Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

I'm going to write complaint letters today...
We had a PUR filter that broke off the outer part within weeks, used it anyway until it got ugly looking. Bought a new one, it lasted 4 months until it cracked down the side and made for a lovely water fountain effect as it sprayed all over my counter. :headache:

Next, Lilyette 0811, sniff sniff :sad1: suffered a wire removal in the wash.

The wire had been sticking me under my arm thru the fabric for weeks, I would rearrange and shove the darn thing back, worked for a few more hours before I had to rearrange again. DH of course thought it was amusing to watch me do this odd rearrange business under my shirt. :lmao:

Pulled it out of the wash (gentle cycle on cold) and the wire was sticking out of the fabric. noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

To amuse dh I tried on the bra one wired, one wireless.. totally NOT a good look.:sad2: Making the bra useless even if I pulled the other wire out.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a comfy bra in my size??? do you !!!???!! ARGH!

Oh well...

Our plans for the weekend.. not sure exactly.
We might go with a friend to a small town that is known for its antique stores. Or downtown to watch people compete in the Cuervo Games.
http://popsop.com/33518

Monday we will hoof it over to the thrift store, they have 50% off on every holiday. Good time to shop without much out of the pocket. :thumbsup2

I was hoping my old lady shopping cart I ordered would arrive before the weekend, but Walmart is excruciatingly slow in their shipping. I had a
e-gift card to use up, the cart dropped in price so it was only 13¢ :goodvibes

Welcome and nice to meet you Funball. Glad you could join our chatty little group. So here's my bio...

I BELIEVE I'm 29 (although my birth certificate and I are not in total agreement on that little issue).:lmao:

I'm the mother of two children, DD is 18 and DS is 11 (I believe they may have been switched at birth because there is no way my true children could be so obnoxious!)

I like to clip coupons and toe nails (Funny G. is probably spitting her soda out at the computer screen as she reads this).

I lost my breast to cancer about 4 years ago (and I still can't find the darned thing).

I totally sucked at math in school and barely passed 5th grade math (and now I'm an accountant).

I have no pets (yet somehow each day I seem to be responsible for feeding a dog, 2 cats and a tankful of fish).

Oh yes and most importantly I am a smart aleck!:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

UR FUNNY :rotfl2: I like your humor in fact your all VERY funny!!! well good luck with those pets! my mom know's what it's like to not have a dog, yet she walks kodiak every morning, and brushes and feeds him, we have a 9 year old samoyed, pure bred.. he is my dad's dog, but my mom takes care of him the most..lol lol

and...if anyone is curiouse here is the link to disneyland calendar.. you can see what is up in the d-land today!

Drive by HI!!:drive:

Pix, Good thing you didn't walk over to DCA to join us. We left the park, almost right after you called. Stacie had to pick up her DD, and then Dave called me shortly after that, so I left too. Hope you had a nice day! :goodvibes

Aww, what a cute cat. I've only seen one Disney kitty and that was about a year ago. He was very sweet and let us pet him. This was over by Hungry Bear.

I found a website yesteday that lets take regular photos, turn them B&W and then re-color just the parts you want to be colored. So fun!

That would be cool! The part of my tattoo that hurt the most was when she was closer to my ankle. I would think it would hurt more over bony surfaces, pick a fleshier spot and it's not bad.

I compared the sensation to getting a burn when you take something out of the oven. A good artist makes quick , steady strokes.. it's like oW-WWWWWW oW- wwWWW breathe breathe, relax while the artist wipes the area and refills on ink.

Smaller artwork and less color would be less intense. My outline was annoying like mosquito bites, coloring the wings and adding dots of color OVER the white-- that was the "You B! OW!" part .

It's pop not soda...:snooty:
I should just keep a bottle of windex and a squeegee next to my computer, it would make clean up so much easier.

Awesome!
We'll keep the light on for ya! :thumbsup2

My wrist are kinda boney and I don't know how they do it over viens and stuff because mine kind of stick out. We'll see if I end up getting it or not. Maybe somewhere else like on the inside of my ankle. IDK.

