I don't remember if it was about the drug, or ... OH! I wonder if it was about oatmeal baths.

A friend of mine said she gives her girls an oatmeal bath. She makes a little pouch of oatmeal out of old pantyhose material and lets it soak in the bath. She said it's the milky stuff from the oatmeal that is soothing to the skin. Her girls grab the pouch and just squeeze the water out of it onto their skin.

I doubt I even have a pair of pantyhose anymore, and couldn't think of what else to use for that purpose, or where even to BUY a pouch type thing. :confused3

Actually, I don't think that was exactly my question, because it's not really nurse-ish. :lmao:

Just go to the store and buy some super cheap pantyhose. It might run you... $1.00?

hmm, the dresser we have is WHITE .. like shiney white.. it was in the as-is area and it has scratches.

I'm wondering what it would take to paint the drawer faces?

Mind it has to be cheap :lmao:

Hubby thinks I would need to sand off the shine surface before applying paint.

I can check the DIY sites and see what others have done I guess.

The boys bed is just plain pine.. but I don't think they really care.

It's not a laminate surface? Like melamine?

don't think so.. on Ikea site it just says acrylic paint, it already has scratches and you can see wood underneath. Actually, I think we added a few more trying to get it in the car :rolleyes1

Yeah, she also mentioned cheesecloth, and ... to be quite honest, I don't even know where to BUY cheesecloth! :rotfl2:

Oh yeah, the doc suggested Aveeno oatmeal bath! I should look for that!

They sell it just about anywhere, I believe.

hmm, read on another site to use coffee filters. But don't let the water run thru it from the faucet-- it will tear. :scared:

Milk in the water helps too. weird huh?

I guess I never pay attention to bath stuff, since I'm not supposed to take baths and the boys have had allergic reactions to bubble bath stuff.

The Aveeno stuff sounds like something I should just keep on hand (assuming the boys don't have an allergic reaction of course.) :thumbsup2

I used to have a friend who's ds was allergic to EVERYTHING. Her Dr. told her to try that stuff, and it worked out great.
