Character Meals

Hi all. Looking forward to only my second stay on site in July and had a dining question. When we were there last year, we did the Spiderman/Cat in the Hat breakfast and Confisco's Grill and loved it. I do, however, remember seeing signs for a character dinner at the Royal Pacific Resort where we are staying. Does anybody know where the meal is held or what characters are there? Can't seem to find info on the website other than "character meals" on the schedule. No details. Any US experts in the know?????

I dont know what exact characters will be there and they do change so you may want to call.

Today I called the Kitchen restaurant at the Hard Rock and the Islands restaurant at the Royal and both said that they didn't take advanced dinner reservations prior to 30 days. I also asked about which characters would be there and they wouldn't commit to certain ones at certain times, they all rotate between all restaurants. I didn't bother to call the Tratoria restaurant at Portofinos (again I"m typing from memory, which is limited at best). They have Shrek, Scooby Doo and Shaggy, and another one I can't remember. Then at Citricos ( I think that's the name, someone correct me here) in Universal does breakfast and dinner with Spiderman, Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 consistantly. Hope this helps.

The Islands Dining Room at RPR has characters or entertainment for dinner. The nice thing about this restaurant is you don't pay any extra for the characters. It is the same menu and price whether characters are present or not.

There are different characters or entertainment at the restaurant on different nights. They are only there for part of the evening so you need to ask when they will be at the restaurant. On our last visit in December, we saw Curious George and Woody Woodpecker. On another visit in 2006 we saw Shaggy and Scooby one night and a Hula dancer and singer on another night.

Oh...here is one of the nights at RPR Island Dining with Shaggy and Scooby.

Here is the area where you can allow the kids to play and eat. That is a big bed with tv's up top so they can eat and watch tv.