Ohh yeah for ferrel cats, they are pretty nice, I am sure they are used to the sounds(the louds ones) and people . DCA has a lot of cats.

There is a momma cat that lives under the silver zephyr (the train that is now a gift shop and ice cream shop), she is darker but looks like the one in the photo you posted. She is a sweetie but never have been able to pet her…the one I took the photo of---that photo is first of 5 that I have. I ended up touching her tail, she just looked at me in shock :scared1: and amazement  that someone was trying to pet her, but she did not run away at all..and she was on the rock wall that lines the grape vines at DCA near the winery! There is family of orange/white stripe cats…:lovestruc

Sorry everyone to boar you with my cat talk! :upsidedow

here is another pick of the kitty:

they are there!! they aren't just out. they may be in bushes etc. but you can deffinantly see the mamma cat at the train that is now a gift shop/ice cream shop near taste pilots grill. she lurks under it and around it. :flower3:

omg i just read gary coleman died...

There is a cat that hangs out at White Water Snacks in the outdoor seating area, along the wooden slats bordering the seating area.

The CMs have named her and feed her chicken scraps on a regular basis.
(Cynthia? Samantha?? I forgot)
She doesn't like to be petted but she will sit and join you while you dine outside, just offer her some burger or chicken... she doesn't like french fries.

She graces me with her presence each time I have gone to WWS solo or with my boys. Though with all the construction to build the addition to the Grand.. I wonder if she still lurks there.

And yes, I read a snippet of Gary Coleman died. We tend to forget he was older and had many health issues, it's silly that in our eyes he is always the cute kid on that show long ago.

It's pop not soda...:snooty:

You silly Minnesotan...Pop is the kid's grandpa...soda is what we drink...not to be confused with baking soda which I never seem to use anyway.

The cats sure blend in, they seem to be everywhere once you know where to look...but then again cats seem to be attracted to me for some strange reason.:confused3

I would post a photo of myself, but I can't remember my password for photobucket.:lmao: So if you wanna see me go to Facebook and look for Alison Mcalister Irwin & send me a friend request.:thumbsup2

BTW...notice you didn't make your own photo black & white with glowing yellow eyes!:rotfl:

Morning gals! I am back amongst the living!

Today is not so bad. YESTERDAY well that was another story. I got there earlier than I needed to as we were sure of traffic at that hour but I got all my paperwork filled out, co-pay paid and they took back early which was nice. I got all squared away, IV in etc and I had something new I had never had, a nice warm air blanket thingy. It was pretty cool as I am ALWAYS cold esp with my blood pressure meds. It is this plastic throwaway blanket thing that they plug this air hose into and it blows up hot air and keeps you NICE and toasty. I didn't have general anesthesia but rather just the IV kind and I guess the surgery only lasted like 30 minutes and when I came out of it felt ok. Not sore just super dizzy but otherwise ok. I was able to take some sips of water and mom was trying to think of something I could eat that was not too bad so she bought me a vanilla shake an a muffin. I was able to eat it no problem. Got home and went to bed but as the pain meds started to wear off I was in quite a bit of pain and the meds I had didn't seem to be working so I got up to read my paperwork and their went my food LOL.

I called them and they said that I just needed to keep ahead of the pain with the meds and eventually it WOULD work so I called my dad and had him bring me some crackers and 7-up and then when shane got home from work I was able to eat some soup and that was my day.

Now today the pain is minimal and I still feel a little dizzy but otherwise MUCH better.

So it wasn't too bad overall.

I think by tomorrow I should be able to be up and around. Not going to overdo but I shouldn't be bedridden either.

Sara LOVE your pic of the kitty and thanks for sharing a pic of you. I will have to see if I can dig out a pic of myself. :)

Anywho that's bout it for me. I think I am going to go back and lay on the couch. Have a good day everyone!

