl that used to sit in front of me is getting moved up to my department and I have to train her and still manage to get my own work done. :sad2::sad2:

I am not a happy camper today.

Is that the same one you had problems with before? That sucks. for you!

I think I went there years ago and don't remember because I wasn't there long. I got to explore this time and check out everything. I was amazed at their humongous store that is the atrocity called American Girl. :rotfl: I also saw a 3-story Barnes and Noble and a huge Cheesecake Factory that had a Club 33 looking style entrance. :lmao:

American Girl has landed at Mall of America too, you can see the cute little girls having a mommy and daughter shopping day clutching their dolls while mom browses in the higher end stores. :cutie:

I understand the draw, I was a dolly loving girl myself. But I'm glad I only have boys or I would be sucked into the obsession of tossing money down on a doll and all the accessories. They are so pretty, but too pricey for my budget.
With more people being budget conscious, maybe the days of American Girl are numbered?

I know what you mean....there is so much adorable girlie stuff everywhere and it's a bit harder to shop for boys sometimes. :sad2: They had a patio area on the 2nd floor of the store where I heard they can have tea or something. My friend just dislikes that store. :rotfl:

I used to like the books and dolls when I was little. My favorites were Molly and Samantha. I never did get one of the dolls but I loved looking at the catalogs I got in the mail and just drooling over the items. :rotfl: I was jealous of one girl in my class because she had a Samantha doll and the matching dress (I don't know if you can still buy matching outfits). :lmao:

I was in Target recently and my little sister laughed at the teen version of Dora the Explorer doll. I didn't even know there was one! I don't like Bratz dolls...those are creepy looking. :scared:

okay, you know how we thought about moving downstairs when the other family moves out (expected next June) because both Eloy and I are having joint issues. Well, our owner came by today and mentioned to dh that there is an upcoming opening in a lower level apt in the other building.

Eloy and I talked about it and we thought well maybe.

It took awhile for my brain to click.. it's for September.. as in just a few weeks from now. :faint:

Moving down two levels sounds completely do-able. Down and across the drive way into the other building? Huh..
Considering we just got a supply delivery and a very fully stocked stockpile in the closet and the freezer. It makes it a little more difficult.
Besides the whole change your address, internet/ phone, etc thing.

I guess anything is possible, I just like to plan ahead. :)

I would like to peek in the other building, you would think it would be the same inside as it looks exactly alike on the outside, but it's not. Our manager couple told us the other building is slightly smaller, the hallways narrower and overall everything is older. At one time the buildings had separate owners. So nothing is the same. Plus we heard it tends to be "smelly" with strong cooking odors.

sooooooooooooooo I dunno.
I put the decision in Eloy's hands because I don't really care either way.

The trade off is that apt faces out into a grassy area with a fence, no one walking by our windows. And does NOT have that brutal afternoon sun we suffer with now. :thumbsup2 The one in our building (to move in June) would face onto the parking lot for Domino's.. foot traffic aplenty and still has that horrid afternoon sun.

Decisions, decisions....

I just wanted t oshow you guys the pin book I bought on Sunday...

I've got it almost full already and I still have a ton more pins. :rotfl:

That is a cute pin book :goodvibes I love Tink! :cutie: I got the full pirate set too (mickey and friends as the POTC characters). I managed to trade for it and was shocked at the sticker price in the stores for the full set :faint: I like Goofy as Davy Jones and Pluto as the dog :teeth:

I really like that Tink pin you have with the eyepatch that says Wicked Wench. That is hilarious! :rotfl: I should post pics of my pins. I have a lot too. :lmao: You should post pics of all your pins too ;) Loved to see them!

 for you! I guess whatever you choose there are pros and cons for both locations huh? I hope that whatever your DH and you decide will make you happy and be the most comfortable for you both. I would think you would like to spy on the Domino's guys again! :rotfl: J/k! ;)
