I am looking for anyone interested in sharing a fishing charter with my DH (29) and DS (5) on our upcoming Disney Cruise. I tried to book the Castaway Cay Bottom Fishing Excursion but was not allowed because my son will be 5 yrs and 11 months at the time we cruise and the min. age is 6 yrs.

I have looked into private charter in Nassau. We will be in Nassau on Monday, Nov. 25. The total cost for the half day light tackle/bottom fishing charter is $400.00 for up to 6 people. The time with be from 1-5 pm.

Anyone interested or know of anyway to get around the min. age requirement with Disney please contact me.

Thanks,
Tish

Won't be on that cruise, but my DH loves to fish & would appreciate the name & # of the charter company in Nassau for a future trip.

The name of the company is Brown's Charters. Telephone number is 242-324-2061. Website is www.brownscharter.com

I think i will go ahead and book the charter now and hope someone will reply or maybe we'll meet someone on the ship that is interested in joining. If not, my husband and son will have a great time alone and have lots of help and attention from the guide.

We traveled with friends recently and the DH really loves to fish....goes out weekly on his boat, etc.

His wife booked him the CC fishing charter and it was all he talked about for 4 days beforehand. He said when they went out, there was another guy, an older couple and a younger couple plus the crew. Well, before they had even gotten past the ship from CC they had to turn around and drop off the older couple who were feeling quite sick! He was the only one on the boat who really knew how to fish(besides the crew of course) and he had lots of fun with the crew and everyone got lots of attention. They caught a 63 lb something....it was bigger than my 6 year old son as well as catching a shark and some other stuff. He said it was an absolutely fabulous experience and is looking forward to doing this again next year on our 7 day cruise.

Anyway, point of the story is that the fishing is great at CC and we would enjoy reading a detailed report of your experience after you do this in November as it may be something of interest in the future for this guy. Of course, next year we'll be on a 7 day so we won't be going to Nasau.

BTW, this friend of ours left his DSs (9 & 5) behind with us and his wife because they are not into fishing the same way he is. He said the older son (who is prone to motion sickness) would not have enjoyed it. The younger one would have liked it but was too young at the time.
