characters going on rides

Best bet is to head to Fantasy Land at opening, as that seems to be when characters are on the rides. Two years ago had great luck at Pooh ride. For some reason we let a couple ahead of us and then were disappointed when they were placed in the car with Pooh. But lo and behold Tigger came in the car designated for us, so we (myself and daughters age 3 and 6) got to ride with him. What a special treat! My 3-year old kept rubbing his arm and staring at him the entire ride! The best part about Disney magic is when it catches you totally by surprise.

We also rode the Winnie the Pooh ride with Eeyore! My dd rode in the front of the car with him, it was soooo special and he is now her favority character! Like the others said, it was first thing in the morning.

We have seen Pluto riding with a little girl on Dumbo, Pooh and Tigger at two different times on Pooh and last year we were standing in line for the teacups when DD noticed that Alice and the Mad Hatter were just a bit ahead of us. She walked up and asked them if they wanted to ride with her. (She's very brave--I never would have done that at 6 years old!) Anyway, when we were let on, she went off and rode with them while Dh and I and little brothers rode in the one next to them. And the camera was in the stroller!!!! :(

The front of the line -- they stopped us and asked if we were having a good time we said yea the best and then they asked what ride we were going on next and we said Peter Pan because we haven't been on it yet so they said Ok come with us and lead us up the exit to the front of the line and got us on.. I believe just a random act of CM kindness sprinkling Pixie dust and Magic around the park ... then they asked if we had been on Pooh and my kids said yes we love that ride so they took us over there too but this time they rode with my DD and DS . ( me and my mom waited by the exit. )

I promised my DD8 I would ask this question.. Do any of the characters (such as snow white alice etc) go on the rides with you? We have a Disneyland Singalong video that shows this. I told her I thought it was just for the video but she wants me to ask if any of you know. Thanks

totally a right place, right time kind of thing. My middle DS rode with Tigger on the Pooh ride a couple of years ago. it was great :)

It's a luck of the draw thing! Two summers ago DD & I got to ride Pooh with POOH! Last year we waited in line for Barnstormer with Goofy. He was in our plane about 3 rows ahead. Pooh was very first thing in the morning. Eyore & Tigger were also riding in other cars. Goofy rode the Barnstormer in the middle of the afternoon.

My 4 year old DD rode the carousel with Mary Poppins last year and after it was over Mary Poppins took my DD's hand and skipped around Fantasyland with her. She still talks about it.:)

ToonTown usually opens later than the rest of Magic Kingdom. We were there when ToonTown opened and my son got to ride Goofy's Barnstormer with Max. All of the kids who were there when they dropped the rope got to spend some one-on-one time with the characters. :earsboy:

My DD rode with Eeyore on the Winnie the Pooh ride. It was first thing in the morning. Eeyore kept acting scared and my DD was comforting him. It was the highlight of our trip!:teeth:

I always wondered if the characters ever rode on Splash Mountain...

My family has rode a number of times with Belle from Story time with Belle....We hung around after the show one year and made freinds with one of Belle's handlers and POOF!! She asked how would be like to ride some rides with Belle...We've done Peter Pan and Small World. Since that year we have done it during 2 more of our trips....After that though it was more because we had become friendly with the CM's 'and they remembered us....

During the 25th Anniversary there were always characters on the Liberty Belle as it circled Tom Sawyers Island (at least every time I was there). One time I was on there and it was MM, MM, Baloo, Chip, Dale, Pluto and Goofy. I got a GREAT picture of them in size order (front to back) only now I cannot remember what I did with it.
Talked to Pocohantas on one trip and she said more dads then kids were photographed with her.

At the end of the Family Magic Tour, you have a private meet/greet with a character (we had Alladdin) and then he walked us over to Small World and rode with our group.

We got to ride the Winnie the Pooh ride with Piglet one year at the opening of Fantasyland. My kids loved it! We were taken to a character greet area after the ride was over and were allowed to take as many pictures as we wanted too! It was magical!:earsgirl: :sunny:

Wow! I had no idea this really happened. I've never seen it!

I'll keep my eyes wide open this time!

I saw one post in this thread that Pocahontas said more dads than kids had their picture taken with her. My DH did! In fact, we had seven different princess pictures in three days... of DH, no kids! LOL

That's probably why he keeps agreeing to WDW vacations.

We were lucky on the Aladdin ride. Look who was in the carpet right in front of us!
