Chartering a sailboat on St. Thomas

Anyone ever make their own reservations for sailing on St. Thomas? I've been surfing some sites, but would really like some personal recommendations. I want to make sure I am not on a "cattle boat".

Just got back from 7 night cruise.This is what we did and really really loved it. Would do it again .check out their web site and see what you think.

Wednesday, St. Thomas. Skies were overcast all day. No sunshine. But we took a catamaran to St. Johns on the Allura.

Had a beautiful sail to the island, snorkeled in crystal clear waters, had a wonderful lunch on the vessel with champagne and an open bar. We recommend this excursion to anyone who enjoys sailing. Capt. Jamison, Ken and Robin will take great care of you

We chartered the "Jester" which is a sailboat that will hold up to 6 passengers and you get all food and drink, and is your own boat for the day.
Captain Jim is really good, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a fun day.

We sailed on the Jester last Wednesday. We had the best time of the cruise. While we only did a 1/2 day, it was just enough for us. Captain Jim was fantastic.

HOw did you do a halfday sail with Jester? Did he charge you the same price? I spoke to Capt. Jim about chartering him for our Aug, cruise but never thought about a half day....