I found a pic from last year. This is from my uncle's 90th birthday party. Most of my recent pics are on facebook but anyway this is me and the dh and the kids. The older girls is my stepdaughter who no longer lives with us and of course the little ones are my girls Katy and Shelby.

I think everyone should share a pic if they have one. It would be fun to put a face to the name :)

Hi Kelly! So glad everything went well. Those warm air paper blanket things are the best.:thumbsup2 Glad you're not too sore and hopefully your pain meds will work.

Liked you photo, you have a lovely looking family (yourself included).:)

OK, I figured out my password on photobucket, so here's a photo of me!:lmao:

Seriously though, here I am with my boyfriend...shhhh don't tell my DH about this one!:rotfl2:

boo3-3.jpg

:rotfl2: Love the photos! And :welcome: to those of you who I don't know!!

Dh and I got some engagement photos done the other day and now we're having some pricing issues :scared1: We paid 220 dollars (we paid in pounds but I'm trying to convert for you) for the initial photo shoot, which apparently didn't include getting any prints. She wants us to buy an album which she's charging us 600 dollars for and if we want a disc with the pictures on it we have to pay 400 dollars. So a total of 1,220 dollars for engagement photos! That's insane! So we've told her we'll only buy the disc because on top of that she'll have to ship the album to us to Canada and that could be another 100 dollars or more, so geesh. This is stressful. I really hope she agrees to just the disc or I'll have to start thinking of ways to create a stink.

Morning and happy Sunday. Alison you crack me up! LOVE the pics! Love that family pic esp. Looks like my family ;)

Wish I could say yesterday was better but unfortunately things are not going well here. For the last month or so I had heard via the grapevine that my uncle (dad's brother) had been having some issues but that was about it. Didn't hear much else. Well then when my mom took me to the surgery she said Ed (uncle) is not doing well and was in the hospital. Apparently he was having bleeding that they didn't know what it was and they put him in the hospital and were going to take out his spleen. They had thought he possibly had Leukemia and several other things but were unsure what was wrong.

Well apparently as bad as things were they weren't THAT bad and I guess my dad had gone to see him in the hospital between helping me out on Friday. Well I guess Friday night he had a major turn for the worse and coded several times. Apparently all the blood transfusions he was getting caused him to throw a clot in his heart. Well all day yesterday his children, wife and my dad gathered at the hospital and it got to a point where they said he was going to either die or they could try this blood thinner but with his bleeding problems it was risky cuz he could bleed to death. Well then last night my mom said they were trying to stablize him to get him to cat scan and he coded AGAIN. They did rescucitate but I guess it is NOT good and the last I spoke with my mom she said they did a DNR on him and at this point they were waiting for his last son to arrive from Washington State. I thought he was already there but apparently he was driving. I don't know WHY he didn't fly??? But anyway I haven't heard from my mom yet this morning but it doesn't sound very promising. He is only 68! I think the most shocking part about it is even though we knew he was having issues he really wasn't that sick and generally fairly healthy and active. :( And what's worse is my dad's health has been pretty bad the last few years and my mom is really worried that this going to affect him badly and he is going to get REALLY depressed. Both his parents are dead and now his only real brother. He has 9 brothers and sisters but this is his only real one the rest are halves and steps. SOOO everything now is kind of on hold as I don't know what is going to happen. Obviously I couldn't go to the hospital because I wasn't feeling 100% myself and they don't allow to many people for ICU patients as it is.

On top of everthing else I have this WEIRD thing that I need to get looked at after EVERYTHING else. I have been having a lot of joint pain mostly in my knees and shoulders and I EASILY keep pulling muscles or something in my shoulders. I pulled one in my left shoulder several months ago just barely doing anything and it hurt to lift my arm past straight out and THAT is finally better and then when I was at the surgery place I was just moving around and now I have done it to my stupid right arm. It feels like I either pulled, tore or pinched something in my shoulder and it hurts to move my arm certain ways. SO frustrating. Like I needed THAT on top of everything. At least the other pain is pretty much gone. I just have a nagging headache and am tired because I haven't been able to sleep but otherwise at least from my surgery I feel fairly healed.

