I hate camping.. Have I mentioned I hate it? To me, there is nothing fun about sleeping outside. But we all know I have bed issues.

I can't handle the bugs and the humidity this time of year.. we like to go in early fall.

Try an air mattress! I couldn't handle sleeping on the ground.

I think we will bring tents to MIL's house when we see her in two weeks, little nicer sleeping on the air mattress than on her squishy bed. Much too soft for me and hubby to handle-- owwwwwwwwww my back hurts for days after that.

Plus we can decide to go to bed whenever, get up when we want.. having a bonfire.. she gets tired out much earlier than us.

We told DN The Marine tm that we STILL talk about his stink bomb that he let rip in our car. Hubby gagged on that lovely bit of stink.. it was BAD!

He told us "oh that wasn't that bad"


He told us how he let one rip in the shower room of his barracks, walked out and shut the door.. only to hear the poor guy yell and then start retching.




I offered him something to eat while he was here .. but told him he couldn't have the burritos-- since we had to be in the car with him for three hours

We have training again in the morning, I need my eight hours or I am crab city!

I'm prepared this time. I have my coffee mug ready to go (I know it's weird, but my Tinkerbell coffeee mug and I have this special relationship.. coffee is JUST not the same without her), bought some yogurt cups to tote along.. can't eat right when I get up but I need something in the morning to eat.

I think I will bring a book too... gotta have something to do between vital check logging.

OHHH and our laptop, they have a program download to fill in the flow sheet and email it to them

Hubby is like "c'mon let me do it!" anxious to get started.

We hope to do our own set up in the morning-- getting supplies, his weigh in, scrub up, cut his pieces of tape for him .. etc.. We kinda like being in charge of things, hate waiting around and having distractions.

Last time, E set his needles, the nurse guy said "I have to draw labs" and then walked away to do something else. Meanwhile hubby is sitting and waiting around.. he starts clotting, which would make it impossible to draw lab (can't draw after giving heparin).

E waves the nurse down "I'm clotting already"

Nurse is like "oh?!" -- very surprised..
Had to pump a syringe on the line to get the blood flowing and finally draws the labs.

At the end of the run.. nurse guy is all surprised..

"wow, never had anyone clot that fast!"

umm yeah, we told you that

And then he looks at the tubing and realizes.. "you need a higher heparin dose"

umm yeah.. we told you that??




Hubby is NOT the typical dialysis patient.

We are back among the land of people who own BIG dogs-- hooray! It was odd to see people out walking (or at the mall carrying) these tiny things going yip yip yip yip in California. Rare to see large breeds.

Scary, isn't it??? Like when DH had an MRI scheduled. He told the person doing the scheduling 3 separate times that he has metal in his heart. So he gets there, tells the person as they're taking him into the room about his stent, and they FLIP OUT!!! "You're supposed to tell us this beforehand! We can't put you in this machine! It would kill you! We have to send you across town, and I don't even know if they could fit you in!!!"

Hellooooo! Told the scheduler that on three separate phone calls!
