puckerup: Afternoon gals! I am off in a few to take the big beastie to soccer. We just got home from MILs house.. Boy... THAT was fun. ;) :lmao: Oh well.. At least the hubby made up for it. ;) :woohoo:  :woohoo: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Did he get you Daniel Jackson as a consolation prize? ;)

Hello ladies.

I have a huge headache. Dh thinks I'm a bit dehydrated because I've been working in the yard since 6am. I've been downing the water but my head is pounding. So I came in to take a shower and quit for the day before I get Morgan.

Alison, I got your card just in time for our busiest 2 weeks of the summer :rotfl: because I added swim and diving lessons to them. Jake has been in them all summer but Morgan needs a refresher course and she always wanted to learn to dive. So, she does that from 7-8pm every night on top of the other stuff. We talked about it beforehand and I said it would be a tough 2 weeks but if we took swim lessons now during this session then in 2 weeks when we are done with summer dance we dont have to do ANYTHING!!!! We are headed up to the mountains for 3 days to go camping and then we will just lay around in pj's. She still has tumbling and cheer but thats only 3 hours a week total and we'll skip a day to go camping. Just wanted to let you know my time to do nothing before school starts is coming!!!!:lmao:

She wasnt tired at all during swim and dive last night and had a blast. Thank goodness I was relieved. Luckily she has a full class so they get a lot of breaks in between laps across the pool. It did help her go to sleep before 10:30 last night though!!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Sorry to hear you have a headache. I hope you feel better!

Hmm....my bf and I are trying to figure out what to eat for dinner. I really want Middle-Eastern kabob and their cucumber yogurt with levash (bread that looks like sheets).

I didn't eat lunch....I went home and started kicking rump on Diablo II.

My bf is trying to get me to play Neverwinter Nights.

Hold it, you're going camping and you think you'll be doing nothing all day?? Seriously now, when I go camping I work my butt off! Isn't the whole idea of camping not relaxation, but to make you appreciate all the conveniences of your modern home???:rotfl:

Does that mean I white trash trailer camp?:lmao:

Nope you are high class camping in your trailer! :snooty:

No after the initial setup we barely do anything. (that and cleanup are a pain in the butt but thats all usually.) Fish, but that is relaxing because we never catch anything. :lmao: Maybe take a leisurely hike.

I stopped fixing big meals when we camp a long time ago. We get cold cuts and pb&j for lunch and roast hot dogs or hamburgers over the fire for dinner. A long time ago it was all these meals we had at home but I stopped cooking eggs, bacon and pancakes for breakfast and started getting easy to eat foods so I didnt have to work!!!

now I just lay around in the hammock and point to the container where food is and tell them to go get it! :lmao:

Sounds good to me.

When we go camping in our trailer:snooty: to the beach, I try to do as much as I can before we leave. That means cooking alot of stuff, and then freezing as much as I can. We BBQ almost everynight. Even pizzas. The first night is always BBQ beef sanwiches, that just needs to be warmed up. This year I'm making cowboy cobbler one night. Yummy!!! We do about 2 big breakfasts during the week. My DDs also help with the cooking, and cleaning. We take turns.

We used to tent it all the time, until I reached the tender age of not liking to pee in a coffee can during the night. And then having to discreetly dumping it in the morning.  I also didn't care for all of the sand on my feet, even though we would put throw carpets down.:headache: So one morning I woke up, and told Dave this is it..... I want a trailer. And that was that.

I absolutely love to camp. I think it is relaxing myself. But the week before getting ready to go................no, not so relaxing.:faint:

But in the end..................soooooooooooooooo worth it!! :cloud9:

We tent camp as well... take it nice and easy with our queen sized air mattresses, warm blankets and fave pillows from home. Stay at state parks that typically have things like: flush toilets, running water, hot showers, electrical outlets for our air pumps/mattresses. Usually we bring easy to make foods-- or go out to eat :rolleyes1

:lmao: :lmao:

One year it rained and rained and rained-- so we left the tent and drove all over northern MN.. found a little science museum that was fun, display of cool old bikes inside a store, watched poeple pay a bunch of money to talk with the Paul Bunyon in the amusement park.. hmm, I htink we hit a small mall on that trip too.

Another year we got bored sitting around the campground.. off to the car to explore and found a large pow wow competition in progress. Poked around the craft stalls and bought some fry bread tacos mmmmmmmmmm yummy!

Rented bikes at one park, they had lots of trails and could see the footings of some of the first houses/cabins built in the area.. a small cemetary, tiny museum.. that was at the Mississippi headwaters.

If you ever have a chance to camp in MN-- go to Itasca State Park, beautiful white pine forests, lots of history in the area, walk across the mighty Mississippi River in your bare feet. ;)
It's one of the best state parks in the system, we had a beautiful site with room for two tents, right next to the shower/bathrooms but was wooded enought that we couldn't see anyone unless we walked down the drive.