We were hoping to take the girls to a movie today or tomorrow but now I don't really know what is going to happen. Next week is crazy too because the girls have their pictures for swim on Wed and then we WERE going to get together either thurs or Fri to celebrate Shane and I's birthdays with my parents but the girls need to make up their lesson in swim and now I don't know if my uncle passes when they may have a funeral and that is something I have to consider now. Plus Friday I volunteered to help out at the girl's school so it is just crazy up in the air right now. Also next Saturday mom and I were supposed to go to San Francisco and again with everything happening all plans are kind of on hold till we know what is happening.

I hope everyone else is having a good weekend and Tina that is crazy expensive BUT I am not surprised. My cousin got married last year and my girls were flower girls and I ordered just a FEW pics and had to pay like 100 just for about 10 pics! NUTS!

Have a good day and rest of your weekend everyone!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post. I haven't had a chance to read back. Yesterday I went to DL and then park hopped over to DCA for a bit. I just shopped around and ate a late lunch at Whitewater Snacks. I heard that in Fantasyland they had opened a new candy store. It's next to Village Haus and it's just a tiny candy shop. I think it's cute but all the merchandise is stuff that you can find throughout the park- salt water taffy, caramel apples, peanut brittle, etc. Here are a few pics I took:

I had fun in the park and got a lot of compliments on my pins and also my Tokidoki bag. A couple CM's stopped me and said they loved it and also random people. One lady was pushing a stroller inside Clothiers and then stopped and said: "BTW, I LOVE your bag! It is so cute!" :cutie:

I'm trying to collect the CM silhouette pins. I have a couple but am not sure which ones I am missing. I need to check ebay to see. I think there are more than 1 set of them, which makes it weird and confusing but I will see which ones I need to "hunt" for. :rotfl: Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Last night was a bit hard for me. My therapist did call me the other day and just wanted to check up on me. She said that she was getting over pneumonia and had to cancel on everyone last week. She told me I'm going to have my share of good days and bad days. She said I can't punish myself and think that I shouldn't feel sad or hurt by this breakup. She told me it's normal and I need to know that this is not a personal rejection but that my ex just doesn't want to do any work and that I am too much work for him. She told me that narcissistic people do not change and they do not mature. She told me: "You don't miss him, you miss what's familiar and that's okay and that's normal." That's very true.....I don't miss being with him, I don't miss being treated like dirt and unappreciated and disrespected. I just miss the thought of having someone there.

Sometimes I just really wish I could get some validation that he is suffering and that it's not true that he doesn't miss me at all and doesn't feel any pain or sorrow. I don't think I will get those things....

My therapist said that most likely, I'm not going to be contacted by him again because I know too much. She said I have had therapy, I read a book on emotional abuse and can recognize what type of abuser he is, I confronted him over the phone last month and told him things from that book and told him he is narcissistic. She said that in the past, I didn't know any of these things and that's why I would forgive him and the cycle would repeat. She said this time it's different because I am too good for him, too assertive and he doesn't like that. She said he is a porn addict and will look for women who have low confidence and low self-esteem so he can control them.

Thanks for reading all this. It helps to just speak my mind sometimes and get it all out. :guilty: I am not sure what I will be doing today. I was thinking of getting a haircut but the lady who cuts my hair is not working today. :-/

I booked Ariel's Grotto for when my cousin's DD8 comes down to visit in less than 2 weeks. I am not sure if my mom will go but it's me, my little sis, my cousin's DD8 and maybe my mom. I just booked 4 of us just in case. I'm not sure if my dad would go but probably not. I think it would be fun to celebrate my cousin's DD8's b-day early. Her b-day is July 15th but she lives in NC so I think it would be fun. The CM put a note in the system. :) I got her a b-day button yesterday too. My b-day is before hers, so maybe I should celebrate too! J/k! :rotfl:

I'll post more pics for you guys later. Hope you have a good day. :grouphug:
