Good morning, hyenas!
Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but summer has finally hit the Northwest! :cool2:

Today is supposed to be around 82 and is already gorgeously sunny! Yeah, baby! :sunny:

I just dropped DS7 off at basketball camp, and DS4 and I will be headed to Costco in a bit. I have only 4 necessities to get there, but somehow we always wind up coming away with way more than we expected, so wish me luck! ;)

I'm always lucky if I can get out of Costco for less than $400. I need to go for TP, paper towels, etc. but I just can't afford that kind of TP right now!:lmao: Sometimes I think about downsizing my car, but then I make a Costco Run and change my mind.

I have been calling DH...(mike) RICHARD....all morning...he didn't understand that at first...thats what was so funny....then I explained it...HE WAS...HAHAHAHA VERY FUNNY...so from now on I shall call him Richard...

We called the homeowner...they won't call us back....

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: We had a meth house in our old neighborhood. We decided to start a neighborhood watch. The first meeting the police helped us get started, we all discussed the drug house, the police invited us to help...blatantly write down license numbers, make sure to play out front with our kids (discourages buyers), etc... Boy it sure worked! At the next meeting a month later the "meth couple" came! They angrily confronted everyone and said they understood they were being talked about. We just all sat there for a minute and then the policeman got up and started reading their rap sheet, along with the names of their recent "visitors" and their rap sheets. Shut them right up and they grabbed their coats and made a bee-line for the door!:rotfl2:

Anyway, while we didn't put them out of business. We made it tough for them to sell from their house. Their house was a HUD house where they built it themselves, sweat equity type of thing. Well the husband got arrested for selling drugs out of the house (undercover operation). They were behind on their house payments. There is a little know clause in the HUD sweat equity program where if you get caught dealing drugs in the home and get even 1 day behind on your payments they can foreclose on the house. So that's how we eventually got them out.

What's up Alison? Thank you for the cute card!! I got it yesterday!

Good morning Hyenas!

I woke up early this morning and did a Starbucks run before work. I got my granda caramel frappuccino with extra caramel and a turkey pesto sandwich.

It's really busy at work and one of my customers is driving me nuts! They are so darn lazy and keep poor records, so I have to re-send things over and over and it's just very tedious and frustrating.

Good Morning Pix! I'm closing my eyes because I don't want to read about all of the good things you are eating.:lmao:

I'm 5 pounds down, 20 more to go to reach my goal of 115. I can tell I'm losing already because I already have a few pairs of size 8's that are getting baggy on me. I found a pair of size 6 jeans at a garage sale this weekend and they fit!!!! Albeit a little tight, they still fit!!

Today I started on a food journal. It keeps me from eating so much and makes me more accountable. Sometimes just knowing that I have to put it in writing will discourage me from eating something bad for me!

Today so far:

1 Coffee with sugar & cream
1 banana
1 low fat mozzarella cheese stick

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 (well except for the sugar & cream part!) But I have to give myself a little something.

Congrats on losing weight! That's awesome! :cool1: I've been reading French Women Don't Get Fat. The author suggests keeping a food journal so that one can see what "offenders" are being consumed the most. It's supposed to help cut down on the "offenders" or help you eliminate it completely. She mentions some friends of hers and the various diets and such they have tried. She also notes that the methods and stories she listed do not work for everyone and that it's really a hit or miss when it comes to food, since each person is different.

I like the book so far because she lists recipes and she doesn't force a specific diet on you. She just says to basically cut down on certain foods or eat something occassionally and not daily.

My bf put a deposit down on the motorcycle he wants. He is staring the class next week and will be given a test. If he passes they will issue him a license and it won't be necessary to go down to the DMV to test for it.

He's looking for pants and shoes. He got a Frank Thomas brand jacket that was on clerance at Cycle Gear. Do you happen to know if this brand is good?

You are so welcome! Now if only I could find a :scared1: smilie to put in cards!:lmao:

I really don't have much trouble losing weight. Actually weight has never really been an issue most of my life, but having to gain all that weight for my surgery made me the biggest I have ever been. I really didn't feel that comfortable weighing 140 and it was making me feel really lethargic and not nearly as energetic as I normally was.

My diet is pretty simple. Get my butt up off the couch and don't eat a bunch of crap. They can write all the books they want, but it really is pretty simple...a person eats too much and doesn't exercise enough.

You guys might have noticed that I haven't been on the DIS as much the last few weeks. I've been forcing myself to do things in the evening other than watch tv or sit on the computer. Even if it's just things around the house, vacuuming, dusting, watering plants, etc...

To be honest, I love food and have pretty much been able to eat whatever I want all my life. But I guess that's because I love veggies and fruits and tend to migrate towards lower calorie dishes anyway. So I've always had to be very active to make up for the fact that I love to eat!:thumbsup2

Not really sure about that brand. We get most of our stuff at www.motosport.com. They have an awesome clearance selection that changes daily and I know they carry road bike gear also. I just got DS a set of Fox riding gear there for $99 yesterday. It was the motocross pants, jersey & gloves. That was a great price because you can pay that much just for the pants alone.:thumbsup2

Even though DH has a Harley, he really isn't much into accessories for himself. He has a HD jacket that he bought a few years ago (got it off Ebay I think) and a pair of leather chaps. Other then that, he just wears his regular work boots and jeans when he rides. Seems like all the money we spend is on the kid's motocross riding gear.

