character tuck in?

I remember reading this somewhere as well, but I was thinking it was on a Disney Cruise...

It was something that was offered on the old ship, Big Red Boat, before DCL. Not available on DCL.

I believe you can get a character wake up call, never tried it though.

If there were character tuck ins I would take Prince Eric from Little Mermaid.
