I promised my DD8 I would ask this question.. Do any of the characters (such as snow white alice etc) go on the rides with you? We have a Disneyland Singalong video that shows this. I told her I thought it was just for the video but she wants me to ask if any of you know. Thanks

I think only if you pay extra to be in a special program to spend a day with the characters. It's quite costly I think. I don't know much about it.

I have never seen the characters go on rides aside from that.

It does sometimes happen. You never know when it will happen, but usually it seems to be in the mornings when the characters start their sets. I know I've seen Alice and the Mad Hatter riding their tea cups with a young guest on the Mad tea Party last year and I've heard the the Aladdin characters ride the Magic Carpets and Goofy rides his Barnstormer as well from time to time. Just be sure to let you know that this is not something that always happens to everyone at WDW and if it does, then you are very fortunate.

I know they do in Fantasyland at opening (for the first ride of the day, though don't know if that happens every day). I've heard of at least Minnie riding Dumbo and Goofy riding Barnstormer.

I've seen kids ride on Dumbo with Mickey in the past. We also saw the characters from Splash Mountain riding that once (can't remember if there were kids with them or not). It does happen, but you have to be in the right place at the right time.

I've had Tweedledum (or was it Tweedledee :) ) ride in my teacup with me and DB - it was a bit of a tight squeeze tho!!

We just missed riding Winnie the Pooh with Pooh and Tigger in November. We have also seen Minnie and Mickie riding Dumbo and Max and Goofy riding the barnstormer with guests. We were actually on the ride when Goofy came along to ride with a happy child. We thought it was really fun to see.

I once rode on Barnstormer when Goofy was riding it. That's the only character I've actually seen on a ride.

I was standing near the Aladdin ride last spring, when to my surprise Aladdin and Jasmin walked out. Everyone was on the ride and they walked over to it and got in the car with a VERY sick little boy and his parent. The child appeared to be on oxygen. It still makes me teary eyed to tell it.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon back in 1996, and we were surprised when we saw Chip and Dale on Cinderella's Carousel with us! :earseek: However, I've never seen any other characters on rides, though I have heard that they do!

We too saw Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie ride the Magic Carpets. The three of them rode together so not with any children but my boys were in another 'carpet' and we have it on videotape. The kids thought it was pretty cool.

Catching Mickey riding Dumbo would be awesome!

In Oct '02, Marry Poppins and Bert said they ride the carousel everyday at 4:15. I've seen Mary on there by herself a few times.

We have seen Alice on the Tea Cups and Pooh characters on the Pooh ride. On our last trip we were lucky enough to ride Goofys Barnstormer with Goofy & Pluto. DH snapped a great picture of us going up the hill with Goofys hat(the backside of his head) leading the way. It looks like it should be in an ad or something. :D

On our last trip Tigger was in the vehicle behind us on the Pooh ride. We got some great pictures.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum tried to ride with DS and DD and they wouldn't let them in the Tea Cups with them !!! so they just rode in another by themselves.. and that same night 2 very nice CM girls picked us to have a front of the line ride ( we picked Peter pan ) and they walked us over to Winnie the Pooh and hopped in with DD and DS while I waited by the exit !

If you do the "Family Tour" then the character at the end of the Tour... could be Peter Pan.. Could be Wendy.. Could be Captain Hook.. will ride the Peter Pan ride with your group... not necessarily your child.... depending on how many people are on the tour...your chances are narrowed by the field... 2 characters.. better odds.... my 2 cents :)

Kathy

On our first ride of Winnie-the-Pooh, we (DD then 7 and I) got to ride along with Tigger!!

It was so cool that I missed most of the ride 'cause I was so excited to be in a hunny pot with him!!

My son got to ride with Peter Pan on the Peter Pan ride in Dec. This was part of the Family Magic tour & is your best chance of your DD getting to ride with a character.

Also, my son got to ride with Eeyore on the Astro Orbiters @ Disneyland, but like others have said, it's all by chance.

If your DD really wants to ride with a character, your best bet is the Family Magic tour, but if the group is large than only a couple of the kids ride with the character.