Well I really need to get my rear back to work. I'll pop back on later today.:goodvibes

Good for you! That's really awesome!! :cheer2:

I'm hunting for a Wii Fit. I tried it and it has 40 acitivites you can do. It also helps you set up how much weight you want to lose per week, month, etc. It's really cool. The only sad part is that it's sold out everywhere. :(

I saw a commercial for this exercise machine...I didn't catch the name of it but you kneel on it and it rolls back and forth and twists so that it works your abs. It looked really cool. I've also considered buying the gazelle but I haven't seen it in stock anywhere.

I wanted to take walks in the evening but I work a lot of OT and by the time I get home it's really dark outside. Our neighborhood doesn't have enough street lamps so it's a bit freaky.

I stopped consuming tons of soda. I haven't bought it from the grocery store. I've been drinking small bottles of Aquafina, Oddwalla and Snapple. I'll have maybe 1 a day or not at all. I used to drink at least 2-3 cans a day, so this is a small step for me.

I'm trying to cutback on Starbucks. I only drink it if I'm extremley sleepy and need to wake up. I tried Jamba Juice with an energy boost but it makes me even more sleepy.

Hey Alison, we are off in a few minutes for the day but I wanted to say thank you for the card I recieved yesterday. That was sweet of you! :)

Its nice to get some good mail every now and then!

I love getting fun mail!
makes up for the junk mail and bills..

:goodvibes I peeled off part of my card from Alison and attached it to my fridge, perfect! Actually Poly is not into catnip, maybe when she is older.

Now if you have a string of lights with plastic chilies on them-- watch out!
I pulled them out of a box today for N to put above his bed. She followed Noah all over the apartment.. trying very hard to pull off the chilies to play with ... MEOW??!! Mew! Meow!!???

It's another Kitty Crack moment (which is what we call the cheaper cat food, Iams, that we get when we are too busy to go to Petco for her good stuff. .. she goes nuts and tried to rip open the package.) Crazed druggie style.

The card from Alex.. umm very interesting.. mental note "do NOT spill coffee on clothing while around Alex"

Hubby looked at .. HUH??.. I laughed and said oh no that's Alex.. describes her to a "T" -- ummm okay and he walks off shaking his head.

:lmao: :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao:

puckerup: Afternoon gals! I am off in a few to take the big beastie to soccer. We just got home from MILs house.. Boy... THAT was fun. ;) :lmao: Oh well.. At least the hubby made up for it. ;) :woohoo:  :woohoo: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Aloha Hyenas! Got 3 payroll/bill packages from our hotels today, so busy morning. Now I'm just trying to catch up on "stuff" from my in-basket or as I so fondly call it my Procrastination Basket.

Believe it or not I use the DIS as a work incentive. I have those crappy jobs that I just hate to do, so I tell myself if I do one job, I can post one thing. Works great!:thumbsup2

Hello ladies.

I have a huge headache. Dh thinks I'm a bit dehydrated because I've been working in the yard since 6am. I've been downing the water but my head is pounding. So I came in to take a shower and quit for the day before I get Morgan.

Alison, I got your card just in time for our busiest 2 weeks of the summer :rotfl: because I added swim and diving lessons to them. Jake has been in them all summer but Morgan needs a refresher course and she always wanted to learn to dive. So, she does that from 7-8pm every night on top of the other stuff. We talked about it beforehand and I said it would be a tough 2 weeks but if we took swim lessons now during this session then in 2 weeks when we are done with summer dance we dont have to do ANYTHING!!!! We are headed up to the mountains for 3 days to go camping and then we will just lay around in pj's. She still has tumbling and cheer but thats only 3 hours a week total and we'll skip a day to go camping. Just wanted to let you know my time to do nothing before school starts is coming!!!!:lmao:

She wasnt tired at all during swim and dive last night and had a blast. Thank goodness I was relieved. Luckily she has a full class so they get a lot of breaks in between laps across the pool. It did help her go to sleep before 10:30 last night though!!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

SHAWNA!!

Well go take some Tylenol for heaven's sake, get rid of that headache!

I can sure remember those busy days, seemed like we were going in 27 different directions all at once. Now that I've slowed down a bit, seems like I'm only going in about 10 different directions!:lmao:

DS stayed up at the grandparent's house after the 4th. But they are coming back down tonight for my BIL's knee surgery tomorrow. DD spent the night with a friend and I am picking her up on my way home. Geesh, she has a driver's license you would think she could start driving herself places!

Hold it, you're going camping and you think you'll be doing nothing all day?? Seriously now, when I go camping I work my butt off! Isn't the whole idea of camping not relaxation, but to make you appreciate all the conveniences of your modern home???:rotfl:

Does that mean I white trash trailer camp?:lmao:

OK, have a bunch of bank deposits to make and then need to start working on bills. TTYL.:goodvibes

Cool! Thanks for the link. :thumbsup2 He has to purchase the gear soon since it's recquired for the course he's taking. Wow, Fox gear is usually expensive. You got an awesome bargain. :yay:

My bf got a new helmet (a local shop ordered it for him) but the shield was scratched. They ordered a replacement shield and he picked it up today. He's going to look for pants and the boots.

I saw a backpack in one of the stores we went to. It's an Ogio brand hydration pack. It has all these cool pockets and also has a water bottle in it. Pretty cool. I think it was on sale so I want to get it. :cheer2:
