Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Good Morning!

Happy Monday!

On Saturday night DBF and I went out dancing with 7 of our friends for one of our friends birthdays. We had so much fun but my legs are still sore. :rotfl:

Today I am starting my official 1/2 Marathon training plan. Just stretching and strength training today with a 3 mile run tomorrow.

Afternoon gals!

Well unfortunately I am NOT at work today because yesterday I got a NASTY headache and not only is IT still lingering but now my stomach is bothering me. I think the headaches is half allergy related and half because of the weather constantly changing. Barometric pressure changes really affect me migraine wise and we have been going from hot to cold constantly round here. Mom and I ran out to the galleria to try the crocs for the girls and I confirmed shelby's size but still am not positive on Katy's because it honestly depends on the style and they had a pretty limited selection and NOT the ones she wanted. SOOO I "think" I know what size to get but not 100%. I went on their website and signed up for their newsletter to get a 20% off coupon and wouldn't you know it the code won't work. GRRRR. SO I have an e-mail in to the company but as of yet I have not heard back from them. Hrmph! I am hoping that they get back to me cuz I really don't want to pay full price!

Anyway then the rest of the day was spent relaxing till Lost and I thoroughly enjoyed all the shows.

Now today I am home trying to get some chores done round here but mostly just trying to relax and nurse my ailments. I am hoping they all go away before Friday because the LAST thing I need is to go into my surgery ALREADY feeling like DOO DOO.

I rescheduled my dentist apt tomorrow because if I ALREADY have a headache I don't want to deal with that as cleanings usually GIVE me a headache and don't want to deal with making things worse and I am going to work tomorrow anyway now since I didn't today (worked out anyway since we didn't get any checks in and I couldn't pay the bills today anyway :) )

I am most likely going to skip swim tonight as well although Shane and the girls will go and then I am hoping to feel better by Thur because not only do I have to work but I want to get a small cake and pick up some rental dvds to celebrate Shane's birthday which is actually saturday since I doubt I will feel up to it.

Otherwise we have no real plans for the holiday weekend since I don't know how long I will be down. I am "hoping" I feel better by monday so perhaps we can go to a movie or something but not counting on it. I DO need to be better by Wed as the girls have pictures for swim. So that is my goal.

Anyway that's it for me. I am going to go back and lay back down.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hello,

Kelly- those are cool pics :) My little sister is part of the CSA Swim Team :)

Christina-I'm sorry that your going away party did not pan out well :( That really is a bummer. Just as Alison said, we are all happy that you will be on the same time wave length as us and hopefully we can chat with you more often. :goodvibes

Saturday I went to Disneyland and just had a nice time. I called Melody to see if she was in DL but she was over in DCA with 2 Divas and were going to do some wine tasting. I think she was meeting up with her DH afterwards. I was hoping to see her but at least I got to chat with her for a bit :) She did invite me to join them while they drank wine but I told her I don't drink alcohol but thanks for the invite. :cutie:

I had to get a bracelet made for my little sister in Frontierland. She saw mine and wanted one too. OMG, the line was terrible!! This is the line for the stand where they personalize it and engrave your name and can add little charms to it. It was just really unorganized and caused a lot of confusion for guests waiting. They had one CM running the machines and one manager ringing up customers. Then they have that small stand next door and the cashier was ringing up guests and sending them over to the other stand to have everything engraved. They didn't tell us where to stand and such to hand over our merchandise and to also pick-up the merchandise. It was just one big mess. A lot of guests were pissed off and on top of all that, they misspelled names incorrectly. :scared: Not good... I hope they figure out a better system to organize that better.

I took some pictures which I will try to post later. :) Hope you are all having a good day.

So, could you have a doctor order a standing prescription for the stuff at a pharmacy, one that is nearby the dialysis center. Then you run over and get it. You know me, always finding ways to save money. I know your insurance covers it, but sheesh, no reason to charge them an arm & a leg.

He actually hasn't needed any since October, we have a vial in reserve if needed. Typically if they can keep his iron up then his hemoglobin doesn't dip. He gets IV Iron (Venifer) during his monthly appts as an IV push med.

Home hemo patients typically need less EPO, they are not exactly sure why. For some reason frequent dialysis keeps the hemoglobin up. :confused3
The center sends home a vial or two as needed, charges $500 and Medicare says NOPE, we give you this much instead. His other insurance agrees and only pays the remaining 20%. Doesn't stop the huge corporation that is DaVita to try to charge more... they keep resubmitting monthly bills in triplicate to his employer insurance, which in turn denies the claim as it already has been paid by both Medicare and the insurance (and sometimes the state). I laugh when I see the statements, HA! screw you money hungry jerks! :thumbsup2

:yay: Awesome!

I don't want to get into details..

E and I are concerned for ds safety at school.. related to my earlier post.
E will be going to the school in the morning to talk to the principal and deans, their policy is bullying and harassment is not acceptable and they take any threat seriously.. yet they haven't made an effort to ensure our son's safety.

