Oooohhh. Quiet. I would so dig that. Mikalah hasnt been going to sleep before midnight the past couple of nights, and it is REALLY trying on my patience. Last night I was shutting everything off, and getting ready to hop in the shower, and I hear this... Ill help you mama!! SHOWER?? Im good, I can do it myself. But sure enough, in about 30 seconds she was nekid in the shower with me!

I'm so glad my kids are older now, I was starting to think I would never get to go to the bathroom without little fingers sticking under the door.

I lived by myself for 7 years before we got married and I loved it. I had several opportunities for roommates, but always turned them down. I would rather have my own small apartment then to have to share with someone. Anyway, I still find myself missing that quietness. Not that I don't love my family, but I just miss being alone sometimes.

I KNOW. She has been at it all day. MOMMY.... WAH WAH WAH. So she has spent a large chunk of the day crying in her room.. because I dont want to hear it. It gets old FAST for me. Thankfully we are now watching.. guess? Oh thats RIGHT. Care Bears. AGAIN.

DS4 has been really clingy lately. It was the week when DH was gone, but also when potty-training was going well. It was kinda weird for him to be so snuggly with me!

huh... Mikalah has been like that with me lately. Following me everywhere.. Begging to sleep in the bed with me.. Taking showers with me. Wanting me to CARRY her! I almost threw my back out today lugging her to her room!

She has always been closer to me, but this is just taking that cake right now. I am not a snuggly person.. Especially when its hot. and the girl SWEATS like nobodies business! Its just odd. She generally isnt so clingy.

Was it you and I just talking about this the other night? I was telling someone how Ds4 was suddenly clingy, and about the potty-training, and whoever it was reminded me that it's typical for kids to revert a bit as they gain more independence in another area of their life... Like potty-training, going to school, or any other major milestone.

Maybe with the potty-training, and/or the swimming accomplishments, she's realizing she's more independent, and it scares her a bit?

I was telling DS4 how proud I was that he was such a big boy, and he cried, "I'm not your big boy! I'm your baby!"

I was just thinking "Whoaaaa!"

I told him that he was becoming such a big boy, and it made me very proud and happy, but that he would ALWAYS be my baby, just like his brother would always be my baby, too. That seemed to satisfy him for the moment.

It wasnt me.. But that does make sense. It would be kinda wierd for it to be the potty training thing, thats been a few months. But the swimming makes sense. We have really been pushing her with it.. Since she seems to have really taken to it.

Its very easy to forget that shes only 3 sometimes.. Especially since she tends to act, and LOOK, much older.

Especially since she's losing her baby chub, too. In those last pictures I was thinking, OMG she looks soooo much older now! Definitely more little girl than chubby toddler.

We saw a cute 18mo at gymnastics on Thursday, and he played a bit with him. They had so much fun chasing each other! Then he says to me, "I like dat baby, Mama." I said "Yeah, I like that baby, too. You used to be like that baby, but now you're such a big boy! See how much bigger you are than the baby?" He laughed and said yes.

Then he said, "Mama, I wish we had a baby." And I said, "Honey, I do too. But we don't."

I know. It totally happened overnight, too. Its such a bummer to see her lose all that chub!

I didn't say anything, but it made me a little sad to see her growing up! Just like seeing DS4 growing up makes me a little sad. I think he sees that it makes me a little sad and maybe that's why he doesn't want to grow up, you know?
