Chase Disney Credit Card free ticket promotion

Sorry if this question is a little drawn out, but it's complicated. Please bear with me.

I'm taking a trip to Disney World May 8-11. As part of a promotion having to do with a timeshare I got some tickets free, but still needed 2 tickets for 1 day of the trip for my DH and I.

So, a few weeks ago on this board I asked a question about if there was any way to get discounted 1-day base tickets. I was told there aren't any discounts on 1-day tickets, but someone very nicely provided me a link to the disneyfriendfree Web site and a coupon code (for some reason disboards won't let me post the link, but if you wanted you could look it up in my previous posts. I haven't made very many.) I was told if I ordered a Chase Disney credit card that I would get a free 1 day base ticket after receiving my credit card and making my first purchase, and that DH could do the same.

I knew when I tried it that there was a chance I wouldn't receive the tickets in time for my trip, but thought nothing ventured, nothing gained, and I could always use the tickets on another trip if they didn't arrive on time.

Well, our cards arrived in the mail yesterday, and we both quickly made a small purchase online. The tickets take 4 to 6 weeks to send after the first purchase is made. We're leaving Sunday, May 7, so the last day they could come in the mail in time for us is Saturday, May 6. That's 5 weeks and 1 day from today.

Can anybody who has gotten tickets through this route tell me how long it took for them to get them? Was there any hassle?

I did go ahead and call Chase and they said I don't have to do anything, that the tickets will be mailed to me automatically after they see on my account that I have made a purchase. Can anybody tell me for sure if that's right? Is there anything more that I need to do?

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

While I don't have experience with this particular promotion or company, I'm willing to bet you will receive your tickets before your departure. Normally, when they say 4-6 weeks, it's usually much less. Of course, I wouldn't bet the farm, but typically things arrive much quicker than the "please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery" timeline. Good luck and have fun!

Just wanted to give the OP a heads up! You might want to call Chase and see if they can expedite you getting your tickets. The fine print on the web page for the free ticket promo states the tickets expire 06/30/06. So if you don't get them in time for your May trip they will probably expire before a future trip (that is unless you plan another trip between your May trip and the end of June).

I received my ticket within a week or two of the required CC Purchase. I'm looking at my ticket at it does not saying anything about expiring in June. I really think it is the OFFER that expires in June rather than the actual ticket.

I think I'm the person who responded to your post and I have good news for you. Our tickets came within 2 weeks of our 1st purchases!

Since the promo said 4-6 week (and I even called to have this verified) we NEVER expected them in time for our trip. We were amazed how fast they came.

But..... you have to be CAREFUL!!!!!! They came in a thin, unmarked envelope that looks like junk mail. My daughter almost tossed hers out. If things have not changed you should get them in plently of time. :thumbsup2

I'm curious now. Maybe I should call Chase and ask them about the ticket expiration. I really would prefer the ticket over the $50 offer. But after reading the fine print on the site I didn't figure the ticket would work for me.

BTW, the exact wording of the fine print states "This Magic Your Way Base Ticket expires on 06/30/06."

Thanks for letting me know about the unmarked envelope especially. We get SO much junk mail that I do tend to throw away a lot of envelopes without opening them. I just hope I haven't done that with our tickets! (I just went through three trash cans, and they're not there, but if they came before Sunday, they'd already be gone with the garbage truck.) I had previously called Chase twice asking about whether they could expedite the tickets, and they said no and the waiting time they were given to tell customers 8-10 weeks. Your posts give me encouragement. Do you happen to remember if there was ANY return address on the envelope?

I just called WDW Ticketing and read the number off of the back of my ticket. They told me it is a regular one day/one park ticket no hopping and expires after the first use [obviously] but does not have a 'use by' date applied to the ticket. She said if it were to be an expiring ticket it would have to be printed with the expiration date on the ticket.

Mine does not appear to have any expiration date. :thumbsup2

I have a feeling the fine print should have been "This Magic Your Way Base Ticket OFFER expires on 06/30/06.

anyone have thephone number for chase,,, I got it in an email and then deleted it,,
so Please post it for me ,, thank you

I thought the ticket expired also and did not want to use it last February if I didn't have to so I took it to Guest Services in Epcot and was told it DOES NOT have an expiration date. As previously posted.... the offer expires NOT the ticket.

It was a thin white business envelope with just a PO box # (which my SIL swears was in burgundy print although my DD and I don't recall this) or something like that in the upper left corner. No Disney, no visa, no nothing that would indicate it was anything but junk mail.

It kicked around my DD's kitchen counter unopened for a couple of weeks before she opened it and discovered what it was. I hope you didn't toss it. When did you say you made your first purchase?

I made the purchase early in the morning March 31 (shortly after midnight.)

I think you're safe. Last Sunday was the 9th which was only 9 days since you used them. They didn't come that fast.

The tickets came in the mail today! :yay: It took exactly three weeks. The return address, in case anybody else winds up needing to spot it, is:

Award Headquarters
P.O. Box 4900
Fenton, MO 63099

It is indeed a thin, white envelope with burgundy print on the return address. One actual ticket (not a voucher) was enclosed in each envelope.

A packing slip inside had the phone number 1-800-300-8575 in it. If anybody, like me, was paranoid for a while that they may have thrown it away, maybe you could call this number and see what they say?

Does anyone know if the one day ticket you get through this promo can be upgraded to a multi-day ticket once you get to WDW? Or is it a special promo ticket that can't be upgraded? If it can be upgraded, how much credit toward the new ticket would you get from this one? The price of a one day ticket at the gate?

Thanks for any help!

Anyone know the answer?

I'd also like to find out if it is possible to upgrade these. I don't think the free Chase tickets are any different from a 1 day ticket you would buy (from Disney or a Disney broker) and I know those can be upgraded but I don't know for sure. :confused3

The reason I ask is the fine print in the offer says "Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commerical use and are not redeemable for cash or upgrades to other admission media."

Of course, as discussed earlier in this thread the fine print also says the ticket expires 06/30/06, which others have reported is not true.

I'm hoping the ticket can be upgraded as I was planning on using it for an upcoming trip in September and I wanted to upgrade it to a 7 day ticket.

I haven't received the ticket yet or I would call disney myself with the ticket code and see if they could tell me if it is upgradable or not.

If anyone has first hand knowledge of the ability to upgrade this ticket, please respond.

TIA!