Now ds doesn't want to go to school, I don't blame him. He has three weeks left, if it was a shorter time we would consider pulling him early.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wine. I love wine and I love cheese. I went and bought some awesome Italian cheese's today, I had so much fun picking out some cheese with the cheese monger. He gave me some new good ones to try out. One is a cheese made with saffron, OMG Sooooooooo good. Ya know pixter, my theory is that wine isn't really alcohol. It is so delicious and usually alcohol is bleh, so if it's good it can't be alcohol. ;)

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that your ds is having so much trouble for being true to his beliefs. What a shame. Hopefully the school can work with you to put a stop to this before it gets worse. Poor guy. :grouphug:

Good morning girls!

Rochelle I am glad you had fun this weekend at DL. Too bad you couldn't catch up with Mel and just have a coke with them. I just love Mel to death she is such a sweetie! Mom and I are going to be there in June. I don't know if you ever can get there during weekdays since we won't be there on the weekends but would LOVE to say hi if you can. We arrive on the 21st (monday) and leave on the 25th (Friday). Let me know if you think you can stop by for a drink a ride just to say hi whatever ;)

Tina the cheese shopping sounds fun. That is one thing about Europe that I loved was how they have all the little speciality shops vs the big supermarkets. Not saying they DON'T have supermarkets, they probably do now. I was there in 83 and back then my relatives went to the bakery for their bread and the butcher for their meat and they did have some small stores for can goods and such but they pretty much bought fresh food daily as they lived in small apartments and had an apartment size fridge. I know it would personally drive me nuts cuz we are sam's club shoppers and buy in bulk LOL but I guarantee it is so much healthier that way and more fun!! :)

B I am so sorry about what is going on with your son. We had a TON of issues with my stepdaughter and the school did virtually NOTHING. She ended up dropping out but we considered taking her out and homeschooling her and I am now seriously thinking of switching the jr high and high school that the girls will feed into because I was NOT happy with the ones that our grammar school feeds into as those are the ones my oldest went to. I hope you can get everything resolved and that he can get through these last few weeks and find SOME enjoyment and not feel miserable. The last weeks of school are supposed to be fun not a scary time! ((hugs))

As for me my head was killing me all day and into the night again. I went to bed at 8! For the time being I am feeling a little better. I took a darvocet last night and that helped a little. I cancelled my dentist apt for today and now my mom said the commissions didn't come in so just wait till Thurs when I was going to come in anyway. SOOO I get a repreive for the week which is good considering I don't feel that hot anyway.

Girls did well at practice last night I guess and shane has set up a special training for Katy to work on her dives, take offs and turns. I am really excited to see how their relay team as well as she indiv does at the next meet. I won't be there so I will have to have shane call me.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and talk soon!

:) Thanks everyone, hopefully this will all blow over. I had hoped the weekend would help it calm down.. but now with Facebook UGH! :sad2:

Everyone "knows" what happened, making for some bad rumor mills and choosing of sides. When you watch those news programs about cyber bullying, you think.. that won't happen to my kid.. sadly enough it does happen.

I don't understand the current rules at this district, other districts call for immediate expulsion due to zero tolerance. You've heard the news reports.. As simple as a kid bringing Tylenol to school. This was more than that and ds wanted to help this student by doing what was right.

My dh deals with this crap all the time (teaching in an urban school). I know it's naive but I didn't think it would be an issue in our district. Or at least not until high school. :guilty:

hi i am funball! and i would like to know where i can find a forum for california adventure!!

thanks!! :)

Hi and welcome. To my knowledge there is no specific forum JUST for CA. If you want to ask questions you can go to the main Disneyland board and should get most of your questions asked. What would you like to know? Perhaps one of us can help you. I have been there MANY times and know it very well as do some of the others I am sure so if it is a question you have feel free to ask. :)

Ohh cool thanks . I don’t really have a question. Was just looking for the discussion threads on DCA! I don’t really have any questions right now…but thanks for your help anyway! :yay:

Hope things work out ok. Schools seem to go one way or the other, either over react or don't react at all. Kind of makes you wonder where they all lost their common sense.
:sad2:

Morning gals! Happy Hump day!

Yesterday it was actually nice till later afternoon and then it POURED again. It was ok though cuz we rented a bunch of movies that we had wanted to see in the theaters and got all caught up since we skipped swim. We rented Extraordinary Measures, The Messenger, Dear John, The Road, Legion and that one with Mel Gibson where his daughter is killed (forgot the name). Extraordinary Measures was really good as was Dear John. LOVE Nicholas Sparks! Not as good to me as the Notebook or Message in a bottle but still good. The Road was extremely depressing but still OK and the Messenger was good as well but also depressing.

I will be taking those back today and we will watch the other two tonight.

