I thought I read somewhere you can use your room card to charge to your room. Anyone know how that works? Do you have to give them a credit card number?
I was wondering if you could just put cash on your account and then use the card to charge and they would then take if from the money we put down? I was trying to think of a way not to walk around with a lot of cash. I don't want everything charged on my credit card.
Any thoughts??

I don't know about a cash deposit- we always put a credit card on the account at check-in. I *think* you can put cash on deposit. If not, you could always put a credit card on to start, and pay the balance with cash or traveler's checks at the end of each day. That way you card won't get charged.

You can do both, put a credit card down or a cash deposit, I prefer the cash deposit route this way I have my trip completely paid for and really keeps us in a budget.

thanks everyone! I knew someone out there would have the answer! You are all great!

Can I deposit travlers checks into the account at check-in time? I think it would be a lot easier to just deposit the money upfront and not have to go pay it off every night or so. The only cash I want on hand is to be used for tips and such.

I believe you can deposit it all at one shot. I usually just put down like 1500 or 2000 in cash while Im there. This time Ill have to do it a little different cause Im staying at 2 resorts and not sure if I can transfer my cash from resort to resort, so if anyone knows if you can that would be great.

i would call to double check this to be sure they're still doing it this way, but i believe the money you put down on your first resort would follow you to the second.

We stayed at 3 resorts (not by first choice LOL) on a trip in 9/02. When we changed from first to second then second to third, the money we paid at the beginning followed us. But that was an amount charged for the total stay at the first resort (where we had planned to spend all 5 nights) so again, a call to CRO should help you to know for sure how it works.

have a great trip!
