Chase Disney Rewards Card ?

You come out ahead THIS YEAR. But keep an eye on your spending and in the 2% categories to see if you will come out ahead next year. If not downgrade to the regular card. You still get the 6 months & 1% reward and no annual fee.

Thank you for all the helpful info!!

Actually this was my plan when I signed up for the card - to wait a year and then downgrade to the card with no annual fee. I have a mastercard and Amex that have better point systems with more variety in redeeming options.

Again - thanks!

Can anyone tell me if this still is valid and obtainable and if it is how it works and the details? Thanks in advance. :thumbsup2

We got in May-do you think it would be worth it for us? We use our DEBIT Card ALL the time :cool1:

Right now the offer is if you sign up for the Premier Disney Visa credit card you pay a $49 annual fee but get $100 statement credit. The regular DV is a $50 statement credit after your first use but no annual fee. With either card you basically get a $50 statement credit. With the Premier card you get 2% reward points for certain purchases. I got my DV rewards booklet today and it says you can get 2% on "gas, grocery stores, restaurants, and most Disney locations" whereas you get 1% back on "everything else." With the regular DV you only get 1% on all purchases.

I think you can get 0% fianancing for a Disney vacation for 6 months on both cards as well.

With the DV you are limited to rewards for Disney "stuff" or airline tickets but that's it. I have other rewards cards that have more options for the points so overall are a better option for me.

However, since we are going in January I figured I'd get the Premier card, get the $100 statement (automatically saving me $50 on my vacation) and then I'll pay the vacation on the card and get 2% back towards cash rewards (about $60) before my trip. I may start using the card for groceries and eating out for a few months just to get some more points before our trip and then after our trip go back to using my other cards. In the end it might save me about $150 - $200. That's not bad! Plus you get discounts for using the card at certain places in WDW - 10% off merchandise, select dining (not sure what that means) and select tours. Plus there's a character meet and greet just for DV card members.

If you are going in May then you might really be able to get some Disney rewards points piled up, plus the $50 for signing up for the card.

I will say though that I've read other offers that people have gotten through DV where they got $200 statement credit for signing up for the card...that would be a great deal! I may even call DV myself and ask if I could get that deal...I'm sure they'll say no but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm not sure if I answered your question or just rambled a lot but hope it helps!