It was a perfect night to have a movie fest. We usually on go to the movies for REAL blockbusters like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, the real biggies and so all these other smaller films that I see and think, hey I would like to see those, I usually just wait and rent :)

We WILL go see Toy Story 3 though and prob a few others over the summer. I am debating about taking the girls to see Shrek. IF I feel better by Monday we may go see that or something else. We shall see.

Anyway I am off again today so more chores to do and then tomorrow I am going in to work and then we will have a little small family celebration for Shane's birthday and I am supposed to hear from the hospital with last minute instructions about my surgery.

Then Friday is the big day. Katy has a swim party at school for getting no citations all year and I sure hope the weather cooperates! Other than that we have NO plans for the weekend as I am not sure how long it is going to take me to recover but as I said IF I feel better after a few days we may attempt to do some stuff. It remains to be seen.

Anyway that's bout it for me. Hope everyone has a GREAT day and I hope you all have some fun plans for the holiday weekend!! :)

DH talked to the principal, she was not aware of the threats... uhhh, do your deans not talk to you :confused3
She took it seriously as we had documentation as proof.

The student in question will likely be given out of school suspension for the threats.

He only got two days of in-school suspension on the previous incident, two days were he was not supervised the entire time.. gleefully telling other students "tell him I'm going to..." during breakfast and mouthing threats outside a classroom window while ds was in class. :sad2:
The point of in school suspension is to remove the student from the general population, to be supervised at all times.. obviously someone dropped the ball. :rolleyes1

Dh talked to his own principal and asst principal, they agreed that our school was too lenient. Okay, so I'm not a crazy helicopter mom .. :rotfl2:

Ds and this student only have PE together, he rides bus/ ds walks... that made me feel better about the situation. If it becomes an issue, I don't mind sending a note to pull him from PE.

Now it's just a matter of waiting it out for what is left of the school year.

-----------------------------------
Dh finally was convinced to use facebook. I found all of his co -worker buddies and friended them for him. It's funny how much he screwed up at first trying to figure out how to post.. he uses the mobile version only, which is slightly different. He has a wicked dirty mind.. always wants to post little jabs, jokes.. but then he remembers the boys can read those too. Forcing a little filter between mind and typing fingers. :lmao: This will be good for him. :thumbsup2

B I am glad that the school is doing SOMETHING! I hope that this helps and I agree if you have to pull him from the class. School and being a teen is hard ENOUGH without adding bullying to the mix. I hope this stops!

That is funny about your dh and facebook. My dh was on it before "I" was LOL. He is obsessed with his computer. WAY more than I am. Hope you have a good day! :)

kelmac you were soo helpfull yesterday that i have one question, maybe you can help me!

under your screen name you have a like a qoute "I wish I lived near one of the parks so I could go anytime I wanted"

ok so i have seen some members that have qoutes there but in different colors and they got them to move.. how do you do that? :rainbow:

Actually there was a person on the boards called the "tag fairy" lol. I am not sure who this person is/was but no one has seen them for awhile so they may have left the boards. I know that there is a way you can go into your profile and add quotes yourself but I don't know if you can color or animate them. I am REALLY bad about this stuff LOL. But as for MY particular quotes and I know a lot of the people's they were added by the tag fairy. Perhaps if you ask a moderator they would know more but that is the extent of what I personally know about it. :)

Hope that helps and feel free to ask any questions and if I can't answer them I am sure someone can. :)

hahaha, mine is worse. :P

what is worse? your tags or your day???

How does it feel being a home owner now? :flower3:
I know work has been rough for you per your facebook posts, what the heck are they doing in ODV????! Pix tells me she has had several bad experiences in a row, someone not trained properly and odd ways to organize staff... it's frustrating to guests and I can't imagine how the CM feels in the situation.

I did a whirlwind of grocery shopping this morning, totally confusing my sis explaining the deals. I walked her thru an order, but forgot to tell her to separate one batch to ensure a print out of a catalina coupon.. oops! She was shorted a $4 print out :guilty:

She plans to go back later in the week and run another round. I had already been once on Sunday, did 5 orders. Did another 6 today.

My head is spinning to keep it all straight but I'm stocked for 6 months on Miracle Whip and salad dressing. Nice stash of cheese and hot dogs in the freezer to last a little while. :woohoo: Wish I had more cheese coupons, this special offer pops up once a year. Last time I got enough shredded cheese to last about 6 months, I hate paying full price for anything!

Not sure what store chains are participating, Albertson's should be as they are also owned by the Super Valu chain. Scoot over to A Full Cup or Hot Coupon World and see if your local chain is doing the same deal.

After catalina and coupons:
I paid 20¢ each for Oscar Mayer hot dogs or bologna.
80¢ for wheat thins - 10 oz
19¢ bbq sauce
7¢ miracle whip and salad dressing
82¢ for cheese -8 oz

And to make the deal ohhhhhhhhh so sweet..
I have a buy $30 get $10 rebate

Does free food taste better?
Heck yeah!

:rotfl:
