Awww, poor little guy! At least he stuck it out.nope. Jake isnt liking swim lessons this session. This is his 5th week in a row and he's been loving it. He just doesnt like this guy because he doesnt treat Jake like a baby and actually pushes him to swim a little farther than he has been. Jake just cries on the side. It drives me nuts. He's been so happy but when someone corrects him or pushes him to do something a tad bit harder he has a hard time dealing with it. I'm concerned about kindergarten with that boy. Especially all day. I just dont think he's mature enough.
we thought he had outgrown it til yesterday then today he does the same thing. He acted like he was drowning and couldnt hold on to the side of the wall. The only positive thing is he didnt get out of the water and come running toward me like he's done with other activities in the past. He just needs to get a little tougher skin.

DS7 lost interest in swim lessons over a year ago because his instructor was too easy. He practically carried DS around the pool, it was totally ridiculous! DS does much better when he's pushed a bit and encouraged to do his best. He had 2 or 3 sessions in a row with this guy, and then totally refused to go anymore.
He sometimes gets frustrated when he can't get it right away, so I always point out how much better/faster/further he went than last time. The first class he floated on his back really well, but was frustrated last week because he didn't do the float as well, but he was doing better with other stuff. I told him swimming is just like riding a bike or any other learned skill, the more you practice the better you get at it.
